Falling. Falling. Falling. Talons reached out for her as she fell at an incredible speed, one of her wings burnt and broken. She was bruised and bleeding, tired from running and flying through the rainforest. She had been trying to escape them. She shuddered. Three moons, they scared her. Every time she looked in the mirror, there they were, reaching out. Grabbing her. Tearing her apart. 'Don't be scared!' They shrieked. 'We won't harm you!!' She felt a tug on her wing.

"CORNFLOWER!!" Her mother yelled. "Are you alright?!" She rubbed her head. Looking down at her talons, she saw that there was blood on them.

"It happened again, didn't it?" Cornflower asked. Her mother nodded. Cornflower muttered some curses and walked out of the room. She looked up, level with her fear. There it was, as if waiting for her.

'Hellooooo, Cornflowerrrrr!! I've been expecting youuuu!' It hissed. Cornflower looked at its pure red eyes, a growing fear building up in her stomach. It reached its talons out towards her, a black tarrish substance dripping off of them. Her scales turned pale green with fear as she stumbled back. It lunged out at her, making a horrifying shrieking sound. She yelped with pain and fear as it tackled her, its wide, empty black smile splitting wider. Its white tongue flicked out, more of the black, sticky stuff dripping onto Cornflower's swirling scales. It sizzled and burned her, leaving marks spread across her wings and neck. Its smile spread wider, wider still until it all went black.
