"Do you want to hear about the deal I'm making?"

I stand up and grab a near by chair. I place it directly under the gate and stand on top of it. "Dustin stay here," I state.

"No, I'm not staying while you both are in there" he firmly says. "Dustin!" I yell and turn my gaze to him. "It will be ok, just please stay here"

I turn back to the gate, I kneel down then jump as high as I can. My hands reach the gate and I use all my strength to pull my self up. I feel Dustin's hands on my legs. He helps push me up and I go through.

I land on my side and curse in pain. Eddie had moved the mattress which I hadn't noticed till now.
I landed on my right arm, which I am sure is now broken.

Without a second thought I jump up and rush out the trailer door. I look around me taking deep breaths as I do.

I hear Eddie yell from my right and I rush past the trailer. Once I see the swarm of bats I know that's where he is.

I sprint as fast as I can to get to him in time.  I run into a few things that had been outside other trailers. But I don't worry about them. Im not worried about my arm and how much pain it's in. I don't worry about not having a single weapon or a plan. I'm not worried about anything besides Eddie.

There's too many bats to even see if he's alive in there. I stop and look around me for a second. I see a wooden panel and grab it. I swing it around so the bats move.

I'm not just gonna sit back and watch this time!

I see Eddie standing in the middle of them trying to get them away from him. I run to him and grab one of the spears that he had brought with him. I stand behind him and hold it out in front of me swinging at anything that comes near him.

I slightly turn and see Eddie's arm is bleeding.

"I thought I told you to stay safe!" He yells. "And I told you not to go. I guess we both don't listen to things we're told to do" I state and hit another bat.

"That's why we're perfect my darling Gracie". He laughs and swings at the bats again. I smile and yell as I hit another one. "Come on!" He yells and hits his shield and spear together.

The bats start to swirl up into the air and circle above us. For the few moments we have until they come back to fight us I turn and hug Eddie tightly.

I place my hands around his neck and he holds my waist.

"Is it to early to say I love you Eddie?" I whisper he pulls back and smiles. "Never," before we can continue the bats circle back down to us. Pulling us apart.

I'm pushed down away from him and the things I was holding are thrown to my side. A bat flies past my head then comes back to me. My eyes widen and a loud pain filled scream leave my lips as a bat takes a deep bite right where I was cut from before.

Another stops at my shoulder taking flesh with it as well. Eddie runs to me and hits them both with his shield.

I smile at him. He holds out a hand for me. Before I take it a bat comes flying towards him.

His facial expression drops and he falls to the ground. I see that two bats are on his back. I stand up, grab his shield and hit them both. Neither of them move.

A larger bat comes and latches its tail around his neck. Eddie grabs it with both of his hands and struggles to breathe as it tightens its grip on him.

As I work on the two on his back, another comes for his torso. He falls to his side and tears flood my eyes. I try as hard as I can to stop them but they are strong.

I kick the one on his stomach away from him and it goes flying. The two on his back flew on his face but before they can leave truly bad marks they stop.

The bats around us just stop, they all fall to the ground and lay there. I'm hesitant to move but when I hear Eddie choking I drop to my knees and hold him.

"Eddie... are- are you ok?" I sob. Blood slowly starts to pool from his stomach. The scratches on his face start to bleed as well.

"Eddie!" I hear from beside us. I see Dustin limping towards us. Tears on his cheeks,
  He drops next to us and holds Eddie's hand just as I do.

The pain in my head returns. I ignore it and keep my focus on Eddie. "Oh god Eddie" Dustin sobs and holds his bleeding wounds.

"I told you not to go" I cry and carefully move the hair out of his face. Eddie laughs making him choke more then he already was.

Tears slowly fall from my eyes as I see the sight before me.

"Its bad huh?" He asks referring to his wounds. "No, No, no" Dustin says. "You'll be fine Eddie, You'll be fine" I whisper. "We're gonna get you to a hospital" Dustin states. I try and help Dustin get Eddie up but Eddie just won't move.

"Guys!" Eddie says. We ignore him and still try and get him up. "Guys stop!" He yells. We stop and look at him.

"Let me just- rest here for a minute ok?" He says. "No! Eddie, No! We're gonna get you help...Please" I state and pull him up again. He stops me and grabs my wrist making me sob more. "Eddie Please..."

"Gracie, it's alright. I'm ok, just let me rest..." I stay silent and nod my head. "I just need a second ok?" He repeats. Dustin and I nod.

Eddie stops groaning in pain and smiles up at us. I slowly shake my head as his grin grows wider. "I didn't runaway this time right?" He asks. I turn away and close my eyes. I can't see him like this. I just can't. I refuse to watch him die.

"No, No you didn't run this time Eddie" Dustin says. "You're gonna have to look after those little sheep for me okay Henderson?" Eddie says. With my eyes still closed I feel him grip my hand tighter. "No! You're gonna do that yourself" Dustin states firmly.

"No man" I feel Eddie shake his head and Dustin's sobs begin to sound louder. "Just say you will ok?"

Dustin takes a deep breath through his cries and nods. "I'll look after them" he whispers.

I feel Eddie let go of my hand and bring his hand to my cheek. I shake my head and keep my eyes closed tightly. "Please look at me" he whispers.

I open my eyes and a few tears fall from them.
  "I love you too, it's never too early to say it. Only too late...and I refuse to be too late, my princess Gracie" he groans and his eyes slowly start to close.

"No Eddie, don't you even think about it" I say firmly and they open again. "We have that date? Remember?" I sob. "I was gonna teach you how to drum"

He laughs. "And I was gonna teach you how to play guitar" I nod to his answer. "We will still go on our date...Friday...I promise" he states. Her turns to Dustin and smiles, nodding his head towards me.

"I think it's finally my year Henderson" He states. Dustin laughs through his cries and nods. "I love you Dustin" Eddie says. Dustin shakes his head. "I love you too" he answers quietly.

Eddie coughs again this time blood comes out with the cough. "Eddie..." Dustin whispers. I shake my head and grab his hand again. "Eddie no, Eddie please no. Don't leave..." I beg.

Eddie's head slowly turns as we hear him take his last breath.

"Don't you die on us Munson!" I scream into his chest. "No!"

The world feels like it's at a halt. Only this moment is moving. I shake my head as tears pool out of my eyes. He promised...

"No..." I whisper. I stop crying and sit up. "No!" I yell. I kick his bike and it crashed into a near by trash can.

"No!" I scream louder then ever. "Why?" I whisper. My entire body feels like it's on fire. The pain in my head is only getting worse. I stop and fall to the ground. I hear a loud bang ring through my ears.

I feel something start to go through my shirt. I look down and see blood. It almost looks like I've been shot. But it doesn't hurt

I look up and everything is gone. The trailer park, Dustin...Eddie.

Everything is just pitch black. I turn around and see a small blue light pulsing...as I watch it, the light slowly starts to go out.

I hear the same clock that I've heard countless of times ring again. This time four chimes.

My heart drops as I hear the final ring. "Max" I whisper.

I hear something loud behind me so I quickly turn.
  My eyes go wide and fear floods through me.

"Please I'll do anything..." I beg.

"Please!"

The ground starts to shake and I'm back in the upside down. I see Dustin above me shaking me awake. "Thank god you're ok, I thought I lost you too" He states, tears still falling from his eyes.

I grab his hand and start to run towards the gate.
"We have to leave!" I yell. "What about Eddie?" Dustin says and stops.

"He- he'll be ok, it will be fine" I say. No more tears have fallen. Things will be ok. I've made sure of it.

"Grace No! We can't leave him!" Dustin states. "Dustin! If we don't go, We. Will. Die." I explain.

He nods as the shaking gets worse. We make it inside and I help Dustin up. He makes it through and lands on his side making him wince in pain. Before I can jump up the gate seems to be getting larger. We both watch as it starts to move towards town.

I quickly jump through the new formed gate and land on the other side.

Dustin takes my hand and places Eddie's black bandana in the palm of my hand. "Thanks.." I say with a sad tone.

Hopefully this really works out...otherwise everything I've given up was for nothing.

Lmao, this was a...chapter...definitely. Hope you all have enjoyed this book so far. It's been really fun writing it. Hope you all are having a great day, <3
