Chapter 3: the encounter with Huggy
Warning: will mention some blood and very minor gore (it's not bad, but still mentions it a bit)

Ash ran through the hall till he got to the other side. He huffed and puffed as he turned back. Nothing was there. Ash puffed his cheek, way to be paranoid over nothing. He looked back in front of him and opened the door, there was a stairway with a TV near it.
Looks like there's another tape somewhere, Ash hummed as he walked over to the area and looked it over. He walked up the stairs and into another area. He looked around the place, it looked to be some storage unit or something. There was a massive claw above him and a way down below.
He looked across to see a container of some sort, with what looked to be another hand. Ash perked up "aha! That's the other hand I need" he spoke up out loud. But how does he get it? He looked around and found this blue device on the floor. He picked it up, looking over it curiously before he looked over at the panel nearby.
He placed the blue thing in the area it's meant to go and it clicked into place. Ash hummed and looked down seeing another one, red to be precise. He shot the hand to it and pulled it over to him. He smiled and put it on the panel as well.
He sighed and looked down, looks like he's gotta search around for the other two. He exhaled before he hopped down to the area below, letting out an "ouf-" as he landed on the ground. He began his search, he walked around some of the shelves that were toppled over and standing, when looking he found a tape. Ash perked up "ah, that's where you are" he murmured out as he grabbed it. Looking up he found the green device he needed.
He smiled and shot the hand up to it, grabbing it. He pulled it over to himself and continued looking around. He found a door..? At least, he thinks it is, it has a handle on it. He hummed and shot the hand to it, holding the trigger. Once it latched on he released and held the trigger again as the door began to be pulled open, seeing the TV on the other side.
Ash smiled and walked over to it, he placed the device down and slipped the tape in, he's got time right now. The tv was static as the audio played, a claw picture popped up on the screen "Ugh, Rich, where are they keeping the Huggy boxes? I don't know, I couldn't tell you! Remember when Maintenance last did a sweep of this place? No. Exactly! Nobody in this stupid company knows what they're doing. I swear, I haven't seen a single box in its place since they started flooding the storehouse with orphanage junk."
Ash blinked "orphanage?-" he murmered out, the tape continued to play "Right... I get it, it's a nice program and all, on-brand, but *sigh* It's just hard to be happy when Manufacturing is on OUR NECKS about it, 'cause we can't find stupid Huggy boxes! Rich... *sigh* You're right... You're right... It's.. It's for the orphans... I just wish there were less boxes. Anything less would be more abidable. - Is- is that even a word? Abidable." The tape stopped as Ash looked up confused.
"Orphanage? Hu?" He wondered. He shook his head and he wandered back into the storage unit. He needed to find this last device quickly. He began looking around as he uncovered some areas and looked underneath places. Though, he couldn't shake off the feeling, he was being watched.
He shook his head and looked at a pile of boxes, finding the yellow device he needed. He smiled and shot the hand grabbing it and pulling it to him. He nodded at himself and walked away, through the door again. He grabbed the green one that he had set down and walked up the stairs. He walked down the platform, but he halted to a stop as he saw what looked to be, something familiar staring at him from the vents.
It looked to be Huggy, but only seconds later did the head disappear and the vent shut. Ash felt his heart stop, was that Huggy?! Was he hallucinating?! No, he couldn't have been that time. Was Huggy somehow alive..? Ash sighed as he shook his head. There is no time to think about that. He walked over to the panel and placed the green and yellow device in the panel.
The claw activated and moved over to the red hand. It lowered down to the case it was held in and grabbed it, picking it up. Ash hummed out "oh wow, that's better than any of the claw machines I've played as a kid" he commented out loud. The claw had lifted itself up and moved back, only for it to go almost there and dropped it below. Ash blinked, staring in disbelief "are you kidding me?" He asked out loud.
"I did all of that only to jump down again?!" He added. He sighed in disbelief as he again jumped down. He walked over to the hand and pulled it out of the case. He attached it onto the canon as it clipped on. He smiled and hummed out "now I have two hands! Wooh!" He then looked at the panels above the vent of conveyor belts.
He shot both hands over as they scanned them. They scanned until they stopped and the door opened, he looked in and down to see those spinning metal things (I don't know what they are called), which are impossible to climb back up from. Ash puffed his cheek 'well shit, once I'm down I'm down and there's no turning back' he thought to himself. He exhaled as he braced himself.
Like you would on a slide, he sat down and let the metal spinners carry him down to the bottom. He was faced with a closed door and a second receiver. Second as it has the number two on it. He looked around to see more of those metal spinners next to him and the path behind him. He began to walk around, in a square give or take.
He found a metal pole in the center with more metal spinners, rounding the corner he found a conveyor belt he crawled up on and found the first receiver across from him. He hummed out and shot one hand over to it, he looked over to the pole, angling himself to slide down for the wire to touch the pole, once he slid down and stepped forward a bit, he heard the sound of the pole being lit up.
Ash smiled as he walked over to the second receiver and shot the second hand over it. Instantly, the conveyor belt activated as it jolted forward sending him on his ass. He sat just letting the conveyor belt take him away. Then, an alarm blared as toy parts fell from above. That scared the bujesus out of him, but sighed as he relaxed. Then, a second one blared as he looked to the left to see more falling down.
Ash shook his head, it's fine it's just toy parts, nothing big. Then, a final blare that sent toy parts to the right of him. He sighed as he traveled around for a bit longer before he was sent barreling down to this production zone. He looked up to see he was in something that was broken. He stepped out of it and looked around.
He found this panel and walked over to it and read "Make A Friend" he didn't bother reading the rest of it as he looked at the other panel. It read in big red letters "NEEDS POWER" Ash huffed a bit as he looked behind himself to see a massive door with a poster that read "Nobody leaves without a toy!" Ash smiled "looks like that maybe my ticket way out" he told himself as he looked over to see a stairway.
Looking up to where he'd be led to, he figured it was gonna be another puzzle to get past. Looking around he spotted a pink tape, hiding in plane sight. Ash blinked in shock but smiled, well that was easy. He walked over to where it was from above and shot the hand over to it. The hand grabbed it and he pulled it over to himself.
Ash smiled more at himself "I'm getting really good with this grab pack" he said to himself before he walked over to the stairway, tape in hand. He climbed up the stairs looking around for some time before reaching the top to find a TV and VHS player. He walked over to it and slipped the tape inside and looked up at the screen, it flickered on as the picture of a human hand popped up.
"So, Stella, What made you want to work at the Playtime Co. factory?" A pause later and another voice spoke up "Playing with toys when I was young was so magical. I could go straight from my bedroom floor to anywhere in the world. It was such a great feeling. And... being able to work at a toy factory... somewhere that can provide kids with that same experience... That's a pretty great feeling too!" Ash hummed out a bit "yeah, I miss having those days as a kid" he said to himself.
"Sometimes though... I really, really wish I could go back. To being a kid, I mean. And it's weird, 'cause... adults are just kids, but older! I don't think anyone ever really feels like an adult? But your body just gets older... and older... and then you die. Poof!" The lady, Stella he presumed laughed after that, he only hummed at her statement.
"Human bodies just can't stay young forever. There's things though, like some trees that can stay alive even while being way older than a person! I mean, the oldest people to ever live are STILL younger than those! So I guess everyone is always young relative to something... Right?"
Ash nodded at that as the tape finished up "Alright, I think we're getting a little off-track." He hummed as it ended. She had a point, nobody really feels like an adult, heck not even Ash feels like one. He walked off and found a receiver. Good, he looked over and found two metal poles and a very long way down. Ash walked over to the edge and looked down, it looked pretty far and would cause him to twist or break his ankle if he wasn't careful enough.
He walked around the drop to the other side and found the second receiver. Ash smiled as he walked back to the first one. He attached the hand to the first one and walked backwards, he did almost a figure eight around the poles and tried to get to the other side. Tried, as the grab pack couldn't reach.
Ash blinked in confusion "uhhh-" he spoke up out loud. He released the hand and walked over to the poles and to where the second receiver lied. How was he supposed to get it there? He looked down and across to see a handle nearby. Ash blinked as he shot the hand over to it. He pulled it over and a platform was there. Ash let out a "hu-" as he again walked over to the receiver.
He attached the hand to it as he did a figure eight again, walking across the platform. But it still looked too be too short. So, he detached it and shot the hand from where he was as redid the figure eight he walked around and almost all the way over to the second receiver. Ash grumbled "fuck- just stick to socket!" He yelled out.
He looked over to the platform and sighed, he shot the hand and pulled it over, going back around where he came from and across the platform again. Then he shot the hand to the second receiver and powered up the machine "oh finally!" He said in victory. That took too long.
He ran across the platform and towards the stairs. He ran down them and jumped to the area with the panels. The red words were now green as they read "POWER ON" Ash smiled as he pressed the button. Nothing, Ash blinked in confusion as he looked around. Was that all for nothing? Just then a sound of what mimicked a train was heard in front of him.
Ash looked up at the thing as he looked over at the tubes that held parts. The handles were lit up, signaling that they can be pulled. Ash smiled as he walked over and shot the hands over to one handle each. Once the handles were pulled down he released them and shot one of the hands to the last one. Toy parts coming down the conveyor belt towards the machinery.
They disappeared as the machines "mouth" closed. Ash hummed out, looks like there's a bit of goof to this place. The mouth opened up again as the now colored toy parts came out, now with eyes. It entered the second stage of production. Oddly, the machine was following him, giving him the creeps.
The things "mouth" did some sort of chomping as the toy came out from the front of it, all assembled up. Ash perked up in awe, it was a cat that seemed to be merged with a bee. Ash watched it go to the last part, it looked to be being scanned. But he didn't mind it. The toy then finished up as it sat on the belts being rolled close to the end.
Ash walked over to the end as he picked up the toy and looked it over. He had to admit it, the toy looked cute. He walked over to the door, he walked over to the device as he placed the toy there. The device scanned the toy before it was accepted. He placed the toy on the grab pack all nice and snug. He walked over to the door to the right and tried opening it. Locked, as to be expected.
Then the door to the left, the sign next to it said "stairway to hell" but the "to hell" was in red. Ash hummed as he walked away and forward. But then, in the blink of an eye, something emerged from the shadows grabbing onto him, in a hugging like state. Ash screamed out as he looked up. It was Huggy, his mouth was open as sharp teeth aligned it. His heart stopped as he glanced at his eyes, hunger was read in them as he was growling out
Ash wasted no time and began to use all of his strength to get the fuck out of Huggy's grasp. He glanced to see Huggy preparing himself to bite down on his head. Fuck no! Ash felt a rust of adrenaline as he pushed out of Huggy's grasp. But, he didn't fully avoid his mouth either, as he pulled off, Huggy went to bite down, he missed him. Mostly. Ash felt his teeth sinking into his skin over his forehead down to his cheek over his left eye.
Ash screamed out, feeling some flesh being ripped off as he crashed onto the ground quickly scooting away from Huggy. Ash quickly rushed to his feet and ran off. He looked over to see a gate in front of the stairway. Completely, so he was trapped. At least he thought so at first. He looked back to see Huggy following after him, fresh blood dripping from his mouth caused by him.
Ash looked around quickly, seeing the vent opened now he bolted into the vents as the door shut behind him. Ash could feel his heart pounding a thousand times faster than usual. Ash felt himself trembling as all of that just happened. He wasted no more time and slid down the metal spinners. He ran as he looked around quickly.
Looking ahead he focused on getting out. As he got close to a turn he felt and heard stomping, he froze as he saw across from him from a barrier between the vents, the familiar face of Huggy Wuggy. Staring back at him, hungry. Ash shook a bit, turning to his left as he ran off, hoping to not run into him.
He turned to his left as he looked ahead. Then the door shut behind him, he looked behind himself and back forward quickly to see Huggy barreling towards him. Ash screamed as he turned right and quickly ran off, taking the weird turns as he went.
Straight ahead were the spinners, but he saw a way left, taking the sharp left he ran glancing back to see Huggy continuing to chase him. He looked ahead again and went down in a drop. He continued to run even though he almost slipped from the spinners. He could feel his heart pounding in fear and anxiety for his life.
He ran forward as he came across a slide of the spinners and slid down them. Though, the end was a bunch of them in front of him destroyed, but he saw a way out to the right of him and ran right, still hearing the stomps from Huggy as he ran. Taking a few weird turns to turn left, he ran ahead and saw some light. He ran over and saw a tight spot as he crouched down and squeezed through, barely missing Huggy as he went to grab him.
Ash panicked even more feeling Huggy's hand graze his shoulder he ran quickly, taking a right and small turn as he ran ahead and turned right again. He continued to run as the stomps faded a little bit. Did Huggy give up? Just then the doors in front of him and behind him shut, he went to go right, but froze when he saw Huggy inching closer to him, slowly as he must've been exhausted chasing after him.
Ash panicked, but the door in front of him opened as he squeezed below it before it fully opened and continued to run straight ahead. He took a right after a bit and ran straight ahead again, he could start feeling himself growing tired as the wound on his face began throbbing in aggravation.
He ran ahead more as he came across more metal spinners. He slid down those as he exited the vents, the door closing behind him. He sighed with relief, but that relief washed away when he heard the door being slammed into.
Ash perked up and panicked. What could he do? He looked around for any means to escape. His eye caught a massive box above. Wasting no time he shot the hands to it and pulled it down, just as Huggy busted through the door. The box destroyed the conveyor belt they stood on to a platform, but Huggy didn't land on the platform.
He landed half way on it. Ash panicked as he stood up quickly as Huggy slid off. Ash reached out for Huggy, but he was too late as Huggy fell far from his grasp. Ash and Huggy locked eyes in that instance as Huggy's head slammed onto some large metal pipe, letting out this scream as he fell.
"HUGGY!" Ash shouted for him as he was still in the reaching out position for him. Though, why did he do it? Why did he try to save him?! He was just trying to kill him! But, Ash felt something from Huggy, even if he didn't have access to his magic he can still sense things. It isn't as strong but it was there. There was something, off about Huggy though, but he couldn't put his finger on it.
He slowly backed away from the edge as he fell to his ass. He was huffing and puffing as his heart raced in his chest. He nearly died, that wasn't good! He imagined what the backlash would be like. Every scenario played in his head, all of which wasn't good. Ash began to take steady breaths, though it was hard, he did so. He needed to calm down. He took steady breaths for a good ten minutes or so, relaxing his nerves finally.
After claiming down he felt this sharp pain flood through him, he gasped out in shock then grunted out as he held his hand over his eye. The pain from it began to affect him, as his head was starting to hurt. The blood dripped from his face to his hand. Though he hesitated, he had to check the skin on his eyelid to see how deep it is, and if it got his eye.
He slowly touched the wound, it stung the second he touched it "GAH- UGH-" he shouted out as he got a good feel of the eyelid. He removed his hand away from it carefully, relieved to know that his eye was unscathed. Ash finally stood up, not thinking, not caring, he ran away from the place he was at. He didn't care where he went, anywhere but there was better.
After running for what felt like forever he stopped, looking down he found another tape. It was black, and blank. Ash blinked confused. He picked it up and looked around, needing to rely on one eye to do so. But, he was successful in finding the TV. He walked over to it as he kept an eye out. He never knew what lurked around.
He reached the player and TV, but he set the tape down, first he needed to tend to himself. He sat down moving his hair out of the way and reached into his pouches, he pulled out a cloth and dabbed it over the fresh wound. The cloth soaked up the blood as he gritted his teeth, it still stung as he kept dabbing the wound.
Once he got the blood to stop for a good bit he tossed the cloth in a bag and put it back in his satchel. He then pulled out some wipes with rubbing alcohol on it. He was not gonna like this part- he exhaled as he tore it open. He braced himself as he began to gently dab it on the fresh wound. The raw flesh stung upon impact as Ash inhaled deeply and held his breath, continuing to dab the wound to a safe level.
It took him a few minutes as the wound stopped stinging and only reacted to the cold wipe. He exhaled as he tossed the wipe down the chasms. He then pulled out two thick gauze pads and ripped the packaging open. He sighed knowing he came prepared, however he had to be careful and not over use his supplies. He doubted a toy factory had medical kits around. Maybe they did, but it was very slim to run into one.
He tossed the packaging away like he did with the wipes. Ok, this next part was gonna be tricky, he pulled out some medical tape and pulled out a strip, getting it ready for what he needed to do next. He placed one gauze over the wound, it reached from the top of his wound to a little under his eye. Holding it down, he ripped a bit of tape and taped it down.
Rince and repeat he did it again as he repeated the process, only this time he taped the gauzes together and tapped the bottom of the second one down below, which reached a little over half way from his cheek. Now that the hard part was over he can finish up. Finally, Ash fully taped the gauze down, ensuring it stayed in place and pulled out some bandages.
He wrapped the bandages around his head and slightly under or over the gauzes edges pretty good and tight, just to keep it from bleeding out. Once done, he used something to clip it down and taped it for safe measures. He sighed and looked back at the tape, grabbing it and slipping it into the player. He stayed sitting and looked up at the screen.
It turned on as a faded picture showed, he didn't know what it was, but there was an alarm that blared in the background as people were screaming, causing Ash's face to turn into shock. A voice spoke up "Final log. In relation: 1-0-0-6. The Prototype." Ash perked up and listened along, feeling confused and curious about this 1006.
"Coordination and cooperation is evidently within his skillset, as well as the skillset of all other experiments of his type." Ash felt his blood run cold "e- experiments?!" He spoke up feeling a bunch of mixed emotions starting to form. "Though still missing, today's events are no doubt in relation to him. His absence was a flaw in the scientific process, which should have under no circumstances been left unaccounted for. That's why I'm making this log: So that the same mistake won't be made twice."
Ash felt his heart pound as the sound of pounding suddenly happened and people screaming continued. The man continued "Any future experiments will need to be contained and disposed of in a secure location. I'm not worried about myself. One breakthrough and I'll be back. We must forge onwards in the name of science. Whether those who are beneath us understand it or not. End of-" the log suddenly ended, leaving Ash in a silence.
Ash felt his blood run cold, he felt horrified, confused, angry, and scared. He killed Huggy. Who must've been one of the experiments, that's how and why he was alive. Ash looked down as he felt shame flood him, if he could've he would have calmed Huggy down, and helped him.
He would've brought him with him, out of this place. Ash felt a tear fall down his face from his intact eye. He exhaled and whipped his face. He can't get emotional now, for now he has to move ahead and hope that maybe, just maybe, Huggy lived and he can help him. He doubted it though...
He got up and began walking to the flower, presumably the one place he had to get to. He looked up and around to see toys hanging from the neck, which horrified him even more. He looked forward towards the door, he opened it and was instantly shocked to see that it was a house. This bamboozled him a lot, he was very confused.
Why is there a house in the middle of this factory? He stepped in as he walked forward, going down the stairs continuing to walk forward, but he stopped as he perked up. He heard some sort of music box. "What the-" he murmured as he continued forward, the sound of the music box getting louder and louder. He entered the main area of the place.
There was like a wall with holes in it (I don't know how to describe it) there was a place to sit with cushions and a shelf in front of a door. He hummed as he walked around, seeing a doll house and more cushions. He looked up ahead and saw the lights near the last doors were red. He hesitated walking forward, but knew he had to.
He walked forward as the sound of the music box was louder, he looked up at the lights, seeing that the last two were red. He opened the doors and found more cushions, something with a blanket, and a case. With a doll in it. Ash blinked in confusion and walked over to it. He tried opening the case, but it seemed to be locked.
Ash hummed out in dissatisfaction, he thought for a bit. But then, he remembered the grab pack tutorial. If these are hazardous they are strong. He stepped back, though he knew he was gonna regret this, he shot a hand over, letting go of the trigger after holding it he clicked it again as the hand struggled, but the hand pried the door opened as the lights flickered. The dolls eyes seem to snap open as the lights blew. Ash shouted as he covered his face, feeling his heart starting to race a thousand times per minute.
"You opened my case..." An unknown voice told him.
WOOOOH! I'M DONE! Stay tuned for chapter 4: fly in a web. Until then
