Jaemin vs Jamie

Instead of being transported to a random world, the two Keyblade Wielders were transported to an unusual place.

As the two fought, it didn't take Jaemin long to realize that the place was something familiar that he had seen before. He had realized that it was a Dive to the Heart world, specifically his own, which was a world that was a physical manifestation of a Keyblade Wielder's heart.

Jaemin realized that he had seen it only once before in a dream, recognizing the stained glass art under their feet.

As they continued to fight, Jaemin eventually realized that trying to fight Jamie was futile, easily being overpowered by him. Regardless of that fact, he was determined to beat him. After feeling his lost strength return and suddenly remembering everything of his fallen comrades, he became all the more eager to help Jamie.

Thinking back on the list of each of the Gang Stars' powers they had been presented with, he realized that he had been fighting Jamie all wrong. His Prediction power enables him predict any moves that his opponent will make, as long as his opponent continues to act and fight while thinking. To throw Jamie's ability off, Jaemin calmed himself down and continued to fight him, but this time without thinking.

For the first time in his life, Jamie wasn't able to tell what his opponent was about to do, and he became horrified by that fact. He was able to block a few attacks thanks to his other senses, but Jaemin got a lot of good hits in. Eventually, Jaemin chose to fall back a bit, making Jamie wonder what his next move would be.

'Neither of us can use our Stands in this world, and his Stand can only attack at close range anyway.. The only thing he can do from that range is launch magic at me..'

Jamie raised his Keyblades up in front of him preparing to block, predicting that Jaemin would use magic to attack him.

But instead, Jaemin dematerialized his Keyblade and charged at Jamie head on.

'Huh?? Is he serious?? Why would he come straight for me?? It'll be easy for me to see what he's about to do and dodge his attack'

Jamie was extremely perplexed by Jaemin's actions, but prepared to dodge and attack him nonetheless.

But right before he was about to hit him, Jaemin suddenly teleported and disappeared right before his eyes. Jamie began to panic as he was unable to find him.

"...You're not gonna get me that easily Na Jaemin"

Out of his panic, Jamie used his Keyblade to create an Electromagnetic Tornado.

That specific technique allowed him to summon a ring of lasers, making it orbit around him. The rotation of the lasers created powerful winds that then encased him in a tornado.

While he was within the tornado, Jamie tried his best to find Jaemin, letting his guard down a bit. Jaemin then reappeared inside the tornado with him, and swiftly kicked Jamie's goggles with his leg that he had previously hardened, shattering them upon impact and knocking them off of his face.

The tornado disappeared right after he was kicked, the force of the blow also knocking Jamie back a far distance. However, the attack startled him so much that it caused Jamie to blink for the first time in years, bringing back the darkness that he feared. Jamie immediately went into an intense panic and screamed, which not only startled Jaemin but also made the entire world around them go black.

In a matter of a couple seconds, the world had completely changed into a field of flowers. The plants around them seemingly glowed, illuminated by the light of the moon in the night sky above them.

Jaemin felt his heart break seeing how Jamie seemed so scared that he couldn't even open his eyes, trapping himself in the darkness he feared.

All of his senses had completely shut down, leaving him vulnerable and unaware of Jaemin's location as tears left his eyes.

"..."

Jaemin slowly walked up to Jaemie as not to startle him more, and sat down in front of him.

All that could be heard from Jamie now were just the sounds of him crying, being tortured by the dark memories that returned to him.

"Jamie.. You can hear me right?"

Jaemin asked with a very quiet tone, and the latter simply nodded.

"I know it may be hard right now, but try to use your Prediction power to see what I'm about to do next"

"...O-Ok"

Even though he was still panicking and his eyes were closed, he was still able to see a blurry image of Jaemin in front of him.

But instead of attacking him like Jamie predicted he would, Jaemin just sat in front of him with open arms.

Jamie slowly uncovered his eyes and finally opened them, finding that what he saw was true. Tears continuously ran down his face as he looked at Jaemin with disbelief, only expecting to suffer more.

"W.. W-Why aren't you attacking me...?"

"I have no reason to attack you Jamie. I know that you've been through enough already. Continuing this fight would just be pointless"

"...?"

"...I may not be able to see into the past to know your pain, but as long as I'm by your side, I'll ensure that you have a better future, one where you won't have to live in fear anymore"

"..H-How can you be so sure...?"

"I may not be able to see the past, but as you know, my eyes hold the power to see the future, both in and out of my dreams. I can't change your past, but I can help you accept it and come to peace with it. That way, you can finally rest without being in fear. The darkness isn't always scary Jamie. Darkness holds our sleep, and sleep hold our dreams. Everybody needs rest to function properly, but you haven't had a single wink of sleep since you found out what power your new eyes held, nor have you blinked during that time. Believe me, the thought of seeing into anyone's future, including my own, used to scare me. I was afraid that I could alter the events that were meant to happen and break the laws of time. But as time went on, I learned to accept my power for what it is and use it the best way I can. I know that you can accept your power too, and even learn to control it better or work around it. But just know that you're not alone in this, and I'll always be here to help you Jamie"

Jaemin smiled at the latter, and encouraged him to hug him.

Overwhelmed by Jaemin's compassion and kind words towards him, Jamie's tears fell harder and he rushed into Jaemin's arms to be comforted by him.

"I'll show you the compassion and love that you've been denied Jamie, I promise"

In a matter of just mere seconds, Jamie had gotten so comfortable that he fell asleep in his arms, and after so many years, it was finally peaceful once again.

Not wanting to wake him up by moving, Jaemin simply laid back onto the flower ridden ground, taking a nap as well.

Some Time Later

Jamie didn't have a long nap, but woke up after a short while as he found it difficult to stay asleep.

Jaemin woke up as a result of feeling the latter move, happy to see that he got some rest.

"Did you have a good nap Jamie~?"

"..I did. After all these years, it felt really nice to finally get some sleep again. And I have you to think for that Jaemin "

He smiled, his eyes feeling a lot less irritated.

"Oh wait. I shattered your goggles didn't? I'm sorry.."

"No, it's ok! I can always buy new ones when I get the chance"

"Actually... You might not have to~"

"Hm??"

"While we were still in Ocean Town on Planet Loturn, I got you a little gift. I wanted to give it to you the next time we met"

Jaemin reached into the pouch he already had around his waist since they made it back to Ethora, pulling out the gift he had bought for Jamie.

The gift he had purchased was new pair of goggles.

"You really got these for me..?"

"Sure did~. I thought you would like them, especially with the tassels on the sides~"

"Jaemin... I...love them~. Thank you so much~"

Jamie hugged the latter once more before excitedly trying them on.

"How do I look~?"

"Absolutely amazing, and a lot happier~"

Jaemin's response caused Jamie to become a bit shy as he then raised the goggles to rest them on his forehead.

Just as the two stood up, a portal opened up for the two to go through.

"This is The Boss' doing right?"

"It is. It leads to a resting zone for us to stay in until the others are done"

"I see. Are you ready to go then?"

"Of course, since you're coming with me"

Jamie smiled, happy that Jaemin would be accompanying him past that point.

Despite being afraid of what The Boss would do to him, Jamie chose to team up with Jaemin, finally becoming his friend.
