I'm sitting in the car, watching my parent's load our entire life into a car. They seem excited.

I, however, am not.

While I may not like living in the busy Chicago, I've spent my entire life here and it just seems wrong to leave. I guess I don't have it too bad seeing as I don't have any friends, have never joined any clubs, and can really live the exact same life in Georgia but......still. I've barely left this town. I know it so well. I have places around town I like to hang out in and stuff. I guess I'll miss them.

Oh well, everything is packed now. My mom says something, but I have Sleeping with Sirens blaring to loud to hear. I don't want to hear. It's to early for this crap.

I listened to my entire playlist of my favorite songs about five times over. I've been in this damned car for about 7 hours. I start to complain about being hungry, so we stop at a McDonald's. I fall asleep full of McNuggets and when I wake up again, I'm in Georgia.

Time: 2:00 PM

The car stops and I wake up. I'm a very light sleeper. I get out of the car and pick up a box labeled "LIVING ROOM KNICK KNAKS"

I face the house. It's pretty nice since my parents moved to a suburb. You know one of those perfect little towns with perfect little families? We are gonna get kicked out fast.

The house is three floors, each of which being pretty big. It is mainly white with accents of dark blue. It's just like all the suburb houses. It even has one of those backyards with a pool that just screams barbecue.

I walk in the front door and walk through the main entrance hall thing into the living room. It has a high ceiling with white walls and a bay window. I set the box down and sigh.

I close my eyes and think about how different things will be here. I must have been standing there for ten or fifteen minutes, when I feel a hand on my shoulder.

Startled I open my eyes. I immediately know it's my mother. She gently squeezes my shoulder "Hey...."

I don't say anything.

"I know the move has been hard on you."

Again, I say nothing.

"But it's for the better."

Nothing.

"We get a fresh start."

Silence

My mom sighs deeply. "Your dad and I have to go to the zoo now to set up. We'll be back in about two hours and when we get back we'll go school shopping. Why don't you go set up your new room? It's the second to the left."

My mom walks out of the door with my dad, who was standing silently in the corner. I continue to stand there holding my arms until I hear my mom's car start and drive away.

Well I might as well unpack if I'm going to have to stay.

I walk up the grand staircase. It has nice carvings on the railings of two roaring lions. I walk into my room. This is the room my parents never let me see because they wanted it to be a surprise.

I walked in and WOW. It has a balcony, a loft with curtains, a giant queen sized canopy bed, a drawing desk, a walk-in closet with a floor length mirror (definitely gonna cover that up), and my own personal bathroom that was nicer than the shared bathroom at our old house.

I knew we inherited a lot but.. WOW!! I quickly check to make sure this is my room and yep, yep it is.

I plop down on my bed and just kinda look around. The bed was so comfortable, that I accidentally fell asleep. What? I had to wake up at four am! And I didn't go to sleep till three am!

I was woken by my mom gently shaking my shoulder. I looked up at her and she smiled brightly.

"Do you like your new room?"

And for the first time all day, I responded.

"I love it mom."

The smile on her face lit up the universe
