01: mr flirts alot potter.

"I DON'T WANT TO!" Marlene Mckinnon sighed, hanging upside down on Selene's bed, a pout on her lips.

Selene smiled at the sight as she picked up her bag, "We have to meet Lily, Marls. You know she would kill us if we stood her up."

Marlene shook her head the pout still evident.

Selene rolled her eyes and walked over to the girl, "don't make me drag you to the library."

Marlene looked up and smirked at the brunette not moving. The brunette huffed and grabbed a hold of the blonde dragging her off the bed to the floor.

Marlene gasped, "You're dragging me against my will, Sel."

"I know," Selene scoffed, while attempting to drag Marlene further, "And you are heavy!"

Marlene gasped finally getting up from the floor, "I'm as light as a feather, thank you very much." She eyed Selene, with mock offense.

"I will believe it when you walk on your own!" Selene smiled sweetly, opening the door.

.....

SELENE AND MARLENE WALKED INTO THE LIBRARY TO MEET LILY. Marlene peered over to the corner where Lily sat and broke out into a burst of bark-like laughter, "Oh my god look over at Lily she looks like she wants to pitch herself off the astronomy tower."

Selene looked up with amusement and matched where Marlene's gaze was to see the one and only, James Potter obviously being flirtatious.

Selene scrunched her nose and looked back over to Marlene, "What do you say, we go save her— or should we escape while we can?"

Marlene pondered on it for a moment, "Both risky." She said, "I don't particularly want to study so that would be the upside, but i am more scared of what Lily would do if we stood her up."

A moment went by when she finally spoke up, "Let us go save his 'Lily Flower'." She smirked.

Selene nodded and linked her arm with the blonde, the two made their way over to where Lily and James sat. Selene looked over at the two, an unfamiliar feeling bubbling in her stomach.

There sat James Potter, a bright flirty smile upon his face. Then, to his left, there was Lily. The redhead held a scowl that Selene assumed to take permanent residence whenever the boy was near.

"Why thank you Potter for keeping Lily entertained for us," Selene said in a sarcastic tone while dramatically pushing James off of the chair right next to the redhead.

James turned to look at Selene for a moment,  in utter disbelief and then back to Lily who was giving him her same scowl. "It was no trouble, Ray." He said smugly, "Say, Lily, a Hogsmeade trip is approaching-"

Before James could even finish his sentence all that Lily said was "No."

Selene looked to James, his normal smug smirk was replaced with a slight frown.

Marlene suddenly gasped, "Oh Potter, haven't you heard Lily is my wife. How dare you!"

The three girls all burst out into laughter. Selene's running short by seeing the look on James' face.

"You could study with us?" She offered.

At that James' face returned to his normal smug smirk "I didn't know you felt that way about me, Ray."

"Go."

"Okay."

.....

THE NEXT MORNING Marlene, Lily, Selene, and Alice walked into the great hall. They usually sat by the marauders. The girls all got along quite well with Remus. He was the one with the most common sense out of the four.

James and Sirius always seemed to be off in their own world.

Except for the very often times that James would embarrass himself by shamelessly flirting with his precious Lily.

Lily, Marlene, and Alice didn't choose to hangout with the self proclaimed marauders
Selene seemed to be the only one who hung out with them fairly often. Ever since the first ride to Hogwarts, they always got on pretty well, except for James' infatuation with Lily. It annoyed Selene but she didn't quite know why.

The four marauders and Selene would sometimes hang out in the common room on nights when Lily, Marlene, and Alice were studying.

Selene would join her friends to study too but sometimes she would rather just to hangout.

Selene sat down next to Sirius Black and James
Potter while Lily sat next to Alice Fortescue and Marlene McKinnon sat next to Peter Pettigrew and Remus Lupin

"Good Morning." Selene smiled politely, at the two marauders beside her Sirius looked over to her and returned the smile, though it was more of a smirk. "We were just talking about you."

Oh, merlin. "Well, that can't be good." Selene laughed while picking up a piece of toast and spreading jam on it.

"Oh but it is Selly" Sirius grinned continuing, "Prongs here is struggling with muggle studies, and as you are a muggle-born, who we have heard excels at that subject. This would be a perfect opportunity to help our dear friend.

She chose to ignore his choice of name for her, "Out of all of the subjects, you are struggling with muggle studies?" Selene asked.

James nodded.

Selene sighed, "Fine, meet me at the black lake after dinner."

James nodded once again going back to his conversation with whoever. Maybe he was talking to his food.

...

Selene was now in herbology. This was her one
class that she had no friends in, somehow she had gotten stuck in the class alone.

"Today we are learning about Gilly Weed."
Professor Sprout started eyeing the class, "Can anyone tell me what gilly weed can do?"

Selene raised her hand," Gilly Weed is a magical plant, when eaten, allows the consumer to breathe underwater."

Sprout smiled "Correct Miss Ray! 10 points to Gryffindor."

"I want a five foot essay going more in depth on Gilly Weed in my hand by the end of the hour everyone."

Everyone groaned. Normally it was a more hands on type of class.

....

After class Selene decided to go to the common room to finish her potions homework. She was walking back up to the castle from the greenhouse admiring everything around her. It was a sunny fall day the leaves were already changing all different colors. This was Selene's favorite time of year.

Selene approached the doors leading back inside, it was afternoon now and the girl decided to go and get lunch before heading back up to the common room.

Normally she ate lunch alone since anyone she knew had already eaten but today a certain bespectacled boy was sitting there.

"I didn't know the one and only Potter would eat alone." Selene gasped dramatically while sitting across from James.

"Nature calls," James smirked while wiggling his eyebrows.

James had a great heart, truly. She could see it after being around the boy daily over the past six years. He was warm and trusting. He held his friends above everything. He may look like an arrogant toerag (as Lily likes to say) but, there was more to him. There was more that laid beyond his usual smirk.

The Gryffindor was always there whenever his friends needed him. He was as loyal as they come .

He was caring and kind and Selene could see that.

He was also the most oblivious bloke she had ever come across. He was also very mischievous, a perfect Marauder.

Selene gave him a blank stare "I don't think that's how that phrase is used."

James shrugged and continued to eat his sandwich.

Selene sighed and shoveled some strawberries onto her plate before trying to make conversation.

"Okay, what's up?"

James looked up from his plate and gave Selene a confused look. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Not wanting to push James on what was bothering him, Selene just nodded and they ate in silence.

Many awkward moments later owls started to flood into the great hall "This is a weird time for owls to be delivering mail." Selene thought out loud.

"Sure is..." James said looking awfully puzzled.

A dark grey owl landed in front of Selene handing her the daily profit. She took the paper from the owl and read out loud so James could hear.

Attack on muggle-born family:

All dead except for the one survivor. Daughter of
Carrie and Stephen Clearwater.

Cause: unknown

Selene looked up from reading and saw many others looking around and whispering to one another.

"It is bloody unfair." Selene said in a whisper shaking her head.

James nodded "People need to learn that blood purity doesn't matter."

"And to say the cause is unknown, we all know who did it." Though the ministry had not said what was causing all the mystery deaths. That didn't stop the whispers you would hear about it.

The rest of the day everyone was quiet, Not saying much. At dinner, there was no laughing or smiles.

Everyone going straight to bed.
