Part 59

Khushi stared at Arjun nervously waiting for him to say something about what she had just told him. After her discussion with Rudra and Prem, she waited for Arjun to get home so she could discuss her live-in idea with him, but since she told him, he had been just silent, as if he was trying to process things or so.

He didn't say anything for like five minutes and then suddenly he looked at his phone, dialed someone's number on it and pinned it next to his ear.

"Where are you?" he asked.

"Can you come home for a while? We need to talk?"

"Great, waiting for you."

He disconnected the call and then finally looked at me, I didn't even know who he had called, maybe Krystle? To ask for advice or something. She thought from all her brothers, Arjun was the one that was going to have the least problem but he hadn't said a word to her until now and it was kind of making her worried.

"Will you say something? Your silence is killing me." Khushi pouted.

"I don't know what to say Khushi, this is big..."

"How is it big? Wouldn't you be happy if I came and told you I wanted to get married to Arnav?"

"Getting married to him and living with him are two different things." Arjun looked at her seriously.

"They are different but nothing is wrong with either of them, it depends on people and what they prefer, in our case, Arnav and I prefer living in before we take any bigger step."

"Living together is a bigger step Khushi. Lately you've just been acting so rebellious don't you think?"

"I am just telling you the truth Arjun, why can't you try to understand me?"

"I am trying."

While they were in between the discussion, Arnav walked in and joined them in the hall.

"Arnav, what are you doing here?" Khushi asked as she looked at him in surprise.

"Arjun called me." Arnav said, oh so he called Arnav and not Krystle. She looked at Arnav and then at Arjun in confusion, if he wasn't against the idea of them living together, why had he called Arnav here?

"So... is it both your decision? You two do want to live together?" Arjun asked.

"Yes, we both thought it was going to be good for us."

"What about your family? Your parents? Will they agree?"

"I've already talked to my father, he is okay with whatever decision I take for my life and I also talked to my aunt, she was hesitant at first but she agreed." Arnav said.

"Okay..." Arjun sighed as he went back into his deep thoughts. Arnav hadn't told Khushi that he had already told his family members about it, she always thought maybe he was going to tell them after she told her brothers because clearly they had more issues than anyone in Arnav's family.

That reminded her, she hadn't even met Arnav's dad yet, he was always at work as he worked in the army, he had visited a couple of times but at that time she was in Australia, and since she came back he hadn't visited yet, but Arnav did say he would visit soon and then he will introduce them.

"Okay fine, if that's what you two want, then I am not going to oppose it." Arjun said.

"What? Really?" Khushi looked at him so happily.

"Yeah, I mean I wouldn't want to do that myself but if you two are okay with it and agree upon it, I don't want to oppose it, everyone has different beliefs, you believe you need to see how things work out so that's fine, you can live together and see how it works out.

But that would also mean you both will have to be completely independent, you won't get any financial help from your families, you have to get a house together, live there, and handle all expenses together, that's how you'll get to know each other better." Arjun said.

"I don't mind it, I already have a few job interviews line up." Khushi said excitedly and she looked at Arnav while they both smiled at each other happily.

It wasn't as difficult as it sounded but then they weren't kids anymore, and maybe that's why it was easier for their brothers to agree to this, they knew they were adults now and they could handle things on their own.

"Okay then, you both discuss when and how and let us know." Arjun said.

"We will, thank you for understanding us and agreeing to this, I love you, you're the best." Khushi smiled as she hugged him happily.

"All we want is for you to be happy Khushi, always." Arjun smiled at her as he broke the hug and cupped her face, and then kissed her on the forehead.

"I promise, I won't give you a chance to complain, I'll do my best to always keep her happy and safe." Arnav said to Arjun.

"I know you will." Arjun smiled faintly as he walked away leaving then alone.

Once he was gone, Khushi turned to look at Arnav and then hugged him happily too, it was finally after so long that everything seemed to be falling in place, she was just too excited and happy about living with him, it was going to be great.

"We did it." She smiled.

"I know, it seems unreal, with your brothers I was expecting so much drama, it's surprising that it didn't happen, that's why it feels unreal." Arnav laughed.

"I guess they've just known you for a while now and so they know you're a good guy and we've been together for long enough, they had to agree, everything made sense, I put forward a good case." Khushi smirked proudly.

"You sure did." Arnav said as he grabbed her by the waist and pecked on her cheek quickly before anyone showed up.

"We have a lot of things to discuss, when do we do it? Where do we find a house, and how we'll manage everything? Oh God, it's so scary and exciting at the same time."

"It is, but we'll figure it out, don't worry." Arnav assured her.

"Yeah hopefully. I can't wait to live with you, wake up every morning next to you and just stare at your handsome face, and irritate you when you're busy." She giggled.

"I know, it's going to be great... but it won't all be great, we'll have our usual arguments, someday we might get so mad at each other and not want to talk to each other even."

"I know, but that's what relationships are about right, going through it all and figuring it out and staying together."

"It is." Arnav smiled.

"There will also be a lot of love making." Khushi giggled.

"Oh a lot of it, I'm not going to be able to keep my hands off you, you'll get irritated." Arnav laughed.

"I'd love that." She smiled as she hugged him, it was such a big step in their relationship and everything was falling into place it just made her so happy.

"How about we celebrate this over dinner tomorrow? Just you and me, I'll take you to a nice place, we eat together and discuss how we want to start this?"

"Sure, sounds great. Dinner tomorrow."

"Perfect, I'll get going for now then, see you tomorrow, love you."

"Love you too." She smiled as he walked out of the mansion, she kept on looking at him until he disappeared and then she turned around so she could head to her room when she found Prem standing there.

"So you managed to convince them both huh?"

"I did, I would be happy if you were convinced too Prem, why are you so against Arnav?"

"I don't know, I just have this feeling that he will hurt you and I love you Khushi, whether you believe it or not and I wouldn't want you to get hurt."

"He won't, I know him."

"What if he does?"

"I just don't want to talk about this, I am happy, let me be." Khushi said as she rushed upstairs angrily, why couldn't Prem be happy for her? Just once?
