I attended my mother's funeral, my brother left earlier than I did, but I stood at mother's grave, and I couldn't help but feel guilty,
I wish I could've done something, but I was too weak.
"Well, you have my condolences after what happened, but unfortunately, now you'll have to die"
"H-Huh, who are you?"
The person who was talking to me stepped out of the shadows.
"P-Please, d-don't kill me, w-wait, are you guys the same people my mother worked with?"
"The Vatican, indeed we are, now then, about your death"
"I-I want to join you guys, I-I wanna a-avenge my mom"
"H-Hm, a demon that wants to become an exorcist, strange, I don't see why, but, I guess, I'll entertain your idea, but I can't promise you something bad might happen to you"
I let out a sigh of relief, it feels nice to be able to join, hopefully, they can help me become strong enough.
The next day, I officially start my new life at the new school and the cram school.
At the cram school, we learn about exorcism and at the normal school, well, it's pretty much self-explanatory.
The students of the cram school are me, Neptune, Yamana, Damien, Kris, and Zane.
My brother and I attended school normally we even lived in the same dorm, but one day, he had to go somewhere, I begged and pleaded to go with him, which was going nowhere, but he eventually caved in.
It turned out we were going to someone's house.
I was excited about my very first exorcism, but Rein seemed rather worried.
"Wait, how are we gonna get there?"
As he pulled out a key, a door opened in front of us.
I was shocked at first but when Rein opened the door and went in, I went in after him.
"We're here, now stay here please, this will only take a bit"
Once he walked in, it seemed to feel like minutes, if not hours.
I can't take it anymore, I gotta walk in.
I decided to stop waiting and walked in before I was soon stopped by a fence.
I could feel myself being electrocuted, it was like I was struck by lightning.
When it seems to finally stop, I see a male in the garden gathering plants.
"That gate, it w-was made to keep demons out, which means you're a demon, please, don't hurt me!"
With the gate down I quickly ran in but I seemed to scare the male more and more.
I kept running until I could grab him.
"P-Please don't run away from me, I'm not trying to hurt you, here, let me introduce myself, my name is Luna"
"Luna, you mean your Rein's sister?"
"Y-Yeah, I-I'm Rein's sister, what's your name?"
"My name is Léo"
He looks away blushing heavily which confuses me at first, but as I look down at myself, I noticed my sweater is slipping off of myself slowly.
I blushed heavily and panic, quickly trying to fix my clothing.
As Rein walks out, he seems a bit infuriated but soon sighs.
"You couldn't be bothered to wait, could you?"
"I-I'm sorry R-Rein, I-I couldn't wait any longer"
"God, anyways, I suppose you got a good look him, right, a demon resides in this garden, it's been slowly draining Léo's energy, I was sent to find it, but, since your here, Luna, you can stake out the place with me"
"As for you Léo, can you think of what you might have talked to, anything is helpful, what have you talked to in this garden that might have seemed suspicious?"
"Sorry, I don't remember, I wish I did though"
Both Rein and I let out a sigh as we stake out the garden.
Nothing happened during the time we were waiting.
As nighttime approached, I managed to convince Rein to let me sleep with Léo for the night, however, it seemed all we needed to do was to wait for night.
I was starting to doze off, but I was soon awakened as I saw Léo walking out to the garden.
I quickly ran out after him, calling his name, but there was no response, until, the demon decided to show itself.
"Hm, is this male that I'm using close to you, well, I hope you don't mind if I borrow his body until I sucked him dry of his life energy!"
As the demon sent out vines and grabbed at me, I had no way to protect myself, the only thing I could do was scream for help.
"God, your such an annoying brat, shut up!"
Before the demon was unable to muffle my screams, my blue flames came out as the vines restraining me we're burned.
I just have to hold out until Rein gets here.
"Well now, since you want to be such a nuisance, I'll just have to snuff that flame of yours out!"
The demon grabs me with its tentacles before soon after throwing me at a nearby wall.
It was at that time Rein was finally outside to come and help.
As he reached out to grab me, the demon raised up multiple vines to keep me close and refused to let me go.
It was also at that point that I couldn't last any longer, I gave in to the pain as I lost consciousness.
I couldn't even help out at all.
While I may not be used to my powers, it still bothers me that I couldn't fight back, I could hardly put up a fight.
I'm still just as weak as I've always been before.
I wanted to be strong, to be powerful, but all I am and all I ever can be is a failure.
Even as I try to regain consciousness, I can't, I'm basically stuck in limbo for who knows long.
I wish I could've done something.
