"Jesus Christ," Anneliese anxiously throws her phone onto the kitchen counter, not wanting to know how anything plays out - in any capacity. So many different emotions were flowing through her veins, some that she had never really felt in a long time. She ran her hands through her hair, eventually covering her eyes. Maybe this is some sick dream; an alternate reality and I'm just in a seriously deep sleep. 

"Anne! Did you die?" Beck's nonchalantly yells from the couch as he continues to scroll through a plethora of shows and movies. Of course he was curious as to what his best friend could have possibly been doing for the past fifteen minutes in the kitchen. All she was supposed to be doing was making a singular bag of popcorn.

Annelise desperately nods despite Beckett's attention being elsewhere. Yeah, she definitely felt like she died a little. Before she could get any deeper into her thoughts, Anne snatched her phone, as well as the bowl of semi-warm popcorn, from the kitchen counter and made her way back to the couch.

"I know that look," Beck chuckles, watching as Anneliese makes herself comfortable beside him. She was mumbling words that only she could hear and making little expressions; something that she always would do when something was bothering her. "What drama unfolded between here and the kitchen?"

Anneliese stays quiet for a moment as she watches the opening credits of '10 Things I Hate About You.' As much as she adored the perfection that was Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles, she wasn't able to quiet all of the conflicting thoughts that were floating around in her mind. 

"I found out that Erica's going on a date with Tom. After she kissed him the other night," she blurts out, finally feeling a little better. Beckett's jaw practically drops to the floor after hearing about the new bombshell.  "Which I should be happy about, I know. But I just.. I can't and I don't really know why."

Beckett turns his body towards Anneliese's, delicately taking her small hands into his. He certainly was her other half, and it seemed as if whatever she felt, he did as well. Which also meant that he knew how to comfort her.

"I mean, you do have a right to be a bit upset. You've liked him for a while now.. even before you two officially met. But I do admire the fact that you're trying to be supportive," he comforts, tucking a stray piece of Anne's hair behind her ear. "I'm sure Erica would do anything to make you happy. This may just be a weird exception or something. I definitely would, but you already know that."

Anneliese cracks a soft smile, thankful that she had found someone that was such a positive constant in her life. The tranquility lasted for a moment before she leaned forwards to lay her forehead on Beck's shoulder. "God, I feel like a horrible person!" 

"You're not, Annie. Believe me," Beck assures. If there was anything he was certain about, it was how to cheer up an emotionally mangled Anneliese Taylor. "How would you feel if I tried to round up a group to grab drinks and do some karaoke with? Maybe Gavin, Aubrey and Gwil?" 

She paused for a moment, contemplating if she would rather go out or stay in. On one hand, she could use a nonchalant night. But on the other, she had just given her blessing to one of her closest friends to go out with the guy she liked first. 

She definitely needed a distraction.
