I look down at the tracks. I know Callum's footprints anywhere. It just doesn't make sense. Why would he leave so suddenly? Wait... oh no... it was Aaravos. The orb. His prison. Callum's hurting badly.
I sit down. I messed up. I run my fingers over my face. I shouldn't have left. I didn't want to leave. What was I thinking? I'm such a bad girlfriend, if I even am that. Oh Callum... what are you doing?
"Seems like you should know by now." A voice says.
I jump. I take out my swords. I turn. Nothing. I look around. I see a white snake in the trees. It was quite a big snake. It looks at me with kind of a shiny sheen of yellow in its eyes. I look around for a person or elf.
"I don't suppose you talked." I look at it.
"Would it offend you if I said yes?" It asks.
I jump and almost fall down.
"What? You did ask." It says.
"I know." I say.
"So... why did you jump?" It asks.
"Well... I suppose it's because I've never seen a snake talk." I say.
"You've seen dragons talk." It says.
"True. I suppose a talking snake wouldn't be such a big deal." I say.
"Hm. Fair enough." It says.
"You were saying-" I gesture.
"Ah yes. It was your own fault. You left." It says.
"I didn't mean to!" I yell.
"You did. I can clearly smell it off you." It says.
I look down.
"I see it clearly." It says.
I turn. I wipe my face to avoid crying.
"So what should I do?" I ask.
"Nothing." It says.
"That's not what I-" I turn.
I jump. The snake's gone. Was that just in my head?
