Education is freedom to every girl
Education is freedom for every girl
Every hour of every night she looked at the crystal moon; at the red brand of slow autumn from her window; wishing to bring light back in her life. She tried to move on but she couldn't those stone-hearted people were killing her hopes every second but there was nothing she could do about it.
"Why are you sitting alone for the moon like always? Can't you see that the moon won't come today. It's all cloudy. Come inside and have dinner with us." Said her mother with her dupatta on her head and the other end being swirled in her hand.
"Yes ammi I am coming you go in" Amina replied
Ammi went in and so she followed her. Amina sat on the chair beside her father, Chaudery Jalaal and greeted him. Suddenly her brother Mustafa came asking her to get up as he wanted to sit there. Amina politely refused on which her father furiously said "You freak get up can't you see your brother standing" Amina stood and sat on the chair next to his brother on which his brother passed him a spiteful grin. Deep in heart Amina was broken. She just had a fake smile to cover this darkness. She used to cry alone in her room. She didn't have courage to fight her father and the corrupt Balochi tribe under him as nobody was aware of the modern world outside Baluchistan.
"Ab-b-bu j-jaan let me go to school. Bhai goes to school. Why don't you let me go to school? What's the issue" Amina stammered while finishing her sentence.
"Shut up, how many times do I need to tell you to focus on house work? Mustafa is studying because he has to earn in the future and you are going to be married soon, now go into your room and don't show me your face" Jalaal replied scornfully
Amina zipped her mouth because she knew that's its useless to talk to her father. She already tried to persuade him several times but wasn't successful. Each and every time she gripped her feelings and wished to throw them away but this time she wanted to do something for her and so she decided what to do. She packed her bag by putting some clothes, eatables, and about ten thousand rupees that she stole from her father's wallet.
When her father was attending the meeting of tribal chiefs and her mother was preparing food in the kitchen. She snuck out of her house and went to the train station in Quetta there she bought the ticket and went Punjab as no other train was going to any other province so unfortunately she had no choice. But luckily Amina had a friend Maliha in Punjab who received her. Maliha also belonged to Baluchistan but her parents came to Punjab because they wanted her to study.
Amina was glad to see Maliha and took her to her house and told her that she could stay there for a few days. She also told her about the scholarships in public schools and free hostel room if she did well in her studies.
A few days later Amina gave her entry test and on the result day she was astounded. She got first place with this she got permission to live in the hostel for free. She was on 100% scholarship. Amina was happy because her dreams were becoming true. Inside she was gloomy because she had left her parents however now she was totally independent
Soon she shifted to the hostel and before leaving she thanked Maliha because without her help she mightn't be able to fulfill her dreams.
Amina studied hard and became a well known doctor in the city. She had her own villa and was declared one of the prosperous women in the city. During her studies she never went back to Baluchistan because she was scared that what she would do if her parents don't let her complete her studies but his time she wanted to go back and meet them.
When she reached Baluchistan she was shocked to hear see that her brother had passed away in a bomb blast and the family had no source of income. She saw her parents starving due to hunger. Their tribe had left due to poverty. When her parents saw their daughter they cried due to their awful behavior with her in the past but they were delighted to see her success. They realized that daughters are equal to sons. They felt sorry for her and Amina also said sorry as she ran without telling anybody. She took her parents with her to Punjab. She earned and fed them. Her life became a lesson not only for the people in Baluchistan but for the people all over the world.
To aware her society she also wrote a book known as: "Education is freedom for every girl" which became a worldwide seller.
