2.0 Completely Consensual

Stella let out a sigh as she opened the doors to her suite and looked down at her best friend. She helped Lily Owens into their shared bedroom. Lily collapsed on the bed face down and let out a loud groan. Stella sat down directly next to her, rubbing her back. "You said that you wanted to stay away from Riven tonight."

"I'm sorry."

"Why are you apologizing to me?" The blonde laughed, Lily's words having been muffled by the bed.  "I just don't want you to do anything that you're going to regret, Lil." Lily finally sat up.

The girl's locked eyes and Lily smiled. "Thank you, Stell. I don't know what I would do without you." She quickly wrapped her arms around her best friend, squeezing Stella tightly.

This caused Stella to smile. She had never really liked people touching her, but with Lily it was different. Stella had more love for Lily than anyone in the world. It was because she saw her as a younger version of herself, a happier version of herself. She wanted to do everything in her power to keep the girl from getting hurt. Sometimes Stella's views of what would hurt Lily were warped. Maybe that was why she sabotaged Lily and Riven's relationship.

"I'm going to rest my eyes for a bit." Lily spoke softly, pulling away from the hug. The moment Lily's head reached the pillow, she was asleep.

Stella stood up from the bed and exited their shared bedroom. As she made her way to the bathroom, she glanced into Bloom and Aisha's bedroom and noticed the redhead looking at a photo of her parents. "Is that your family?" Stella asked as she entered the room, causing Bloom to look up from the picture.

Bloom nodded. "I- uh- saw you come in with Lily." Bloom stated, the picture continuing to stay in her hands. "She looked kind of rough. Is she alright?"

The redhead's question struck a nerve inside Stella for some reason. Lily was her person, and Bloom was not going to take that from her. "She's going to be fine in the morning." Stella sent Bloom a comforting smile. Bloom sighed before her gaze returned to the picture of her family. "I get homesick, too, sometimes." Stella continued. "And my mum... Honestly if she didn't force me to go here, I wouldn't." She took the picture out of Bloom's hands. "I'd live at home. Go to school, just have a normal life." She let out a soft chuckle as she finished. "You know there's no shame in that? No shame in wanting to be home?"

After a twenty minute nap, Lily had risen from her bed and moved to the community room where Stella had a cup of coffee waiting for her. She was beginning to feel much better, but she was now beginning to realize why making out with Riven had been a bad idea. The two girls sat on the couch, scrolling through their tiktok feeds as Musa and Aisha walked into the suite. "She's blanking my texts." Aisha frowned, staring down at her phone.

Musa rolled her eyes. "Strange. I wonder if it's because she poured her heart out to you and you called her a freak?"

This perked Lily's interest. "What?" She questioned, looking up at the two girls.

"Have you seen Bloom?" Aisha asked Stella and Lily, completely ignoring Lily's previous question.

Lily simply shook her head, sinking back into the couch. "Not recently." Stella answered, not looking up from her phone. Musa's eyes turned purple as she narrowed her eyes at Stella. The blonde noticed and finally looked up from her phone. "Yes?" She snapped.

"Your face looks so calm, yet you're racked with guilt." Musa answered, her eyes turning back to brown.

Aisha raised an eyebrow at the girl beside her. "You're a mind fairy." She smiled.

Terra entered the community room from her bedroom. "A mind fairy?" She sauntered towards Musa. "What's your connection? Memory-"

"Not a great time." Musa cut Terra off, shaking her head.

The earth fairy furrowed her eyebrows. "Is everything okay?"

"Not really." Aisha answered before turning her gaze to Stella. "I'm looking for Bloom, and for some reason, Stella's feeling guilty about it."

Stella looked up at the three girls around her and let out a scoff. "Could everyone save the drama for drama club?" Lily looked up at Stella and frowned, confused as to why the girl kept avoiding the question. She knew Stella didn't like Bloom, but if the girl was missing, this was serious.

Terra's eyes widened as realization hit her. "Wasn't she talking to Sky?" Sky had been Stella's boyfriend for a few years, and they broke up right before the summer, directly before Stella convinced Lily to break things off with Riven.

The blonde raised an eyebrow. "And?"

"And... I know what happened to the last person who was talking to Sky. I was here last year, remember?" As Terra spoke, Lily remembered to the year before when Stella blinded her old room-mate because she talked to Sky.

Stella scoffed, shaking her head. Lily looked up at her. "Stella, where's bloom?" She questioned her best friend.

As Stella looked down towards Lily, she knew she couldn't lie to her. "She was feeling homesick, so I did a nice thing, and I lent her my ring so that she could go back to the First World." She answered the girl.

Lily tilted her head to the side. "Stell, doesn't your ring only work outside the barrier?"

"Yes." Stella nodded her head slowly. "And there's a gateway in the old cemetery."

Terra crossed her arms over her chest. "That's deep in the forest, Stella."

As Terra, Musa, Aisha, and Lily rushed towards the gateway, Bloom ran out of the old crypt. Inside was Miss Dowling and a large figure. The door closed behind Bloom. "Bloom!" Lily exclaimed, wrapping her arms around the redhead. "Are you okay?" Terra rushed to Bloom's side, patting her back.

Bloom nodded her head, panting. "Yeah. Yeah... Yeah, I think so. What the hell was that thing?"

"I'm pretty sure it's called a Burned One." Terra answered her friend.

The earthling shook her head, staring at the four in awe. "Huh?" She continued to pant as she looked between the fairies. "Wait. Where... Where's Stella?" She questioned them.

Aisha frowned, wondering why Bloom was worried about her. "She's at the school. Why?"

"That thing just took her ring."

Lily let out a groan, her head leaning back. "Fuck, she's not going to like that."

The five fairies made their way back to their suite, silently. Once the door was closed behind them, Aisha turned to Bloom. "The headmistress will take care of the Burned One, Bloom." She didn't answer, just walking past her to their shared bedroom. "She won't leave it in the First World." Aisha yelled after her, causing Bloom to stop and turn around. "Don't worry. Your parents are safe."

Bloom forced a smile and nodded. "Thanks." She turned, exiting the room.

The girls had all resigned to their rooms. Lily sat, staring at Stella's empty bed. She had not been there when the girls returned, which scared Lily. Where could she have gone?

In the midst of her thoughts, Lily's phone buzzed, and it was a message from Riven.

Hey.

The girl let out a sigh as she laid down, the side of her head hitting the pillow.

Hi.

She tapped on the side of her phone, waiting for him to respond.

You doing alright?

A smile appeared on Lily's face as she softly bit her bottom lip.

Yeah. All better. You?

I'm always fucked up nowadays.

The smile faded as she read his response. She knew that was because of her. She did this to him. She had never wanted to do something like that to him. Another message from Riven appeared.

I'm sorry about tonight.

Lily sat back up, throwing her fingers into her hair before quickly typing in her next response.

No it's alright. Completely consensual.

Okay cool.

But we shouldn't do it again.

Oh.

The girl felt her heart get ripped out of her heart as she read his text.

It's just that we broke up and Idk...

But we don't have to stay broken up.

No we should.

She waited another five minutes for a response from Riven, but one never came.
