Part 18
Arnav was seated in his room all alone, lost in thoughts. He couldn't understand what was happening in his life, every time he kept on bumping into Khushi as if that's what destiny had, but if it was destiny, why would she be interested in someone else?
He hadnt even realized how much he had started liking her until today, when she told him about her feelings, and it broke his heart into pieces, but he pretended to be all fine. Only if, he had taken the chance when he had it, he had told her that he would be shifting here when they met in Shimla, then things could have been really different.
Like right now, instead of sitting here in his room thinking about her, he might have actually been out on a date with her.
"Hey, how was your first day at college?" Shaina asked as she walked inside Arnav's room.
"It was okay." Arnav sighed, she jumped on the bed and sat down beside him, stared at his face for a moment like there was something stuck on it.
"Then why do you look like this?" She asked.
"Look like what?"
"Sad? Is it because you were hoping to meet Khushi like it had happened so far but this time destiny dint work?" She giggled.
"I am not sad, I am thinking. And for your kind information, destiny did work, she's in the same college with me." He smiled faintly.
"Well you see that's the news I'd expect you to tell me while you were jumping up and down crazily. If destiny worked, why don't you seem happy?"
"Well because I don't know why destiny is actually working. I mean I met her we talked and I asked her if we could go out, you see I dint want to miss out on a chance given that she so pretty, guys would be running behind her soon, but she said no."
"Why?" Shaina pouted.
"Because she likes someone else, I tried to ask her out as soon as I could but I guess someone was earlier than me." Arnav said.
"Aww, I'm sorry bro. Don't worry, I'm sure you'll find someone else." Shaina said as she moved closer and hugged him trying to make him feel better.
"I don't know... I just hadnt met any girl that I could be interested in like I am interested in Khushi, I don't know if there's anyone out there that can be like her."
"You never know what destiny has for you."
"Yeah, you're right. Anyway let's go out and sit with your mom, she's alone." Arnav said as he stood up and headed outside as Shaina followed him.
Padmini was busy in the kitchen cooking dinner so the both of them started helping her.

Khushi kept on staring at her phone every few minutes, since the last time she texted Mr. Writer, she hadnt heard back from him. She had even texted a couple more times but there was no reply yet.
Was he may be ignoring her? Or was he just busy? But he had never been this busy, he had always replied to her texts almost immediately or after an hour or two, but today it had been way longer than usual and she couldn't keep wondering why it was so.
She heard a knock at the door of her room so she quickly put her phone aside and grabbed a book pretending to read when Prem walked in.
"You okay Khushi?" He asked as he walked towards her and sat down on her bed, she put the book aside and nodded positively.
"And how is Suman?"
"You just saw her in the morning you know." Khushi giggled.
"Yeah, we haven't been on talking terms lately." He shrugged. Khushi sighed as she grabbed his hand and held it into hers, she looked him into the eyes seriously.
"Look bro, it's really okay if you don't want me to date or talk to any guy, but why punish Suman for it? She has nothing to do with this rule you made for me right? She's my best friend, I know what she feels for you and by avoiding these feelings that you have for her, you're just hurting her and yourself and I don't want that, not for you and not for her.
So you have all my permission, if you want to be with her then be with her, I promise I won't complain or anything." Khushi said.
"It won't be the right thing to do Khushi."
"So staying away from her would be right? I don't get you bro, this is the one chance that you might have with her, don't screw it up because of me please."
"Rudra and Arjun would never understand."
"They will, I will convince them."
"But it won't be fair to you. I should have just stayed away from her since the beginning, this is getting worse." He stood up and started pacing around the room, it was making Khushi mad, they had this rule for her, it was okay but why were they punishing themselves for it?
"But I am not complaining Prem." Khushi said angrily.
"It doesn't matter, I am not doing anything about it, I am sorry I just... became weak for a moment. I need to go." He said as he rushed out of her room quickly leaving Khushi all confused. Were things ever going to be normal in their life? None of her brothers had ever dated even a girl just because they dint want her to date someone, and she wondered if things were ever going to change.
Her phone beeped and she jumped on the bed immediately hoping it was a reply from Mr. Writer and a huge smile curved up on her face when she opened the notification and found a message from him.
"Sorry for the late reply, I've had a busy day."
"It's okay, I was just worried if you were okay."
"Yeah I am okay, good to know someone is worried."
"Shut up. So... did you think about us meeting? I mean I know you said we should take things slow but I am just kind of excited." Khushi typed nervously, she really wanted to meet him, talk to him face to face and if she'd get the chance, even tell him how she felt for him.
"Yeah I did, I will let you know how and when to meet as soon as I'm ready to meet, is that okay for you?"
"Of course." Khushi typed happily as she started dancing around the room, he had finally agreed to meet her, even though the last time she talked about it, he had been a bit skeptical but it looked like he changed his mind and she couldn't be happier.
But she had to be very careful with this, if her brothers found out, her Mr. Writer would get beaten up badly.

"So... did you reply?" Shaina looked at him seriously.
"Yeah I did." Arnav rolled his eyes at her. After they went to help Padmini in the kitchen, she realized she dint have some ingredients so she rushed out to buy them as Arnav and Shaina handled everything.
So they talked about stuff and Shaina asked him if he was talking to any other girl or if he knew someone else then he told her about this girl he had met online and so she managed to convince him, that the only way not to feel hurt about Khushi not liking him was to have his mind distracted.
She convinced him to text her back given that he hadnt texted her today, and she even told him to agree for the meeting, but Arnav wasn't really sure yet if he wanted to meet her so he told her he would let her know when he was ready.
"I don't think it's going to help though."
"It is, I mean according to what you told me, this girl sound great and if she asked to meet you instead of you asking, she definitely likes you, girls don't do things like that."
"Then it wont be the right thing, I cant give her hopes when I like Khushi."
"Oh God Arnav, I am younger than you yet so much mature than you. Who knows if you meet her and you guys talk and stuff you might start liking her and forget about Khushi, and then you wouldn't feel hurt because she doesn't like you."
"I hate to admit it, but you might be right. Fine I'll meet her after a week or two when I feel like I'm ready."
"That's like my brother." Shaina hugged him happily.
