Backstories
*Frisk's POV*
When G told me his story, I felt weak, and hopeless.
"I can see why he wants you then..." He started, his eyes still wide at the news of my soul color.
Instead of having to demand an explanation, I listened to G as he told me his story anyway.
"A long time ago," He began, "Asriel and I were friends. Best friends, in fact. He was someone I could always trust, someone I could rely on. Even after the monsters were released, we continued to be friends. Me living my life, alone in this damp hole. While he spent his days in a palace with his royal parents, and his servants from all around. Yup... we were the greatest of friends."
Being polite, I didn't protest, and I listened to his story, watching his face soften at the memories he must've been having.
"That is... until we grew up," His smile fell as he said the words, "Things got... complicated. Hard. We didn't see each other months at a time... very, very long months....
"When I turned 16, I visited him in his room. He was hunched over a desk, staring at papers and scattered ink while he wrote and worked. Now, keep in mind that for those six years, humans and monsters seemed to be growing more and more apart. Monsters aren't allowed in some human areas, or facilities. And vis-versa. The humans threatened the King, Asgore, that they would lock them back under that dreaded mountain again. Asgore couldn't have this...
"So..." G shut his eyes and laid back, taking in a puff of mainstream smoke then letting it out slowly, filling me with suspense, "He and the royal family came up with a plan... a... well, sickly plan..."
He sighed and leaned forward.
I shivered and felt as if he was judging me with his eyes closed, and I shuffled slightly, uncomfortable with the thought that he could be reading my mind.
Who knew what that magic could do?
Realizing he wasn't going to continue, I eagerly asked, "What's the plan...?"
He was silent for a very, very long time.
*G's POV*
...
(P.S THIS IS THE ONLY TIME I'M DOING THIS JUST SO YA KNOW)
I remembered that day so well, it seemed like it still played before me, like the sick tragedy it was.
Asriel had his head shoved into his work, his eyes unblinking from the focus and concentration. Even if these two seemed like the same thing, focus is where you maintain thought. Concentration is for one thing, and one thing only.
The Prince's concentration was on the writing, the pens ink running low from so much writing, and the papers scattered under a bright lamp light.
"Heya Azzy," I said in my plain humor, trying to lighten up the tense mood which was easy to see, "Whatcha working on there?"
Asriel didn't even flinch at my presence, and he said in his smooth voice, "Nothing of your concern, I'm sure of it G."
A small smirk crossed my lips as I walked over to him, ready to annoy him in any friendly way possible.
Yet when I saw his hunched shoulders, his tense back, and his hand scribbling away at the writing, I had to place aside our humor into more serious matters.
"How would I know if it's my concern or not, if ya wont tell me?" I said, still in an attempt to lighten the mood.
The attempt didn't work, and Asriel stopped his writing.
He sighed again, and stood up, a smile suddenly plastered across his white face.
"Do you really wish to know?" He sounded almost excited, which sounded quite interesting with his smooth, eerie voice.
I nodded once, smiling a bit as he stopped his focus to finally speak to me.
"The Peace Plan," He said plainly.
"Peace Plan?"
"Yes. A plan my father and I came up with. My mother agrees and she already started with it!"
"Azzy just tell me what it is!" I shouted, a bit annoyed and confused at why he hadn't told me before.
He noticed my annoyance, and he smirked. A little trick I taught him myself, actually.
"Well, you see G..." He walked around the room with his hands behind his back, his cap gliding against the floor gently, "Are you aware of the rule between humans and monsters, the rule of court ship?"
"Well aware, actually. Monsters and humans can't marry. Can't reproduce together either," I explained quickly, interested in what he had to say.
I watched him carefully, noticing something I had never seen in him before.
Eagerness.
Want.
The need for something, he knew he could get through hard work which he was bound to do.
"Well... We are going to change that..."
The words didn't seem to click in my brain as fast as they entered, and I stared at his sickly smirk, wondering what he could possibly mean.
After he noticed my confusion, he continued, "Though they can't do that rule, it's only because higher power hasn't been in place! There needs to be power with both human and monster. Both working together, in a system of power. They have to be powerful. Or else, no one would listen to them..."
My mind began to piece together the puzzle, and before I could shout, Asriel continued on.
"Me. I am the highest power in the monster's eyes, the Prince. Besides my father, who is already married..." His eyes narrowed and his smirk widened, the eagerness twisting his voice into a hungry creature, "Now all we need is a human... a powerful human, with a powerful soul... when the souls merge to create the chil-"
"ENOUGH!" I shouted, to sick and shocked to believe what I was hearing.
Asriel stared at me, with a different, disappointing shock.
So, it was my turn to continue.
"You can not force that upon any human being! This can't be forced by power Asriel..."
"It can be forced my power!"
"But it shouldn't! It shouldn't be brought by terror, peace should be brought by the love, the real love that the world needs, that we all need!"
Both of our voices rose with each word, trying to out sound the other.
"You aren't understanding G!" He shouted in anger, "We could be so powerful! So incredible! If the humans could just see, then they to would join us! And if not-"
"Asriel do you hear yourself?! You are trying to force love between humans and monsters! Trying to force peace! That isn't peace Asriel! That isn't love! It needs to happen naturally!"
Asriel marched up to me, fury curling his snout into a snarl like a wolf more then a goat.
"When do you expect this to happen naturally G? It wont happen naturally! We have to force it!"
My voice came out so powerful, so angry, so... frightened, I almost scared myself when I yelled, "YOU CAN'T FORCE SOMETHING THAT MUST BLOOM INTO BEAUTY!"
Silence was all that could be heard.
Angry breathing entered the mix, and we stared at each other for a very long time.
Asriel's face softened into it's blank, emotionless, Prince look. He moved his hands behind him again, and narrowed his eyes at me.
"... Why did I expect you to act this way..." His voice was back to normal, which angered me even more.
He called for the guards, and my eyes widened with the shock of my best friend calling the guards on me.
"Asriel, don't, you can't!" I tried, struggling to get my words into his head while the guards entered.
"I knew you would act this way..." He continued, ignoring every word that came from my mouth.
"Stop this Asriel! You can stop this! You can still be the future, be the better future Asriel!" The guards grabbed me, and anger flourished within me, daring me to fight back.
"... You still have a choice to come with me G..." He looked at me with sharp blue eyes, the guards fighting my slight struggles.
My answer was simple, and the word seemed to cut fabric.
"Never."
Asriel snapped and the guards carried me off in my anger.
"YOU WILL REGRET IT ASRIEL!!!" I screamed, knowing that I would be taken to jail as if I committed a terrible crime.
My best friend began to shut the door of his room, his hood over his head and his eyes low.
I continued to scream at him, "YOU WILL REGRET IT!!! YOU KNOW YOU WILL!!!"
The door shut and I yelled with fury at the Prince.
Yelled in fury at my best friend.
He was afraid of me, which is why he sent me to prison, why he made sure I didn't escape.
He made sure I was never seen again.
Made sure I could never spoil his perfect little Peace Plan.
I lived the rest of my years not giving a shit about the world, ignoring everything that came my way.
He had found a red soul.
He had found Frisk...
How could I just ignore that...?
Taking a deep breath, I looked at her, my eyes as emotionless as I could make them.
Then, I began my story.
