A warm and sucrose-rich drink, mixed with low-fat milk and the finest camellia leaves was a way to start the day for Felix Albrecht Barlowe the IV. Sipping the finest tea of the land was calming and relaxing. The weeds in his mind were slowly but surely, being weeded. Being the prince of the Acnestis Kingdom was a hard job. Making new policies, new laws, and coordinating with neighbouring kingdoms, was not a child's play. The day before today, he was with 'King Gorge V' or Uncle Gorge for short. He was a plump and rather cheeky person. He was a man in his early 30s, with a shiny bald head with a few white strands, a white beard (which is hated by Felix with a passion), piercing black eyes and golden earrings were his style. He smelled like onions which made Felix gag.

 Their deal was to explore the Aegaeon Reef, a quaint little island which was known for unfamiliar or unusual sightings. Felix speculated that this would be a threat to both of their kingdoms and requested an alliance with him. Their deal was cancelled due to the statements made by one of Uncle Gorge's ministers, which was:- "Oh, I know why are you doing this shitty deal, sire! You could sneak one of your men as undercover into his treasury and create a false situation! You are such a dexterous person, sire!". 

Felix knew his Uncle Gorge was a two-faced man, this was not a surprise to him. Instead, he made sure to tighten the security on the borders of his castle. All his life being a prince was debilitating, he sometimes wanted to have a significant other. A person who could taper off his work. A person who could love him. Alas, every female who approached him wanted his fame and riches. They never loved him but loved his tons of gold, emeralds, diamonds and whatnot.

 They wanted his fame. Being wed to a prince this rich was an honour and a thing to flaunt to other duchesses. Once on a 'date' (as his parents called it), he asked a direct question.

 "Do you love me?". 

The response came. "Yes, of course, my love!". He asked another witty question, as a test. 

"Why do you love me? ". The female was stunned for a moment, not expecting this question.

 "Um...because you are handsome?".  "Thank you. And?" 

" What do you mean, your majesty?"

" What else do you love about me?"  

"Um...what else is there?" 

He was livid. He banished her from his kingdom, forever. Seeing that their son did not treat a fine maiden well, his parents engaged him to Clarissa Elrod Oppenheimer. A young lady in her early twenties. She had sun-kissed skin, rosy cheeks, big blue eyes and blonde hair. She could make any man lovesick for her, using her beauty. Yet, Felix felt nothing for the young lady. She was like a sister to him rather than a lover, which she completely understood. The irony was, that she too was not in love with him or even attracted to him in any form. They both acted like siblings rather than lovers, even though they were engaged. 

Rumours had it that they even had sex. 

The irony was, that they both did not even have their first kiss, yet. 

"Hey, old man!"

Clarissa enters, wearing an extravagant gown. Made up of the finest silk in the land. She was wearing a dark green gown, with jet-black heels and a red ribbon holding her blonde hair. 

The most bothering part of her attire was the ring. 

It was a pretty thing. 

Made up of the finest silver and a huge diamond adorned on it. It had tiny carvings on its sides too. 

Rings were a symbol of love. 

A promise that, they would be together till the end of the line.

Yet, both knew it held no value. 

"Stop calling me that, Cas."

"Oh shut it! So, did you hear, there is a ball tonight!", she wriggles her eyebrows at him, suggestively. Felix's cheeks heat and his stomach erupts in millions of butterflies.

"Yes, I have heard and no, he is not coming!"

" Yes, he is! I will pretend to be sick so, you can have some 'talk' we him!", as she makes air quotes. 

" Nothing is going to happen!"

" Who said anything will happen?", she stresses on the word 'will'

"....."

" Oh, your face is all red! You love him!"

Felix's heart beats faster, his palms grow cold. A thin, yet, noticeable layer of clear and blue ice covers the handle of the cup, he was drinking tea from. 

He looks at it and sighs.

About the kingdoms (DO NOT SKIP!!) 

1) The Kingdom of Acnestis: It is the kingdom that has the most flourishing economy after the Queendom of Elisora. Previously, a different family who were tyrants ruled the land, but Felix's family who were just one of the nobles, rose to power and defeated the tyrants with the help of the Meldrop kingdom. They were put in place of the previous tyrants, due to high public demand. 

 They have many seaports, allowing smooth trade and money to come into the nation, flourishing its economy. This is one of the kingdoms with the lowest tax rates--5%-- as the nation receives enough money from exchanging goods and their mine reserves. The royal family, as they are a bit orthodox, rarely visit their citizens. But they make sure to do their duties well. It is also the second most populous notion. On the contrary, it is also the nation with the highest poverty rate, as there is a huge gap between the rich and the poor

  Their motto: The strong protect the weak.

There are three types under it.

1) Lelm (Bronze) 

 2) Henaten (Silver) 

 3) Dina (Gold)

(1) Lelm = 3 dollars.

(1) Henaten = (12) Lelms 

(1) Dina = (23) Henatens or (276) Lelms

In this kingdom, we have three types of coins. Bronze, Silver and Gold. Everyone would say their names, not the materials they are made from. For example: One would not say, " I have 5 silver coins.". Instead they would say, " I have 5 Henatens". Hope that clears everything. 

The royals and nobles often use Dina, the gold coin, as they are quite rich. Whereas the peasants use Henaten and Lelm, mostly. We would learn more about their currency in the future chapters.  Lastly, here the material of the coins tells it's value, not the number, for obvious reasons. 

Additionally, this kingdom only uses coins, as they are more durable, you will not find notes here.

2) The Kingdom of Meldrop: A rising economy and the most safe kingdom after the kingdom of Findara. A few years ago, due to an earthquake, the castle's land was separated, leaving it on a small island near the mainland. It does reduce connectivity and leaves the mainland at high risk in a war, as troops may not reach fast, but it does provide more connectivity for the royal family to the other nations. 

It has the second highest tax rate--15%--after the kingdom of Findara. It was ruled by the royal family for many generations and is a famous sight for many breathtaking views of nature. The royal family makes frequent visits to their loyal subjects and has a good relationship with them. This makes it the most favoured nation to move into. However, it faces many natural disasters, like floods daily.

Currency: Kher

In this kingdom, their are only notes. There are no coins,  the reason will be revealed later on. Here the system is simple, the number written on the notes tells it's value, not the material. I mean, paper itself does not have much value, naturally. This is how  Kher looks like:

1 Kher = 2 dollars. 

Language spoken: Vehti (40%)  and Engpogian (60%)

3) The Queendom of Elisora: It is the only female-dominating nation, and the only nation with multiple allies and enemies. In the past, gender discrimination was at its peak in this nation, many females revolted against it for centuries. With the help of the Kingdom of Findara, the majority of the female population along with the princess--now queen-- defeated the tyrants ruling and took their rightful place. The current Queen is the one with the most power and ensures gender discrimination against any gender is punished. 

Along with that, it has the best economy and is the most populous nation. It is the richest nation, as it has many diamond and gold reserves. However, it does have a high tax rate--20%--but it offers safety and a good lifestyle. Due to not having a good relationship with the Zylith Tribe, they constantly get attacked by them. 

Their motto: Leaders aren't born, they are made.

Language spoken: Kemuan (30 %), Tawʻri (10 %) and Be̥jèian (60%) 

3) The Tribal Community of Zylith: Not much is known about them, as no one can understand their language. But they are the most notorious community, as they send many sea dragons to the Queendom of Elisora for no particular reason. They are said to practice dark magic and witchcraft, which are frowned upon by many. No one has tried to conquer this community for unknown reasons.

4) The Kingdom of Findara: The only kingdom with no known enemies, it is famous for remaining a neutral character in wars. It was ruled by the royal family for centuries and is the most peaceful nation as well. It is the safest nation and offers a 40% tax rate and the best lifestyle. It is also known to send many spies to its neighbours. It has the strongest military after the Queendom of Elisora.

 It is also the nation with the most towers and castles. The royal family makes rare visits to their citizens but rules the nation well. They are known to face some supernatural disasters as well.
