Lmao enjoy this chapter of Wolffe dealing with pregnant Karina because I was feeling sad so I wrote this fluffy stuff.
And before you ask, no I'm not ok. I found out... that my favourite character in a book was the villain.
And I loved him so much 😭
Why was I surprised tho.
His name was literally Villain.
Anyways.
Tw: Pregnancy, language, adorable clones that will make you feel lonely
Wolffe impatiently tapped his foot, helmet on. He also had his blasters out and was grilling them tightly, fingers hovering near the triggers. This was one of the most stressful times of his life.
He wasn't afraid of the whole Arnold and Benedict scenario, oh no, he was satisfied they were secure. A couple of rotations ago he had personally checked to make sure they couldn't escape. He was staying here with Karina for the time being, just because... he wanted to. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
He just hadn't told her that.
Wolffe blinked that thought away. He couldn't afford to be distracted right now. Not when the stakes were so high.
"Kriff you!" Karina screamed through the door, throwing something against it inside her room. "Do you even care about me? Do you even care about our baby?"
Wolffe sighed, slipping his helmet off. "Mesh'la, I promise-"
"Oh, now you're making promises?" He winced at the sarcasm dripping off her tongue. "Like how you promised condoms work?"
Okay, that was a low blow.
She also believed they worked when they went down that road and-
Focus.
"Mesh'la, please come out so we can talk about this," Wolffe soothed. "It was a mistake. I didn't mean it!"
She sniffled. "You promise?"
Oh, so now his promises meant something?
Wolffe bit his tongue, not wanting to make things worse. "Of course."
Karina slowly opened the door, wiping at her red and swollen eyes. "I- I hate you."
Wolffe slipped his weapons away and held out his arms. "Mhm."
Karina hiccuped, clinging to him. "Y- You shouldn't have done that."
Wolffe nodded. "Of course."
"You promise you'll never do it again?" Karina peeled away to stare up into his eyes.
"I promise," Wolffe solemnly vowed. "I swear upon my life that I shall never put seasoning on your potatoes again without your consent."
Karina kissed him. "Thank you."
"So this is hot chocolate?" Sinker asked in wonder after taking a sip.
Wolffe bobbed his head. "Yes. Your life is forever changed."
Boost grinned. "I love this."
"This is amazing." Comet peered into his cup. "Wow... I don't have words for it."
Wolffe opened his mouth to say something before his comm buzzed. He stepped out of earshot for a minute before returning, his expression one of dangerous seriousness.
"What is it?" Warthog worriedly asked. "Is something wrong?"
Wolffe sighed. "It was Karina. She needs me to pick up seasoning from the market. Her potatoes are bland apparently."
Comet frowned. "Didn't she... refuse to have seasoned potatoes?"
Wolffe downed the rest of his drink. "Yes. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to run down to the market."
Wolffe knew this would be how he died. How could he have made such a mistake? Oh, shit, she was turning around. Oh, no, she was looking up at him with wide eyes.
Kark, should he run?
"What did you say?" Karina whispered, clutching her shirt in her hands.
Wolffe was terrified. "Uh, I- I just said- Uh-"
Karina held up a hand. "Was that a joke, or do you really think so?"
Shit.
Was this a trap. Was he supposed to say what he thought or what she wanted to hear? What did she even want to hear?
She was narrowing her eyes.
He had seconds to respond.
"I really do think that." Wolffe cringed as soon as the words fell from his mouth. "Yes, you have one."
Karina's eyes watered.
Wolffe's entire body tensed. "Mesh'la, I'm so sorry-"
"Don't be." Karina smiled softly at her reflection in the mirror. "I... I don't hate it."
A bump had started to form, and Wolffe was suddenly glad he'd commented on it. He smiled the tiniest bit and stood behind her, wrapping his arms around her. He placed his chin on her shoulder. "She'll be kind like her mother."
"He'll be sweet like his father," Karina shot back.
Wolffe kissed the side of her neck. "It's a girl."
"It's a boy." Karina craned her neck and twisted slightly around to kiss his mouth.
"I don't care," Wolffe relented. "As long as they're healthy."
"Right." Karina grinned mischievously, making eye contact in the mirror. "She'll be loved, too."
"Girl."
"Boy."
"Girl."
"Boy."
"Why do you even care?" Comet eventually asked with a sigh.
"I want a girl because I've grown up with thousands of brothers." Wolffe gave a pointed look to Sinker, who had gotten his tongue stuck on a frozen piece of metal.
"I don't really care. Wolffe's just cute when he's mad," Karina said in a hushed voice to Warthog.
Warthog wrinkled his nose. "Weird, but okay I guess."
"Besides, we'll know today. I have an appointment with the doctor." Karina grabbed Wolffe's hand, pulling her along to the door. "See you boys after we find out!"
Wolffe gave her a disgruntled look as he was pulled along, but didn't let go of her hand.
"It's totally a girl," Sinker confidently said after finally freeing himself of the frozen metal.
"Just because you said that, it's a boy," Boost absently said, ordering another hot chocolate.
"Girl," Sinker argued.
"Boy," Boost retorted.
"Girl."
"Boy."
"Maker," Comet muttered, shaking his head.
"It's a girl," the doctor announced in the office, holding out the datapad.
Wolffe gave Karina a smug look. "I kriffing knew it."
Karina rolled her eyes and put her hands on her stomach. "Whatever. She'll say momma first, anyway."
"Nope. It'll be buir." Wolffe smirked, stroking her hair away from her face.
"We'll see," was all Karina replied with.
"Wait, so am I an uncle or an aunt?" Sinker wondered once he had heard the news.
"You're never babysitting," Wolffe declared.
