Prologue
Writer's POV
"Stop the fight!" The referee yells!
Medics crowd the scene an they rush to the fighter's side, checking his breathing and supporting his head and checking his eyes to look for signs of a concussion.
"Can you hear me?! I need you to keep your eyes open for me!" One of the medics yells above the noise.
The fighter is vaguely aware of the fact that he's on his back.
He... lost?
That can't be right.
He has never lost a match.
He has either drawn or won.
No in between.
So what is this?
Why are they screaming to finish the fight?
Suddenly reminded, he looks down.
Is that his leg?
Why is it twisted like that?
He panics and tried to sit up.
A medic pulls him back forcing him to lay back down.
His panic intensifies.
"What's happening? What's going on?!" He screams.
"The patient is panicking! Sedate him. We need him to calm down before we can make any further decisions." A medic says, yelling over the noise of the arena.
Before the fighter can say another word, he feels his senses slow down.
He looks at the crowd, but he can hardly hear them.
All of their faces are blurry.
He can't tell what they're saying or doing anymore.
He looks for his opponent.
He's gone.
Is this the end of fighting?
It can't be.
He won't let it.
It's impossible.
The last thing he sees is his trainer looking down at him, saying something he can't make out.
Then darkness.
