Epilogue
Dedicated to CT-5385 for being here for me, not only for Elegant, but for every one of my little stories. I won't forget you.
Dedicated to Simp4CaptainRex because of the hilarious comments I get. When you write your own thing, I'll be there for you with (hopefully) just as great comments.
Dedicated to Sun-fl0w3r_ for getting attached to all my OCs sooner than anyone else. I promise to do the same *cough* Sharon *cough*
And dedicated to all my other readers who I cherish just as much as the three above.
Karina recovered quicker than the doctor thought she would. She credited Wolffe for it, considering he was a dutiful partner while she was on bed rest. He was always hovering by her side.
Mary's son was recovered, but she was still in prison. Her sentence was lightened due to the blackmail, but Karina didn't let her get off completely. She needed to set an example.
The clones mourned Crease for a while, but moved on eventually. It was easier to move on than with Sinker because Crease had betrayed them.
Rex babysat Parja occasionally when Wolffe and Karina wanted a date night, but they never left his girlfriend alone with Parja. Sometimes they left Parja with the clones that stayed with Wolffe on Twilam, but not for long periods of time.
Wolffe became her unofficial bodyguard, much to her annoyance and delight. She got to spend more time with him, but at the same time, he was even more protective.
"Wolffe," Karina softly said one day as she wandered into the nursery. "What are you doing?"
Wolffe blinked at her. "What do you mean?"
She waved a hand at him. "You're shirtless with our daughter on your chest."
"It's called skin-to-skin bonding," Wolffe told her. "It helps your bond with your child grow."
Karina sighed and shook her head. "And where did you hear about this?"
"I spoke to the doctor about it."
"And why were you talking to the doctor?"
Wolffe smiled sheepishly. "Because Parja's forehead felt warm."
"She's always like that after a nap," Karina reminded him, gently lifting her daughter into her arms. "We've been over this before."
Wolffe kissed her before pursing his lips. He seemed to consider something for a moment before he reached into his pocket. "I didn't want to do this now, but I can't think of another time. I also don't want to wait."
Karina's lips quirked slightly. "Oh?"
He held out a small box. Her breath hitched as she watched him open it.
"Maker," Karina whispered. "Wolffe... I love you."
He smiled and plucked the object out of the box. "And I love you."
She inspected the knitting needles in his hand. "I love you, but I'm outraged you're giving these to me."
His eyes widened slightly. "Mesh'la-"
"It's sweet, but I hated knitting. My mother always made me do it." Karina kissed his cheek before resting her head on his shoulder.
"Oh." Wolffe snapped the needles in half. "Well in that case, forget I did that."
Karina laughed and placed Parja down in the crib, pulling the blankets over her. "Come on. I have a new book to read on my datapad."
Wolffe perked up and followed after her as she walked to their room. "Hot chocolate too?"
"Always." Karina turned her head to grin at him.
I originally had a different ending for Elegant. Karina had lived, but her live had changed. She developed PTSD and didn't want anyone to touch her. She separated herself from Wolffe and woke up in the middle of the night due to nightmares of Crease's face leering over her.
Wolffe's face.
She was scared of him, and he was insulted that she felt that way. They broke up due to no longer being able to be near each other.
Instead I chose to go with this happier version, because I couldn't do that to Wolffe and Karina. They deserve a happy ending after everything I've put them through.
I might make bonus chapters or something, and I'll announce on my message board if and when I do that. The book will still be marked as finished for now tho. Keep an eye out for the bonus chapters.
Anyways, thank you all for sticking with me. I love you all ❤️
