Chapter 17

Double Battle!

-Asher-

My arms were restrained to a chair along with my legs. My vision was swaying and my black hair hung in my eyes. I could taste the bitterness of my blood on my lips. My shirt was stained with it.

The one door in this interrogation room opened. I looked up and saw the entire leader of this operation.

"Are you comfortable?" He asked.

"Go to hell." I muttered.

"I would watch your tongue if I were you."

"And if I were you, I would be messing with something you can't control."

I looked to the metallic table to my right and saw various torture tools and my belt of Pokeballs.

"Tell us where Mewtwo is!" The leader slammed his fist on the table.

The tools scattered across the room. One even landed by my foot. I paid it no mind so this maniac wouldn't notice it.

"I'm not telling you anything!" I spat.

"Don't tell me we have to get your puny brother involved."

My heart stopped. How would he know about Griffin?

"You didn't think your brother would go after you? He's been searching for you ever since we attacked that school. He has even gotten in our way more than once. I have been playing with the idea of having him exterminated."

I lunged forward but my restraints kept me in my chair.

"If you touch him, you are going to pray for death when I get my hands on you!" I threatened.

"The only thing I pray for is that you will tell us where the creature is before you run out of blood."

The leader left and three henchmen returned to continue my torture.

"What if there was a ice cream pizza?" I wondered aloud.

"That is an intriguing thought, but what if there was a pizza flavored ice cream?" Mia said.

"That would be phenomenal." I nodded my head.

After our little poacher fiasco yesterday, I had started to get along fine with Mia. She was pretty much like Liam. Silly humor, getting excited over everything, and she loved her Pokemon.

"Double battle!" Liam screeched as he slung his arm around my shoulder.

"What are doing?" I asked in bewilderment .

"Griffin and I challenge, you girls, to a double battle!"

"I never agreed to this." I sighed.

"Fine. Me and Zoey can take you!" Mia smirked.

"This is just an attempt to show off isn't it?" I whispered to Liam.

"Yep." He whispered back.

"Each person gets one Pokemon?" Zoey asked.

"Sure, one's all I need." Liam boasted.

We moved away from our camp and chose a clearing for our battlefield. I lined up next to Liam and unclipped Kit's Pokeball from my belt.

"Go, Ivy!"

"Come on out, Shinx!"

The girls threw out their Pokemon. We followed suit.

"Lets go, Donphan!"

"Kit, your up!"

Our Pokemon appeared in a flash of light from our Pokeballs.

"Ladies first." Liam bowed and winked at me.

He knew that Kit could use Sucker Punch and since Sucker Punch hits only when someone else has the first move.

"Shinx, lets start things off with-"

"Sucker Punch!" I ordered.

Kit dashed towards Shinx at speeds that would make a Crobat dizzy. Kit delivered a fast punch to Shinx's stomach.

"Nice!" Liam gave me a high five.

"Ivy, Vine Whip on Donphan!" Mia commanded.

Vines slithered out from the Snivy's shoulder blades. They danced in the air and then whipped Donphan a few times.

"Donphan, Rollout!"

Donphan grunted and shrugged off the pain. He curled up in a ball and spun towards Ivy. Ivy gracefully flipped over Donphan.

"Donphan spin around and use Rollout again!"

Donphan turned and nailed Ivy in the back. The Grass-Type went flying across the battlefield. Ivy landed hard on the ground but got up.

"Shinx, Thunder!"

Electricity raced through the small Pokemon's fur. A huge lighting bolt shot out from Shinx's back. The attack went straight to Kit. My Zorua cried out in pain from the attack.

"C'mon, Kit! Feint Attack!"

Kit was absorbed in a purple light. Kit charged at Ivy and rammed into her. Ivy slid across the ground.

"Ivy, Razor Leaf!"

Ivy quickly recovered from the attack. The Snivy spun around and sent dozens of leaves flying towards our Pokemon. Both Donphan and Kit were cut up by the bits of green.

"Shinx, use Bite on Donohan!" Zoey called to her Pokemon.

Shinx pounced on the much larger Pokemon. Shinx sunk his teeth on the exposed flesh of Donphan's leg. Donphan grunted in pain and threw Shinx off of him. Shinx tumbled to the ground.

"Donphan, Take Down!"

Donphan rammed right into Shinx. The Electric-Type went flying to its master's feet.

"Look's like you're out!" Liam jeered.

"Liam, shut up." Zoey snapped as she returned her Pokemon.

"I think the great Zoey Sparks has lost her touch."

"Shut up before you get yourself killed, Liam." I said.

Liam left on his confident smirk and returned to the battle.

"Kit, use Snarl." I ordered to my Pokemon.

Kit's face twisted up in, well a snarl. Kit showed off her fangs and a blast of dark energy jetted off towards Ivy. The Grass-Type was unable to dodge and took the attack head on.

"Come on, Ivy! We have to keep fighting. Use Leaf Blade on Donphan!"

The Snivy summersaulted in the air. Her leaf shaped tail light up with a bright green color. Ivy brought her tail down on Donphan's armored back. The battle was wearing down on Donphan. Donphan cried out in pain and his knees gave in.

"Crap! Good job, buddy." Liam returned his Pokemon.

It was now just Kit and Ivy.

"Kit, use Feint Attack!"

"Dodge!"

Kit charged at Ivy while cloaked in a purple light. The Snivy flipped up in the air and away from the attack.

"Leaf Blade!"

"Night Daze!"

The two ran at each other and smoke filled the air from the colliding attacks. I waved the smoke away from my face and coughed. Both of the Pokemon were on the ground in defeat.

"You did good, girl." I brushed Kit's fur as I returned her to her Pokeball. "What was this all for again?" I asked Liam.

"I kinda sucked it up when we were facing the poachers, so I wanted show that I was good at battling." Liam shrugged.

I shook my head and stood up. Zoey and Mia approached us.

"Nice battle." Zoey said.

"Yeah, good job, guys!" Mia exclaimed.

"You too!" I smiled.

"Hey, Mia." Liam said. "Do you think there's any chance of me becoming a Pokemon Ranger. I've never really known what to do with myself. I mean, I'm decent at battling but I'm not good enough to do it competitively. I'm really good with Pokemon and I love the outdoors. So do you think I have makings of a Ranger?"

"I think you'd be a great Ranger!" Mia threw her arm around his shoulder.

I was happy for Liam. His entire time at the Academy he had been wondering what he would do after he graduated. He finally figured out what he wanted to do and he knew it would make him happy.

"Hey, Nuz." I walked over to my Pokemon.

It was night time now and we had just finished supper. Nuz had wandered off into the trees. Nuz was looking up at the large pine trees. Obviously, reminded of the Shiftry.

I bent down next to Nuz. My fingers wrapped around the Leaf Stone in my pocket. I held it out to Nuz.

"I saw the way you were looking at those Shiftry. You can evolve if you want to. It's your choice." I told him.

He looked at me then to the stone. I could tell he was thinking everything through in his head. He reached his hand out to the stone. He was about to touch it, but hesitated. He looked to me again. I gave him an encouraging nod. He placed his hand on the Leaf Stone. It started glowing a bright green color. The stone dissolved and Nuz started glowing with the same light.

Nuz grew slightly tall and bigger. I could see every part of his body changing in the glowing light. The light soon died out and Nuz wasn't a Nuzleaf anymore. Nuz's face was covered by a long mane of white hair. His arms were now leafy branches and he was more stout and his body looked like it was made from wood.

"Shiftryyyyy!" He roared.

His leafy arm light up and he swung it at a tree. The tree snapped in half and toppled to the ground.

"Now, lets see what your capable of!"

Author note: I'm back! Sorry for the long wait. I have been extremely busy but track is going to end this week so I should be more available. Schoolwork has also started to pick up I don't know if I'm having some sort of final test. So yeah. Chapter was kinda short and pretty rushed. Hopefully, the next will be better.
