CHAPTER FIVE
Izzy is now standing by her uncle, watching as Peter rang out the water from his mask. He had been dropped into the lake by the person who picked him up. Tony had tracked him down and got him out of the lake. Peter had trouble getting out since the parachute he had activated got all tangled up. Izzy was relieved to see that Peter was oaky though, she had been worried about him.
"And then he just, like, swooped down like a monster..." Peter continues telling Izzy and Tony what happened. "And he picked me up, and took me up like a thousand feet and just dropped me. How'd you find me? Did you put a tracker in my suit or something?"
"I put everything in your suit. Including this heater." Tony admits and immediately Peter felt his suit warm up, causing him to sigh. "And also Izzy called me and told me what happened."
"Izzy!" Peter sent her a look with a frown.
"What? You needed help! And I didn't know where you were!" Izzy defended herself.
"What were you thinking?" Tony asked Peter.
"The guy with wings is the source of the weapons. I gotta take him down." Peter replied.
Tony shakes his head, his tone remaining calm but firm. "Take him down now, huh? Steady, crockett, there are people who handle this sort of thing."
"The Avengers?" Peter inquired.
"No, no, no. This is a little below their pay grade." Tony shrugged.
"Well, anyway, Mr. Stark, you didn't have to come all the way out here. I had that. I was fine." Peter admitted.
"He was not fine," Izzy cut in, her voice firm as she crossed her arms. Peter shot her another look, this time a mix of frustration and embarrassment. "What? You almost drowned, Pete." She added, not backing down.
Peter huffs and crosses his arms, clearly trying to salvage his pride. "I had it under control."
Izzy raises an eyebrow, clearly unimpressed with Peter's attempt to brush off the situation. She puts a hand on her hip, tilting her head to the side. "Really? Because from where I was standing, it looked like you were about two seconds away from becoming fish food."
Peter's cheeks flushes slightly, and he sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "Okay, fine, maybe I was a little in over my head. But I could've figured something out!"
Izzy chuckles, glancing over where the Iron Man suit was. "Anyway, Uncle Tony, you can reveal you're not actually here now."
"What?" Peter furrows his eyebrows, confused by her comment. "What do you mean, not actually here?"
Izzy shakes her head and sighs. "I've learned not to get my hopes up with my uncle. I had a feeling he wasn't going to show up and was probably gonna send one of his robots to do it." She turns her head, not surprised to see the Iron Man suit opening up to reveal Tony wasn't there. "See? Told you. Probably in some paradise island with a drink right now." Izzy muttered. Growing up she was quick to learn that her uncle was distant and she had accepted it a long time ago. She learned the hard way and now she tried not to get her hopes up about spending time with him. It was a bitter pill to swallow, but it was a lesson that Izzy had to learn. One she wished she didn't have to.
"She's right." The face of Tony's suit opens up, revealing Tony wasn't actually there. "Thank God this place has Wi-Fi...Or you would be toast right now. Thank Ganesh while you're at it. Cheers."
Izzy rolled her eyes at her uncle's comments and leans against the monkey bars. She Izzy rolled her eyes at her uncle's comments and leaned against the monkey bars, feeling a familiar pang of disappointment. She tried to act indifferent, but Peter noticed the slight change in her expression. Peter knew that Tony's distant nature bothered her more than she let on. He reached out and squeezed her shoulder, silently trying to comfort her. Izzy glanced up at him and smiled faintly, appreciating the gesture.
"Look, forget the flying vulture guy, please." Tony pleaded.
"Why?"
"Why?" Tony repeats Peter's question. "Because I said so! Sorry, I'm talking to teenagers. Stay close to the ground. Build up your game helping little people, like that lady that bought you the churro. Can't you just be a friendly...Neighborhood Spider-Man?"
"But I'm ready for more than that now." Peter admitted, his voice a mix of frustration and determination
The face to Tony's suit closes. "No, you're not." Izzy starts to speak and as if Tony knew that, he stops her. "Neither are you, Izzy. You're both too young and it's too dangerous."
"That is not what you thought when I took on Captain America." Tony argued.
"Trust me, kid." Tony sighs. "If Cap wanted to lay you out, he would've. Listen to me, if you come across these weapons again, call Happy."
Izzy pushes herself off the monkey bars, eyes widening. Izzy's eyes narrows as she pushed herself off the monkey bars, her expression a mix of surprise and frustration. "Excuse me? 'Too young and too dangerous'. What the h*** is that supposed to mean?" Izzy questions, her tone defensive. "Why were you and Cap fighting over to have me on your team during that fight in Germany? If you didn't think I was ready, why even bother acting like I would be valuable for your team? I-I got trained by Nat and Steve, even Thor helped me with my powers...And now you're telling me I'm too young and it's too dangerous? What happened to all that trust you showed me back then? And with Peter, he's been working so hard, proving himself time and time again. And now you're telling him he's not ready either? What was all that about, Tony? Was it just a game to you? Or are we not good enough to handle real threats now?"
Peter watched with concern as Izzy's emotions continued to bubble to the surface. The blue glow around her eyes flickered as her powers reacted to her heightened state. Peter reaches out and gently places a hand on Izzy's shoulder, his touch a grounding presence amidst her rising frustration. The blue glow around her eyes dimmed slightly, but the intensity of her feelings was still palpable. He could feel her trembling, could see the hurt in her eyes as she stared at her uncle. And it made his heart ache. "Izzy, try taking some deep breaths." He murmurs, trying to keep his tone soft and soothing. "I know you're upset, but getting yourself worked up isn't going to help anything."
She didn't immediately respond, her breaths coming in uneven bursts as she fought to control her emotions. The blue glow around her eyes fluctuated with her rising distress, and Peter could see the effort it took for her to calm herself. She couldn't help it, the frustration and disappointment were too strong to ignore. She felt betrayed by her uncle's words. Her shoulders trembled as she took a deep breath and tried to relax, and Peter kept a comforting hand on her shoulder the whole time.
"Izzy, c'mon, just look at me, okay?" Peter spoke again, his voice a bit firmer this time as he climbed off the monkey bars to get closer to her, forgetting about the fact he was recovering from almost drowning. Peter's focus was solely on Izzy, his concern overriding his own discomfort. The electricity around her fingertips crackled with an unsettling energy, and her eyes glowed a fierce blue. Peter knew from experience that Izzy's powers could become volatile when she was upset. But he wasn't afraid, he would never be scared of her.
Izzy listened, her eyes looking into his and started to calm down more. The electricity mixed with lightning in her glowing blue eyes slowly started to fade away, and the sparks around her fingers dissipated slowly but surely while he guided her through breathing exercises. When her eyes were back to normal, he gently pulled her in for a hug. She hugs him back and buries her face into his chest, feeling embarrassed and upset. It was frustrating, how her powers could get out of control so easily. "I'm sorry." She muttered, her voice muffled.
"Don't apologize, it's not your fault. I know it's a lot to handle." Peter replies, resting his chin on the top of her head. "I'm always here for you, you know that, right?" Peter asks, his tone gentle. Izzy nodded, but didn't reply. She was still trying to calm herself down, not wanting to risk losing control of her emotions. "Good. 'Cause I'll always be there for you." He murmured, leaning down to kiss the top of her head. It was a brief and chaste kiss, but it was enough to make Izzy feel a little better. She smiled faintly, a warm feeling spreading throughout her.
"Thank you, Peter." Izzy mumbles, her voice muffled as she rested her forehead against his chest. "You're the best."
"Anytime." Peter smiled and gently pulled away, his hands resting on her shoulders. He could tell she was feeling a bit better, and the blue glow around her eyes was completely gone now.
"Lightning bug, I didn't mean it like that." Tony's voice made Izzy realize his suit was still there, and her cheeks flushed in embarrassment. She was hoping her uncle wouldn't say anything about her little outburst, but clearly she wasn't that lucky. "Look, I know you've trained and everything, but it's just too risky for you two right now. It's not about questioning your abilities. It's about the kind of risks you're facing and making sure you're ready for them. Sometimes the threats out there are more dangerous than you might expect, and I don't want to see either of you getting hurt."
Izzy takes a deep breath, her cheeks still flushed from the emotional display but her expression softening. "I get that you're trying to protect us, but it feels like you're holding us back. It's frustrating when it seems like you don't trust us."
"I do, it's just...I also know that being in the field isn't the same as training. The world is unpredictable, and even with all the training, things can go wrong fast. You've proven yourselves, but it's a matter of timing and experience-"
"But how can we gain that experience if you won't let us?" Izzy interrupts Tony, pausing and her eyes widening when she heard a car engine revved in the back ground. "Uncle Tony, are you freaking kidding me?"
"Are you driving?" Peter asked with surprise.
Tony ignores their questions. "You know, it's never too early to start thinking about college. I got some pull at MIT. End call."
"No, I don't need to go to-"
"Mr. Stark is no longer connected." Friday interrupted Peter.
"Unbelievable!" Izzy threw her arms up in frustration as the call ended abruptly. She glared at the now silent spot where Tony's suit once was since it had just left. Her uncle's lack of consideration and communication skills was incredibly frustrating, and his sudden departure was just the cherry on top of her frustration. She groaned and covered her face with her hands, her frustration threatening to overwhelm her again. She felt like she was going to scream.
Peter gently places a hand on her shoulder, squeezing it lightly. "Hey, you okay?"
"Just peachy." Izzy replied sarcastically, her tone clipped.
Peter frowns and wraps an arm around her shoulders. "He's just trying to look out for us."
"I know." Izzy sighs, leaning into Peter's embrace. "It's just...Frustrating. One minute he's telling us we're good enough to be part of the team, and the next he's treating us like children who can't handle themselves. It's so infuriating!"
Peter nods, understanding her frustration. "I know. It's like he's giving us mixed messages. One second he's telling us we're good enough, the next he's saying we're not."
Izzy sighs heavily and shakes her head. "Let's just get out of here." She muttered, her tone resigned.
Peter nods and squeezes her shoulder. "Okay." He replied softly.
While walking home, Peter and Izzy came across something on the ground. It was making a low humming noise, and when Peter turned it over, there was a purple glow in it. It looked like some kind of weapon. Then Peter's phone rang and he answered it after seeing it was Ned. Izzy grimaced after she could faintly hear Flash shout 'When I say 'penis' you say 'parker." Looks like even after what her uncle said Flash wouldn't listen and stop messing with Peter. Even when Peter wasn't there. After the phone call, Izzy put a comforting hand on Peter's shoulder and she didn't say anything when he leaned his head on her shoulder as they continued walking.
****
The next day in workshop at school, Izzy watched as Peter used a hammer to destroy the device he and Izzy found the night before. "Do you know what you're doing?" She asked.
"Not at all." Peter admitted and Izzy hummed in response, crossing her arms.
"Hey, thanks for bailing on me." Ned said to Peter, walking over to the two teens. "At least Izzy came through and had her uncle show up." He sends a smile to Izzy. "Which was so cool by the way." Izzy grinned back at him.
"Yeah, well, something came up." Peter admitted.
"What is that?" Ned questioned, looking down at the device.
"I don't know. Some guy tried to vaporize me and Izzy with it." Peter answered, continuing to work on the device
"Seriously?" Ned's eyes widened and Izzy nodded in response.
"Yeah." Peter replied.
"Awesome." Ned said, earning a look from his friends. "I mean, not awesome. Heh, totally uncool of that guy. So scary."
"Well, I think it's a...A power source." Peter admitted.
"Yeah, but it' connected to all these microprocessors." Ned notes. "That's an inductive charging plate. That's what I use to charge my toothbrush."
Izzy raises her eyebrows at him, tilting her head to the side. "Really?" Ned nodded and smiled in response.
"Whoever's making these weapons is combining alien tech with ours." Peter realized.
"That is literally the coolest sentence anyone has ever said." Ned comments. "I just want to thank you for letting me to be part of your journey...Into this amazing-"
After Peter hit the device with the hammer again, it sparked a little and made a loud noise, causing the trio to back away. They glance at their teacher nervously. Luckily, he didn't even look over from the magazine he was reading. "Keep your fingers clear of the blades."
"It's concerning that he doesn't even care." Izzy admitted and her friends nodded in agreement.
Peter looks at her. "We gotta figure out what this is and who makes it."
"We'll go to the lab after class and run tests." Ned suggested and he and Peter then did their handshake they had.
****
"First, we put the glowy thingy in the mass spectrometer." Ned started, walking beside Izzy and Peter in the hallway.
"We gotta come up with a better name than 'glowy thingy'." Peter sighed.
"You're right." Ned agreed.
"Okay," Izzy said. "What about the...The 'alien gem'?" She suggests and the boys nodded.
The trio stopped when two men walked around a corner. "Crap." Peter's eyes widened, quickly moving to hide behind the corner and Izzy was quick to follow. Peter whispered for Ned to follow as well.
"High schools creep me out." One of the men said. The trio peeks past the corner to look at the men, but make sure they're still hidden. "They got this funny smell, you know?"
Then they each lean against the wall. "Hey, that's one of the guys that tried to kill us." Peter realized, glancing at Izzy, who nodded in agreement.
Ned stares at them with wide eyes. "What?"
"Yeah." Peter replied.
"We gotta get out of here." Ned said worriedly.
"No, no, no, we gotta follow them. They can lead us to the guy that dropped me in the lake." Peter spoke, glancing at Izzy.
"We?" Izzy's eyes widen, feeling panicked at what he meant by that. "Why would I wanna go after two guys who tried to kill us? I mean, my uncle said stay low, and I'm pretty sure going after these guys is the opposite of that."
"Someone dropped you in a lake?" Ned gasped.
"Yeah, it was not good." Peter admitted.
The trio watched as the two men walked into a room. "Peter-" Ned started when Peter started to walk around the corner.
"No. Stay there, Ned." Peter said, walking around the corner. "Izzy?"
"Yeah, yeah, I'm going." Izzy reluctantly followed Peter. She had no choice but to follow him. He was her best friend and if he got hurt or worse, she'd blame herself for not being there to protect him. She followed him down the stairs, both being cautious to not being caught.
"Can you imagine what the boss would say if he knew where we were?" One of the men asked.
"It's saying there was an energy pulse here." The other man said, looking at a device he held.
"There's no sign of the weapon. And even if it was here, now it's gone." The first man spoke.
"So are we." His friend agreed. They both turned to the stairs where Izzy and Peter were just seconds ago. Thankfully, they managed to hide. Peter had stuck to the bottom of a table and Izzy pressed a button on her watch, turning herself invisible. It was a new ability she had been working on to put with her suit, making it where when she had her watch on she could turn invisible at the press of the button. And she was so thankful it worked now.
The two men looked around, confused. But they must've been convinced no one was there, because they headed up the stairs. Peter then shot out a tracker spider on one of the men's shoes before they were gone. Once the two men were gone, the watch stopped glowing and Izzy became visible again.
"Oh, man." Peter breathed out a sigh of relief, looking over at Izzy, who did the same.
"That was close." She muttered.
****
Izzy was going to go over to Peter's so they could track where the two guys were going so they could stop them but she needed to prepare for the Academic Decathlon trip. She was currently in her room, sitting on her bed with books and papers spread out around her. Her blue colored suitcase was on the floor beside the bed but it was empty. She was too busy studying to even hear her older brother, Callum, knock on her open door.
"Hey, sis," He looks at the books she's flipping through and looks at the Academic Decathlon poster on the wall and pieced everything together. "You studying last minute for the D.C. trip?"
"Yes." Izzy huffs, running a hand through her brunette hair. "I just can't help but feel like I'm gonna forget all this when I'm on stage. What if I forget everything in front of everyone and ruin everything? What if-"
"Hey, hey," Callum walks further into the room and sits beside his sister. He puts a comforting arm around her shoulders and pulls her close. "You'll do fine, sis. You always do. You just have to keep calm and you'll know everything you need to."
Izzy sighs and leans against her brother's shoulder. "You really think so?" She twirled a piece of her hair between her fingers, worry visible on her face.
"I know so," Callum reassures her with a gentle smile. "You've always been brilliant, Izzy. Plus, you've been preparing for this trip for weeks. Just trust in yourself."
"I'll try," Izzy nods, feeling a bit more reassured by her brother's words. "It's just...There's a lot of pressure. And nerve-wracking. And I just don't wanna let anyone down."
"I get it," Callum nods sympathetically. "But you're strong, sis. You've always been able to handle whatever life throws at you."
"Thanks, Cal." Izzy smiles and wraps her arms around her brother, hugging him. "You always know how to make me feel better."
"I try," Callum chuckles, returning the hug. "Plus, you're smart and brilliant, sis. You've got this."
"Alright, I guess I'll just have to trust myself." Izzy sighs, pulling away from her brother. "Thanks for the encouragement."
"Anytime, sis," Callum pats her on the shoulder. "I'm always here for you."
Izzy smiles at him. "And I'm always here for you. If you need anything."
Callum returns the smile. "Same here, sis." His gaze went to her empty suitcase. "So, I take it you haven't finished packing yet."
"Not yet," Izzy sighs, looking at the suitcase. "I was planning to but...I wanted to get more studying done and the time just flew by and-"
"Hey, don't stress," Callum reassures her, giving her a comforting smile. "You'll get it done, sis. Don't worry. But you might as well take a break and pack. The trip is tomorrow, after all. Plus you need a break, it seems like you've been studying for along time."
"Yeah, I guess," Izzy nods, getting up from her bed and walking over to her suitcase. "Thanks, Cal. You're right. A break sounds nice."
"Of course I'm right," Callum smirks and Izzy rolls her eyes. "But seriously, I'm glad you're taking a break, sis. You've been studying like crazy for weeks."
"I just want to do the best I can," Izzy sighs, unzipping her suitcase and grabbing clothes to pack. "This trip is important, and I don't want to mess anything up."
"You'll do great, Izzy," Callum gives her a reassuring smile. "I have no doubt you will." He gets up off the bed and heads to the door. "Well, I'll let you finish packing. Just remember, sis, you'll do great and everything will be fine. You just have to trust in yourself."
"Thanks, Cal," Izzy smiles at him, nodding. "And I'll keep your advice in mind." She pauses before continuing. "Thanks for cheering me up, big bro."
"Anytime, sis," Callum grins, giving her a wink. "That's what big brothers are for."
"Speaking of big brothers, where is Zander? I haven't seen him all evening." Izzy noted, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh, he's hanging out. He said something about meeting up with a girl." Callum shrugged.
"Of course," Izzy laughs, shaking her head. "Sounds like him." She knew her oldest brother, Zander, had a habit of going to clubs and having one night stands with girls. But lately, she couldn't help but notice that he'd been spending a lot of time with this one girl, and she had a feeling there was something more going on.
"Yeah," Callum chuckles. "Don't worry, though. He'll probably show up just in time to say goodbye before your trip."
Izzy nods, a small smile playing on her lips. "Well, I'll get this packing done so I can relax a bit before bed. Thanks again, Cal. You're the best."
Callum grins. "Anytime, sis. Remember, you've got this. Good luck on your trip, and have fun. You'll do amazing."
With a final hug, Callum left Izzy to her packing. She took a deep breath and started organizing her clothes and other essentials for the trip. As she packed, she felt a mixture of excitement and nerves about the upcoming competition and the adventure in D.C. Despite the pressure, Izzy knew she had the support of her brothers and friends. That thought gave her the boost of confidence she needed. She was determined to make the most of the trip, both in terms of the competition and the mystery she was unraveling with Peter and Ned.
****
When Izzy was done with packing and studying some more, she went over to Peter's place to hang out with him and Ned and try to find out where these mysterious guys were going to. "This is so awesome." Ned gushed, grinning at the holographic view of the city. Peter plopped down on his bed by him, smiling.
"I know, right?" Ned touched the hologram, making it rise up. Izzy noticed where the two men were at, seeing a red dot on the state of New York.
"It looks like they're in Brooklyn right now." Izzy murmured. She was sat on Peters bed, leaning against the wall with her sketchbook on her lap. She resumed to her drawing, using color pencils from the color pencil bag she brought with her. She was in the middle of sketching out a new suit design she had in mind for herself.
At one point, Izzy realized Peter had moved up to the top bunk of his bed, jumping and was startled when he suddenly hung over the edge. "Dude, you're gonna give me a heart attack if you keep doing that." She huffed.
"Sorry." He smiles apologetically at her, his gaze flickering to her sketch. "New suit design? Looks really cool. It suits you." He commented, looking back at her with a fond smile. He noticed the slight tint of pink that appeared on her cheeks at his compliment and his lips curved upwards, feeling happy that she was blushing because of him. He didn't notice Ned's amused look, who was looking at him from his spot on the floor.
"Yeah, it's almost done." Izzy replied, trying not to sound nervous and instead she smiled at her friend. Her cheeks were still warm and the feeling didn't go away even when she went back to drawing. She tried to focus on her drawing, but it was hard. All she could think about was Peter's sweet compliment, his adorable smile and how cute he was. Why was he so cute and sweet and just an overall amazing person?
Peter hadn't realized he was staring at her longer than necessary until Ned had reached over to hit his arm, a knowing smirk on his face. Peter blushed, looking away from Izzy as he gestured for Ned to bring the bag of red Doritos closer to him so he could grab some. Ned does as he wanted, looking back at the small device he held and noticed the guys had moved.
"Staten Island."
****
The rest of the day, the three best friends hung out in Peter's room, every once in awhile Ned or Izzy will speak up, announcing where those guys were located. Izzy was too busy drawing most of the time so Ned usually was the one speaking up. It was now dark outside and Izzy hadn't moved from her position on the bed.
"Yay, done. Finally!" She beamed, turning her sketchbook around to show the boys, who glanced over at her from what they were doing. Ned had been laying on the ground, building Legos while Peter was at his desk, working on making something to add to his web shooters. When he was done, he walked over to his bed, sitting beside Izzy and looked at the sketchbook.
"Woah." Peter breathes out, his eyes wide in awe as he took in the design of the suit. "Wow, that looks amazing." He said, looking up at Izzy, who smiled in return. "I love the design." He always admired her artistic talent. She could draw anything, and it would always turn out amazing. He would often watch her draw, completely fascinated by the ease with which she brought her ideas to life on paper.
"Thanks, Pete." Izzy's smile grew as she glanced down at her sketch, happy and flattered he liked her design. "I was thinking of making some modifications to my suit to include some of the new tech I've been working on."
"Like the invisibility thing you did at school?" Ned asked, standing from his spot on the floor and walked over. He too looked at the sketch in amazement, his mouth gaping open and his eyes widening. Both Izzy and Peter looked at him with amusement while Izzy smiled shyly, surprised her best friends liked her sketch so much.
"Yep. Then it can be included in my suit and not just on my watch." Izzy explained.
"Wow, that would be awesome. You'll have to show us when it's finished." Peter grinned.
"Definitely. I was also thinking of including a grappling hook and maybe some other cool gadgets. What do you guys think?" She asked her friends, who's eyes widened with excitement.
"Oh, dude, yes. Adding a grappling hook would be so cool." Ned gushes, handing the sketchbook back to Izzy. "I can't wait to see it when it's finished."
"Me too." Peter agreed.
Izzy couldn't help but smile at the support she was getting from her best friends. Izzy couldn't help but smile at the support she was getting from her best friends. "Thanks, guys. Your feedback means a lot to me." She carefully closes her sketchbook and set it aside, feeling a sense of accomplishment. "I'll definitely show you once I start building it."
"Great." Ned grins at her and glances back at the device he had been watching, noticing the guys were on the move. "Leaving Jersey." He announced, resuming building Legos.
****
Izzy wasn't sure when she had fallen asleep, but the next time she woke up when she heard a beeping noise from the tracking device. She sat up straighter in bed, trying to blink the sleep out of her eyes. Ned had fallen asleep as well after trying on Peter's Spider-Man mask and he sat up on the bed, grabbing the tracking device. His head had been laying on Izzy's legs, but she didn't really care.
"They stopped." He called out.
Peter looks down at them from hanging out on the ceiling. "Huh." He furrows his eyebrows at seeing where the guys were. "Maryland?"
"Wonder why they would be there." Izzy mumbled sleepily, rubbing the sleep out of her eyes. Peter's gaze flickered to her, thinking she was even more adorable when she was tired and had a sleepy look on her face. He quickly looked away when he felt his cheeks warming up.
"Yeah," Ned nods in agreement. "What's there?"
"I don't know." Peter mumbles, shrugging. "Evil lair?" He chuckled.
"They have a lair?" Ned asked with surprise.
"Dude, a gang with alien guns...Run by a guy with wings? Yeah. They have a lair." Peter replied in an obvious tone.
"Bada**." Ned commented.
"Or maybe they're the villains who are trying to be not like all the other villains and not have a lair." Izzy yawns, leaning her head against Ned's shoulder since she had scooted closer to the edge of the bed to look at the tracking device but was still tired. "I mean, it's an option."
Peter and Ned chuckled at Izzy's sleepy but still witty remark. "But how are you gonna get there if it's, like, three hundred miles away?" Ned questioned.
"Decathlon team is having this thing in DC remember?" Izzy mumbled sleepily, closing her eyes. At her comment, the two boys quickly looked over at a flyer Peter had posted on his wall as a reminder and that was when Peter knew what he needed to do. He was going to try to get back on the team at the last second.
A/N i love this trio so much
