Dev went to Natasha's house next morning. "Hello aunty, how was your trip?"

"Very nice....I think we all needed that change....Jao Natasha tumhara wait kar rahi hai....." Sulekha replied

Dev went upstairs to find Natasha surrounded by a lot of photographs. When she saw him coming, she got up and hugged him, "Oh! I missed you so much....pata hai US main mujhe kitney log miley? Sab tumhein bhi jaante hain wahan...they were so friendly....hamaari shaadi mein bhi aayenge sab....I can't wait...." (these are all signs of Natasha's illness-she was having visual and auditory hallucinations which means she was seeing and hearing things which were not real).

Dev was bewildered at her chain of thoughts, "Natasha yeh kya keh rahi ho? Main toh aaj tak US bhi nahin gaya....aur naa hi mere koyi friends ya relatives hai wahan.....tumhein koyi misunderstanding huyi hai" he untangled her arms from his neck.

"Natasha.....I need to say something....main ...."

"Arre Dev....dekho....yeh hai Disney ki photos.....this was my favorite place....hum apne bachchon ko bhi le jaayenge" she was not listening to Dev and continued to talk about the trip.

"Natasha! LISTEN TO ME!" Dev finally shook her, "MERI BAAT SUNO....."

"Dev, I know you are stressed out because of the entrance exam but don't worry...dad will take care of you....yeh dekho....I got some designs for our wedding card......this should relax you......" she said.

Natasha was really testing his patience when he heard Pawan Gujral's voice, "Hello, Dev! How are you beta? Padhai kaisi chal rahi hai....you know it is a tough competition this year....."

"Hello Sir!! Bas theek chal rahi hai...wo main Natasha se baat karne aaya tha...."

"I am sure you missed her....wo bhi US mein sirf tumhari hi baat karthi thi...please carry on....I have an important meeting to go to...." Pawan turned around and left for his office.

Dev sat down on the floor at Natasha's feet and looked her in the eye, and firmly said "Natasha...main tumsey shaadi nahin kar sakta...."

She started laughing, "Dev!....you are so funny.....zaroor Sonakshi ne tumhein instigate kiya hai...wo mujhe roz US bhi phone karti thi aur kehthi thi wo mujhe maar dale gi agar main tumsey shaadi karoongi....don't worry....sab theek ho jaayega...." She got up and went to her closet to get something else. Dev put his head in his hands and thought, "this girl is going crazy!!....." he got up in frustration and thought he would come back later or may be talk to Pawan and Sulekha instead.

"Ek minute ruko, Dev.....yeh dekho....maine US se 2 diamond rings buy kiye hain....do you like them?....humari engagement rings.....lo...and if you wish abhi pahen lo..." Dev gave her a dirty look and left the room in a fury. He did not want to talk to anyone at this point....he was really angry!

Dr Pawan Gujral's Office

Dr Pawan Gujral was anxiously waiting for this meeting, "Ya come in!" he said loudly as he heard a knock.

"Aapney mujhe bulaaya, Sir...." It was Sonakshi

"Yes, Yes Ms Bose....sit down...how are studies going on??"

"Very Good Sir...but what is the matrer?....aapney bulaaya"

"Haan...I need to talk to you about something very important. I have come to know through my resources in the Institute that you and Dev have become very close."

Sonakshi lowered her eyes as she was shy, "Umm...yes sir...we both like each other"

"Well...Sonakshi tum bahut mature aur intelligent ladki ho....you know how ambitious Dev is.....I don't think he needs to be distracted at this stage....he has to face tough competition in the Neurosurgery entrance this year...aur uske baad 5 saal ka program....he has a long road ahead of him...."

"Sir...I understand...but believe me...he is the best candidate for this position....he is very focused in his goal...no one can deter him from that..."

"Sonakshi....Natasha is my only daughter....she is my little princess.....maine aaj tak uski har wish poori ki hai.....she is also in love with Dev...I cannot see her heart break....you understand..."

"Sir...but Dev does not love her....." she said hesitatingly

"Yeh LOVE SHOVE SAB BEKAAR KI BATEIN HAI.....OUT OF SIGHT....OUT OF MIND......Jo saamney hoga, ussi se pyaar ho jaata hai eventually" he raised his voice as Sonakshi shuddered.

"No sir...we really love each other...." She finally had the courage to say those words.

"Sonakshi....Dev's career as a Neurosurgeon is contingent upon one thing.....you will have to forget him or else....I will make sure he is not accepted in any program anywhere in the country.....you are not aware of how far my approach is....my daughter's happiness is most important to me.....UNDERSTAND....you are a good student...I will give you an excellent recommendation and you can transfer to any other college but you have no place at GMI from today......and if you try to contact Dev after today- remember if I can get him accepted, I can also get him rejected from the program....THIS IS THE GUJRAL MEDICAL INSTITUTE AND I AM DR PAWAN GUJRAL!"

He got up and showed the door to Sonakshi. Sonakshi was stunned and was completely numb as she heard his words.....she walked out without thinking about what was happening.......she knew she loved Dev and he loved her.....nothing else mattered....but she also knew how important Dev's goals were for him.....maybe even more important than her.....she could not let him down.....she went to the hostel and packed her bags.......
