So... uh...

Yeah.

I don't know what to say.

After writing this chapter, I feel weird inside. Sad, I think. I'm literally crying.

Tw: Child abuse, electrocuting people, a bit of gore if you squint, sad stuff, self-loathing, ANGST.

Adult glanced up from the floor he was scrubbing, wiping his forehead with the back of his hand. He sat back on his heels as he frowned at Friendly and Crease. "They need us again?"

Crease nodded.

"Hey!" Adult yelled, slowly standing up. "They need us!"

Tricks, Moon, Wiggle, Venom, Flare, and Sunshine all made their way over.

Since Kamino's destruction and them being taken to this new city, the young children had all grown. The youngest were around biologically ten years old, while the oldest appeared roughly sixteen.

Venom's hair had grown to cover his face slightly to cover the scar he had over his right eye.

Tricks, Moon, and Wiggle had each taken to pranking their brothers. It was annoying, but helped with stress.

Friendly had gone blind, due to some experiments the Kaminoans inflicted upon him. He struggled to get around because the Kaminoans hadn't taught him how to navigate the newly darkened galaxy.

Crease had grown to hate himself. He was defective, after all. That's all he heard lately. He was defective and a failure and everything in him despised his vocal cords for not working.

Flare had taken on the role of leading. He guided their little misfit squad and tried to protect them all from the Kaminoans's wrath.

Adult never smiled anymore. His name was now more of a curse. He acted like an adult instead of a child he was.

And Sunshine was still a happy little ball of, well, sunshine. He was bright and cheery and his brothers loved him for it.

"I don't understand why we're still here," Venom angrily muttered as they all marched down the hallways to where the Kaminoans waited. "We should escape."

"How?" Flare tiredly asked. "The only ship on this city is theirs. Only they know the code for it."

Crease clapped his hands to draw their attention. "We get the code."

"Easier said than done." Adult patted Crease's shoulder. "How do we get them to tell us it?"

"Slice past the code," Friendly suggested. "Remember Commander Wolffe mentioned something about that?"

"I watched someone slice once," Wiggle said. He pursed his lips momentarily. "Maybe I could recreate it?"

"We might as well try something," Flare reluctantly agreed. He nudged Venom. "Go with him and make sure he doesn't get up to anything, okay?"

"Let's go!" Wiggle exclaimed, jogging away.

"We're getting out of here," Flare determinedly declared. "We're doing it tonight."

They all grinned, save for Adult, until they reached the lab. They were each strapped down to a table to have samples taken.

Sunshine was the first to scream and the first to pass out. The others quickly followed.

Crease was the last to pass out, faintly registering a datapad off to the side with Commander Wolffe's scowling face on it.

"Sunshine, are you awake?" Adult whispered, shaking the boy.

Sunshine groaned, mouth heavy with the metallic taste of blood. "Yeah."

"They're gone," Flare announced, peeking his head out the door. "Let's do this."

Sunshine rubbed at his head and stretched out his legs. "I'm so excited! Yay!"

Flare motioned for them to run, leading the charge. They reached the hanger to see Wiggle proudly pointing at the ship.

"I did it!" Wiggle exclaimed. "I actually did it!"

"Moon, you pilot!" Flare ordered. "You're the only one who passed the flight simulations."

Moon nodded and sat in the pilot's seat, setting their jaw.

"The datapad." Crease was panicked. "It's important."

"I'll get it," Sunshine said and sprinted away.

Moon flicked a switch and tapped their finger against the dashboard. "I think it's ready. We might as well give it a shot."

"Wait! Wait!" Crease's eyes widened. "We can't leave without Sunshine!"

And miraculously, they waited.

"Trying to escape?" Nolo Sa's cold voice met their ears as he menacingly entered the hanger. "Shameful. We created you. You belong to us."

Friendly burst out crying, burying his face into Wiggle's chest.

"Return right now, and your punishments will be minimal." Nolo Sa blinked, slowly turning his head to face Sunshine, who had just wandered into the hanger. "Ah, there you are."

"Run!" Crease desperately pleaded.

Sunshine froze, gazing up at the Kaminoan in terror.

"Run!" Flare screamed. He tapped Moon repeated on the arm. "Go!"

Sunshine was running. Running as fast as he possibly could. Run, run, run.

He was almost there.

So close.

So very close.

"Pity you didn't take the easy way out," Nolo Sa said, voice tinged with mild interest.

The floor electrified, and Sunshine collapsed. He curled inwards, a blood-chilling cry being torn from his throat at the pain.

"Sunshine!" Tricks yelled.

Crease attempted to throw himself out; to try and save his brother, but Flare held him back.

"You can't save him," Flare whispered with tears stinging at his eyes.

Sunshine, with the last of his consciousness, tossed the datapad at the ship. He smiled weakly as another round of electricity shot through him.

Crease caught it. He stared at Sunshine as the ramp closed. He ran to the window and pressed his hands to it as they were piloted away.

"Sunshine," a tear fell down Crease's face, "I'll miss you."

Venom scowled, rounding on Flare. "We could have gotten him! What the kriff was that?"

"I didn't want to leave him either! But I couldn't put the rest of us at risk!" Flare shouted. "We needed to escape!"

"Sunshine isn't gonna last without us!" Venom thrust a finger against Flare's chest. "He needs us to protect him!"

Crease stared numbly at the datapad in his hands. Did he really sacrifice his brother for this piece of technology? Just because he saw a picture of Commander Wolffe he sacrificed everything for it?

The Kaminoans were right.

He was a failure.

Crease sank to the ground and curled into a ball, tucking his knees to his chest. He started sobbing, hiccuping as snot dripped down his face.

Friendly settled next to him. He didn't say anything, he just sat there.

Crease flung his arms around Friendly, sobbing desperately. Even though Friendly couldn't, and would never again, see his hands, he said, "I'm sorry. It's my fault."

And Friendly couldn't comfort him, because he didn't know Crease had even moved his hands. There would always be an invisible barrier between them now.

Crease felt like he had lost everything in the galaxy. Kamino, Sunshine, his childhood, and the one that somehow hurt the most: Friendly.

"Why did you even send him back?" Venom hissed, snatching the datapad up. He sneered at the screen before his harsh expression melted away. "I can't believe it..."

Flare peered over his shoulder, brow pinching. "That's Commander Wolffe!"

"What is it?" Friendly asked, stroking Crease's hair.

"He's registered as a deserter." Flare looked hopeful. "Maybe... Maybe we can find him and he'll know what to do with us."

"He was my favourite big friend," Wiggle commented.

"So it's decided?" Venom handed the datapad back to Crease. "We'll find Commander Wolffe and see if we can live with him until everything settles down?"

Moon grinned and nodded. "I'm in."

And so the little group of misfits, failures, and rebellious clone children set out to find Wolffe, a man who most definitely would care for them.

Right?

Nolo Sa was upset.

The young clones had escaped with his datapad. They would spread the word of some of the only surviving Kaminoans.

So, Nolo Sa reflected, he needed to take his anger out on something to be level headed as usual. Which was why he was... punishing the only one not to have had made it out.

"It's truly disappointing that you would runaway from the ones that have cared for you your entire life," he said, slowly turning the dial.

The clone screamed and spasmed against the table he was restrained to.

"I hate to do this," Nolo Sa lied, "but it's for your own good. If you're to be loyal to your creators, you need to show it."

Sunshine desperately nodded, blinking past the tears pooling at the corners of his eyes. "Y- Yes, sir! I pr-promise!"

"I don't believe you." Nolo Sa adjusted the dial again, pumping up the electricity. "Prove it."

"I- I'll do anything!" Sunshine squeezed his eyes shut. "P-Please!"

"I told you to prove it."

"Y- you're all I have to be loyal to!" Sunshine's lip trembled. "The o-others abandoned me! They left me here to die!"

Nolo Sa paused. "You're right..."

"Please!" Sunshine screamed, kicking out as much as he could with the restraints.

Nolo Sa considered it.

The young clone was right. The others had abandoned him. And Nolo Sa wanted them dead. He could use the boy's feelings against him.

"I believe we have a common goal," Nolo Sa smoothly said as the restraints pulled back with a simple push of a button.

Sunshine panted as he crumpled to the ground. He pushed himself up to dizzily stare up at the one who has just been torturing him. "What's... What's our common goal?"

Nolo Sa's eyes narrowed. "Revenge."

Mwahahaha?
