Memes by Sun-fl0w3r_ who is very funny.

And let it begin.

Tw: Violence, blood, death, angst.

The shuttle shook as they travelled through hyperspace. After sneaking into the ship, they had hidden away in crates of supplies. Wolffe's chest was tight with anticipation and dread. Karina had been experiencing symptoms that signalled she was within a week a labor, and he had been hesitant to leave her side.

"Guys," Boost whispered. "Do we go left or right after we sneak off the ship?"

"Left," Wolffe quietly answered, clutching his blaster tightly. He ran a gloved finger along the side of the weapon as his mind swirled with thoughts.

"Hey." Sinker, who was in the same crate as him, nudged him gently. "You alright?"

"Yeah." Wolffe nodded, blinking. He was glad for the helmet covering his face.

"You sure? Because I've farted like three times in this thing and you haven't noticed any of them." Sinker giggled.

"The helmet filters air," Wolffe said with a heavy sigh. "And Sinker, you laugh under your breath every time you fart. It's not discrete at all."

Sinker's helmet turned to face Wolffe and he was about to reply as the entire ship rattled with a not-so-graceful landing.

"Remember the plan," Wolffe called out as he lifted the lid off the crate he and Sinker were sitting in. "Left until we can regroup."

The others all crawled out of their own crates and hit the button to open the ramp to the cargo bay. The workers that were there to unload all cried out as the fully armoured clones charged towards them, stunning those in their path.

"Left!" Comet screamed over the chaos. He groaned before yelling, "Sinker! Your other left!"

"I knew that!" Sinker shouted. He ran past Venom to Comet's side. "I totally knew that."

All of the workers had been taken care of, so Wolffe let his shoulder relax for a millisecond before he regathered himself. "Okay, men, women, and thems! Do a quick check of your equipment before we move on!"

Venom raised their hand, looking around. "I remember the way back to the lab. It's that way." They pointed down the corridor, grimacing.

"Then that's where we'll go." Wolffe led the charge as he jogged the way Venom had pointed.

They arrived at the lab minutes later, mildly surprised to see it empty. The lights were still on, though, and a vial of blood rested on a table.

Comet picked it up, frowning faintly. "It's still warm. They must've just left."

The lights to the whole facility turned off before fading back into a dull red. Sirens began blaring, and they knew the surprise attack was no longer unexpected.

"Is there a holding area?" Wolffe questioned Flare. "Somewhere that Sunshine might be?"

Flare swallowed. "Yes, sir. East of here."

"A small group of us will go there next. The others will go to the hanger to prevent any possible escapes. Use the groups we practised in," Wolffe ordered. "Kill the Kaminoans if you have- Actually, we don't need them alive. Do whatever you want."

Crease's forehead wrinkled in concern. He knew the Kaminoans were cruel, but he still believed they should be allowed a chance. And yet a piece of him, the part that was still bruised from his childhood trauma, whispered that this was his chance. His chance for revenge.

But he pushed those thoughts aside, focusing his attention on Wolffe.

Crease, Wolffe, Sinker, and Venom made their way to the holding area. It was less of a prison, and more of a container for any experiments that... went awry

They opened room after room, hoping to see Sunshine's bright smile, but found no sign of him. Wolffe was starting to lose hope, when they reached the last room.

Venom pressed the button to open it and their breath hitched when they saw Sunshine in the corner, staring at the wall. "Sunshine?"

The young clone turned, his gassy eyes locking on them. "Venom? You... You came back?"

"Of course." Venom rushed into the room, hugging their brother. "Did you really think we'd leave you?"

Sunshine shook his head frantically as tears spilled down his face. "I- I didn't want to, b-but the Kaminoans said-"

"No one cares what the Kaminoans say. What matters is that we're here now, and it's time to bring you home," Wolffe cut in.

"We have a home now. You'll love it." Crease smiled widely. "Snow! There's snow!"

"Snow?" Sunshine croaked.

"Yeah. Snow." Sinker placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. "It's beautiful."

"We should go." Wolffe glanced to the door. "We need to get out of here before the Kaminoans locate us."

Sunshine hiccuped. "They already have."

"What?" Wolffe demanded.

"They have cameras. They're probably just waiting for you to enter a deadlier area." Sunshine wiped his tears and stood. "Don't go south. Even the Kaminoans avoid it."

"Noted." Wolffe handed Sunshine his spare pistol. "Don't lose this, got it?"

"Understood, sir." Sunshine wrapped his fingers around it, slightly reassured now that he was armed.

"Uh, Wolffe?" Warthog's voice sounded wary as it came from the comm. "We have a problem."

"What is it?" Wolffe tiredly asked, lifting it to his mouth.

"We got lost. We're in the southern part of the-"

Wolffe cursed. "I'll be there soon."

Sinker's eyes narrowed. "Isn't that the most dangerous part?"

"Yes." Wolffe herded them into the hallway. "I'll be at the hanger as soon as I can, with the others."

"There's more. We, um, also might've set off the self-destruct feature. We have twenty minutes before this whole place blows up."

Sunshine winced as a flurry of curses he'd never even heard before flew from Wolffe's mouth.

"Okay, if I'm not back in fifteen minutes you leave without us, got it?" Wolffe used his commander voice, one of serious intent.

"Yes, sir," they all responded.

And then Wolffe was gone, racing away to find his missing troopers.

Sinker watched him carefully, running his tongue along his teeth as he thought.

Twenty.

Nineteen.

Eighteen.

There was eighteen minutes left.

Wolffe's jaw was tensed as he sprinted. His breathing was turning ragged as he tried not to panic. He was better than this, damn it. He was an experienced soldier of the GAR. Why was he anxious?

Perhaps it was to his daughter that would be here soon. Perhaps it was Karina that was making his feel this way. He had so much more at stake than he used to.

Seventeen minutes.

"Wolffe!" Boost waved before he and the others hurried to him. "Thank the Maker you found us."

"Let's go," Wolffe sharply said. "We don't have a lot of time."

Boost nodded immediately. "You found Sunshine?"

"Yes. He's with the others." Wolffe did a quick count of how many were with Boost before giving a satisfied nod. "Everyone's here. Follow me."

Then they were running again.

"Wolffe. We might want to pick up the pace," Warthog warned.

Wolffe glanced over his shoulder to see the floors electrifying, one panel at a time. "Move it!"

He slowed his pace a fraction to make sure the others passed him. He wanted - no, needed - for everyone to make it out alive. If he was at the back, he could be absolutely certain that everyone made it to the hanger.

And he leaped to the safe patch of floor, to where the others were panting.

"Okay, let's keep going. We can't stop," Wolffe said, breathing heavily.

They all screamed as the ground beneath them collapsed, and they almost fell to the ground beneath on the level below them. Thankfully, they were able to grab the ledges of the broken panels, and pulled themselves up.

Except Wolffe.

Wolffe had no such luck.

He was falling.

He knew this was how he would die.

Wolffe closed his eyes, not wanting to see his death coming as the floor grew closer.

Then suddenly he lurched as something snagged his arm. His eyes fluttered open to see Sinker staring down at him with his hand around Wolffe's wrist.

"I've got you," Sinker said with a grin. His helmet was missing from his head. Wolffe faintly registered it as against field regulation before blinking.

Sinker started to pull Wolffe up, falling backwards as Wolffe landed on him. Wolffe rolled to the side groaning.

"I'm getting too old for this," Wolffe said, tossing as arm out to pat Sinker's shoulder. "Thanks."

Sinker heaved Wolffe up to his feet, smiling proudly. "We should get going. We only have twelve minutes."

"You'll regret betraying your creators," a  speaker embedded in the ceiling said. It was a Kaminoan. "We have extra security  in place..."

Blasters lowered from above them, targeting system locking on.

"Run!" Wolffe shouted.

They bolted, running in the direction of the hanger. Wolffe glanced behind him as he ran, just in time to see a shot hit Sinker between the shoulder blades.

Sinker's eyes widened and his lips parted.

He stumbled and fell.

All the way down the hole.

He landed with a sickening crunch on the floor below.

Blood pooled around him, limbs twisted at odd angles.

Wolffe's throat was burning. Why? What was wrong?

Oh, right. He was screaming. He was screaming his dead brother's name as he was being dragged away. Warthog and Boost, both crying, were dragging him away.

Don't worry. It wasn't your fault. I was planning on doing it anyways.

Anyways.

Don't hate me?
