Part 14
Three months later.
Khushi woke up to the sound of her phone beeping, she lazily picked up her phone and unlocked it to check at the message she had received.
"Good morning." She smiled as she read the text, it was obviously from Mr. Writer. In the past three months, they talked almost every day for hours, it was like they had become so close despite not knowing each other's names.
"Good morning." Khushi typed a reply back as she sat up yawning and with a stupid smile on her face, she loved receiving good morning texts from him, it made her feel special, like someone thought of her the first thing in the morning.
In the past three months, they talked a lot, told each other a lot of things and he was always just flirting to cracking jokes making her laugh, and she liked it, she liked him.
He just made her so happy and every time her phone would beep, she would get excited and get goosebumps when she saw his ID on her screen, she just wanted to keep talking to him and to get to know him better.
"So what's up?"
"Nothing, just woke up, I've got some shopping to do, college starts tomorrow so..."
"Wow, mine too. Imagine maybe we're going to be in the same college."
"Yeah right, you don't know where I live neither do I know where you live, the chances are one in a million."
"You never know, destiny plays its game."
"That's true. So... I was wondering, we've been talking for so long, don't you think maybe we should tell each other things now, maybe our names, or where we live and if by chance we live in the same place, we can meet up." She typed and pressed the send button nervously.
She kept waiting for a reply which dint come as soon as the other replies and that just made her more nervous.
She had just started liking this guy so much and she really did want to meet him, but what if he dint want to meet her? What if he didn't like her that way? What if he liked someone else?
But if he liked someone else he wouldn't be flirting with her right?
Every few seconds, she would pick up her phone and look at the screen hoping to see a reply but it wasn't there, so she decided to take a shower hoping that when she would be done with it, she would finally get a reply.

Arnav stared at the text he had just received blankly, he dint know what to say or what to reply. Was he really ready to know more about this girl? Was he ready to meet her or something?
Things were great this way, it was just good to talk to someone without knowing a thing about them yet knowing so much, it was a kind of friendship you wouldn't want to lose, like you could talk to them about anything, tell them stuff without the fear of being judged because they dint know you in the actual sense.
If he agreed to meet her, that would change, and he wasn't sure if he wanted this change. He did like talking to her and all, but was he really ready to meet her and change this whole situation?
He kept typing things and he would erase it, type again and erase again... it went for a while until he got frustrated and just decided to think for a moment about what he really wanted and then reply.
Maybe if she had asked him to meet or exchange actual details about each other a few months ago before he met Khushi, he would have agreed, but after he met Khushi and took her on that date, he hadn't been able to forget about it since that day, and now that he was finally here in Mumbai, he did hope to cross paths with her someday.
"Before I answer that, can I ask a question?" he typed the text and pressed the send button.
"Sure." A reply popped up immediately.
"Why do you want to change things from what they are? Any special reason?"
"I... I just thought we've become good friends and I would just want to know more about this, I mean don't you think it would be great to have a face flash in your mind when you talk to me? Like know me actually?"
"I guess it could be good, I'm just scared things would change if we meet or anything."
"I promise they won't, our friendship would remain the same, but if you aren't ready, I would respect that."
"Okay... I think we can do this, but slowly. How about we start like one thing a week? Today I tell you one thing about myself and you do the same, and then next week we tell each other one more thing. We would leave telling each other our names for the last." He suggested.
"Sounds good to me."
"Okay, so here comes my first detail. I am from Mumbai, what about you? Let's see if we are in the same city."
"Oh My God! This is the one in a million thing we just talked about. I am from Mumbai too!"
Arnav was quite surprised when he read the text, like there were so many towns and cities in India and she turned out to be from the same city he was from, was that just a coincidence? Who was this girl, had he ever met her? or crossed paths with her by chance?
"Arnav, mom's calling you for breakfast." Shaina walked into his room and found him busy staring at his phone.
"Are you talking to your girlfriend?" She smirked as she walked towards him and sat down beside him trying to look at his phone.
"No silly, just a friend." He shrugged.
"Sorry, got to go have breakfast then go for a bit of shopping too, I'll talk to you later?" he typed a quick message and then looked at Shaina who was still staring at him like he was hiding a secret.
"What?" Arnav rolled his eyes at her, and just then his phone beeped again.
"Sure, see you."
"Do you have a girlfriend?" Shaina asked.
"No."
"Okay, do you like any girl?" She smirked.
"Maybe I do." Arnav smirked as he put his phone in the pocket and stepped out of bed.
"Holy Shit! Who is it? Do I know her? What's her name? How did you meet? I want to know." She jumped up and down excitedly.
"Nice try, I'm not telling you a thing."
"Oh come on Arnav, please. Look I'm your cute little sister, you have to tell me." She pouted.
"Fine, on one condition. You won't tell anyone, and you won't tease me about it."
"Deal." She looked at him excitedly.
"Remember that time I came to your school? I bumped into Khushi?"
"Yeah and you said she was childish."
"Yeah so some months back, she came to Shimla for a trip and I bumped into her again, imagine that. Somehow my friends Ronit and Krrish convinced me to ask her for a date so long story short, we went on a date and it was great, I really liked her, but well I wasn't sure if I'd meet her again.
Now that I am here in Mumbai, I'm hoping I would meet her but I don't even know if she's here anymore, you told me she was in her final year so maybe she went out country for further studies or so. Do you know anything?" he bit his lips nervously.
"Oh My God! This is scandalous. You and Khushi, wow! Like I thought you dint like her at all and now you like her a lot." Shaina giggled.
"Kill the suspense already, do you think she's around?"
"I don't know bro, like I know she finished school but I have no idea if she's still here or she decided to go out country to study or anything. Besides if she's here I'm sure you will cross paths with her soon, so just chill and hope she's around."
"Well I really hope she's around. Since that date, I just can't stop thinking about her, its crazy. I mean I was even literally flirting with this other girl online hoping that would help me but it dint."
"Such a player, which other girl?"
"Hey, I'm not a player, she's just some girl that read my stories and loved them, besides it was just flirting, I dint tell her anything like I'm interested in her or not, I'm sure she also isn't. We are just good friends."
"Okay whatever, I really hope Khushi is around though, I mean you two would look so cute together, aww, I already ship you two." Shaina giggled excitedly.
"Okay now shut up, let's go eat then we have to go shopping." Arnav laughed as he put his arm around her shoulders and they both headed out of the room.
*****
After finishing breakfast, Arnav and Shaina headed to the nearby mall for some shopping, he was to join college from tomorrow and he needed some stuff.
They walked around the mall shopping for a lot of things and every few minutes Arnav would look around hoping he was going to bump into Khushi somehow, like all the previous times they met, he just bumped into her out of nowhere, and now we he really wanted to meet her, she was nowhere to be seen.
"Oh come on Arnav, you aren't going to see her at a mall out of nowhere." Shaina giggled.
"I told you no teasing!" Arnav pointed a finger at her pretending to be angry to which Shaina just giggled.
"Oh come on you know you like it." Shaina giggled.
"This is why I never tell you anything." Arnav shrugged as he turned around pretending to be mad and walk away from Shaina when he hit someone almost falling down but he managed to control his fall.
"Jeez, watch where you're going!" Khushi said angrily.
"Khushi!" "Arnav!" They both looked at each other in surprise.
