Pawan and Sulekha Gujral were happy that Natasha was visiting some friends in Ooty. Pawan said, "lagta hai....Dev aur uska rishta ab normal husband-wife wala ho gaya hai....dekho ab wo baahar jaana bhi pasand karti hai.....Dev khud usse apne friends ke yahan chhod kar aaya hai...."

Just then they received a call from Natasha. She sounded really happy and was excited to speak to both Sulekha and Pawan. She did not ask for Dev. When Pawan was hanging up, he glanced at the caller ID window of the phone- he was shocked to read "SAROVAR REHABILITATION INSTITUTE." Pawan stood frozen for a while and turned red in anger. He could not believe that his beloved daughter was at a psych rehab center! Dev had played such a game with him!

He tried to call Dev on his cell, but Dev was in surgery. He waited for him to come back but when he was still not home by midnight, he decided to go out to look for him.

Dev had just arrived at Sonakshi's house after a grueling day at the hospital and she was just fixing dinner for him when they heard the doorbell.

"Main dekhta hoon..." Dev got up. It was unusual for Sonakshi to have any visitors this late.

Dev was shocked to see the visitor.

"Aap kya kar rahe hai yahan?" Dev asked angrily

Pawan was fuming with rage, "pehley tum bataao, tum kya kar rahe ho yahan?....Apni wife ko door ek mental hospital mein bhej kar khud rang ralliyan mana rahe ho?"

"Dr Gujral, aapko meri personal life mein dakhal andaazi deni ki koyi zaroorat nahin hai.....Natasha jahan bhi hai....khush hai.....aur wahin hai jahaan usse bahut pehle hona chahiye tha.....ab aap chale jaaiye...." Dev said firmly

"Kaun hai Dev.....? Sonakshi came out and was shocked to see the visitor.

Pawan Gujral gave a stern look at Sonakshi and then at Dev, "ab dekhna...Pawan Gujral tumhara kya haal karta hai......you both disgust me!" Pawan turned around as Sonakshi tried to hide behind Dev's back.

Dev came back inside and put his arm around Sonakshi, "don't worry Sonakshi....wo hamara kuch nahin bigaad sakte.....jo unhone hamare saath kiya hai....main unki asliyat....duniya ke saamne le aaoonga!" Sonakshi could sense the anger in Dev's voice.

Sonakshi could not control her tears, "Dev...mujhe darr lag raha hai....Dr Gujral kuch bhi karr sakte hain....wo mujhe pehle bhi warning dekar gaye the..."

"Pehle?" Dev was surprised. "Mujhe kyon nahin bataaya?" he asked

"Wo...Dev....jab tum Ooty mein the...tab.....aur tum itne khush aaye the wahan se.....I did not want to upset you...." She hesitatingly told him.

Dev was worried about Sonakshi; he knew Pawan was capable of doing anything and would not think twice before hurting her again. "Sonakshi....main sab sambhaal loonga....tum sirf apna aur Ansh ka dhyaan rakho.." he kissed her eyes and wiped her tears, "don't worry .....main hoon na" he consoled her like she was a little girl in his strong arms.

AT GUJRAL's RESIDENCE:

Pawan Gujral tried to contact Natasha and the doctors at the rehab center. He wanted her to be discharged immediately.

"Yes....Dr Gujral...main Dr Mittal bol raha hoon......sorry sir, I understand but Natasha can only be discharged back to her husband.....unhone hi papers par sign kiya hai....main jaanta hoon aap Natasha ke father hain par trust me sir....she is doing very well....and is very safe here....Goodnight Sir!" Akash Mittal hung up the phone on his nightstand.

Pawan Gujral was very humiliated, "how dare Dev go behind my back......I take decisions for my daughter....wo kaun hota hai!"

Sulekha, who was in bed, woke up, "Pawan....aaj tak Dev ne Natasha ki health ko kabhi neglect nahin kiya....may be you should trust him....kuch soch samajh kar hi usne Natasha ko wahan bheja hai....."

"Natasha ko bhej kar.....wahan wo Sonakshi ke saath aish kar raha hai...." Pawan was still furious.

Sulekha was shocked, as she had not heard anything about Sonakshi being back in Dev's life. Her evil side took over, "Pawan, mere paas ek tareeka hai.....main jaanti hoon Sonakshi ko kis baat se sabse zyaada taqleef hoti hai...."

Next day, Sonakshi received a certified letter addressed to Dev. She was going to open it but then decided against it. She knew Dev would never mind, but somehow there were some rights only a legally wedded wife could have.....

When Dev came to see her that evening, he opened the letter, "Sonakshi...tum bhi khol sakthi thi letter....tumhe poora haq hai...." He said putting an arm around her and sat down. Sonakshi saw his expression change; he took his arm from around her and got up. He had a serious look, picked his bag and walked to the door, "I am glad tumne nahin khola letter...." He left quickly without giving any explanation. Sonakshi tried to follow him but he was gone before she knew it. She tried calling him on his cell but he was unavailable. "Aisa kya hai uss letter mein..?" she got worried but was soon distracted by Ansh, "Mamma....mujhe yeh homework samajh nahin aa raha..."

After putting Ansh to bed, she tried to call Dev several times, but was unsuccessful. She finally re assured herself, "kuch important hoga toh khud bataa dega" and dozed off.....

Next day, as she was getting Ansh ready for school, she received a call from Riya.

"Sonakshi....tumhe pataa hai...Dr Pawan Gujral ney Dev par kya charge lagaa diya hai...?"

"Nahin...kya hua....Dev ne toh kuch nahin bataaya..."

"Well...Sonakshi this is bad news....Dr Gujral has complained to the Indian Medical Board that Dev is having an illegitimate and unethical relationship with a patient. Tum toh jaanti ho Sonakshi.....that can cost him his license if Dr Gujral is able to prove that.....Dev kahan hai..?"

Sonakshi was not listening anymore; the phone handset slipped out of her hands as she stood there in shock.

"Mamma...chalo...school bus kaa time ho gaya......" Ansh shook her hand.

"Haan...haan...Ansh...chalo" she wiped a tear from her eyes and left with Ansh. She cancelled all her patient appointments at her clinic and left for the hospital. She went to Dev's office but there was a lock at the door. She asked Dev's assistant, 'Dr Dev Dixit...kahaan hai?"

"Madam....wo indefinite vacation par gaye hain...unka morning mein phone aaya tha....humein bahut problem ho gayi hai....itni saari surgeries cancel karni padh rahi hain..." she seemed in a hurry and in no mood to talk anymore.

Sonakshi had no choice but to go to the Gujral's house. She was greeted by a servant at the door, "Please aaiye madam....main dekhta hoon ki Dr Dixit hain ya nahin..."

Sonakshi was hesitant to come in but decided to wait inside.

"OH!...tum yahan tak aa gayi...?" Sonakshi turned around to see Pawan Gujral.

"Main....Dev se milne..." she said softly with her eyes buried in the ground.

"Hmm...raat toh wo tumhare saath hi bitata hai....hum se zyaada toh tumhe uski khabar honi chahiye..." he said sarcastically.

Sonakshi looked up and was about to say something when she heard Dev's voice from upstairs, "Sonakshi....I am coming down in a few minutes...you don't have to answer his questions.."

"Kya yaarana hai dono mein....?" Pawan Gujral again taunted. "Ab toh Indian Medical Board ko hi jawaab dena tum dono...." He walked away leaving Sonakshi tearful.

Dev came down and put his arm around Sonakshi, "chalo, let's go..."

They arrived at Sonakshi's place.

"Dev...ab kya karenge? Tumhara poora career khatam ho sakta hai....you know how strict they are about this kind of stuff.."

Dev looked worried but stayed quiet. He stayed back with Sonakshi all day as they thought of various solutions to this problem.

They were shocked to read the headlines in the local evening newspaper- REPUTED NEUROSURGEON, DR DEV DIXIT CHARGED WITH ABUSING PATIENT-DOCTOR RELATIONSHIP BY HAVING SEXUAL RELATIONS WITH PATIENT! All the major TV channels also carried the same sensational news that night. The articles and news stories showed pictures of Dev and Sonakshi together....they also had pictures from their honeymoon in Ooty.....Pawan Gujral had spies everywhere!!!

Sonakshi started sobbing as she read the article. Pawan Gujral could do anything....he knew he was not only ruining Dev's career but also his daughter's life....how did he expect that Dev would do anything for Natasha after this charge....if Pawan Gujral thought this accusation would separate Sonakshi from Dev....HE WAS WRONG! Sonakshi wiped her tears and she knew she would have to act fast and once again save Dev's future......

The next day, Dev had set up some meetings with lawyers and was out all day. When he came back, he saw that Sonakshi and Ansh were not there. Most of her clothes and Anshs's belongings were not there either. He got worried. He called Riya, "Riya....Sonakshi aur Ansh kahan gaye hain?"

"Dev...kya hua? Mujhe nahin pata.....she did not say anything...except aaj morning mein keh rahi thi ki she will have to do something drastic to get you out of this mess.....don't worry wo aa jaye gi..." Riya reassured him.

Dev waited all night and next day but there was no news from Sonakshi. Her mobile was also switched off!

Riya came over, "Dev....tumne kya haalat bana rakhi hai.....lagta hai na soye ho, na khana khaya hai......Sonakshi tumhe chhod karr kahin nahin jaayegi....I trust her....just give her sometime...chalo mere ghar chalo.....I will fix something for you...."

Dev's eyes were red and swollen but Riya got scared when she saw the rage in his eyes, "Riya....yeh kaisa pyaar hai....jab bhi mujhe Sonakshi ki sabse zyaada zaroorat hoti hai.....wo meri zindagi se kyon chali jaati hai....uske jaane se kya mujhey apna license waapas mil jaayega? Kam se kam wo saath hothi toh mujhe kuch sahara rehtaa...parr tumhari friend mujhe kabhi samajh nahin paayi.......saath dene ki jagah usne hamesha mera saath chhod diya hai..." he started sobbing as Riya tried to console him.

"Dev...please...dekho agar wo hamesha ke liye gayi hoti...to muhje zaroor bata ke jaati.....just have patience....may be she does not want the press and news to find her here at your residence? Have faith in her...."

The sleepless nights and the recent stress had blurred Dev's thinking. He got up and started throwing things around...he broke several flower vases and destroyed pictures hanging on the wall despite Riya's protests and efforts to restrain him.

"Riya...please go away....let me be alone....I don't need you and your sympathies.....GET OUT!!!" Riya was shocked and left to get Jatin.

Dev drowned himself in alcohol, something he seldom consumed, but his pain was unbearable at this point.
