Trees creaking in the distance, A raging fire charged through the forest. Fire left scorched land and fallen burning trees. Smoke rose and swelled, Thunder roared, it's roar echoed. Two figures dashed and dodged raging storm and flames. The wind grew strong, leaves and sticks swirled in the wind.

Cave and Hope fled rapidly, Hope clamped her teeth on three scruffs of her kits. The fire chased behind the fleeing cats, " Quick! Hope, This way!" Cave quickly mewed at his mate. Hope gave small nod and pursed her mate.

They came across a gorge, luckily a log had fallen and formed a bridge. " We can cross here!!" Cave yelped as he clambered over, He grabbed his three kits, Echo, Rock and Snowy. Hope crossed until log broke and her paw was swallowed and gotten stuck, She glanced at Cave with fear, her eyes round and glowing. " Hope!" He shouted by time he scurried to her, the log broke into two and fell, bringing Hope with it. " Noooo!!!" Cave yowled in sorrow as he watched his mate plummet down to her death.

Rain started to fall, the flames wore out, hissing at rain. But the sky still dark and air cold, Cave had stayed in den, he quickly fixed up. He tucked his kits close with his tail and slept. He listen to rain drumming and thunder roaring. Rest in peace, Hope... I love you and promise to keep our kits safe. He thought to himself.

Suddenly a dark figure appeared, Cave snarled at the intruder. " Hey, I don't want trouble, just a place to stay for while" It was a cat who spoke. Cave stilled bared his teeth but hid them and nodded. " I am Cave, These are my kits and my mate.... passed on from this world." Cave mewed, flatten his ears against his head. " I pity you, My name Rose . I am on my way to Camp Of Rogues, A place where a stray cats can go to stay and leave." Rose meowed. Rose vanished but in few heartbeats, He came back with a small mouse. " Here eat some with me" Rose purred.

Cave nodded and took few bites and then took another bite and spat it out, nudged it to the kits. " Urrgh! Gross!" Rose mewed in disgust. " Do you want my kits to choke??" Cave hissed, narrowed his eyes at Rose.  The three kits gulped meat and then fell asleep again. " I-i am coming with you to place where rogues live, for my kits." Cave muttered and let his head drop to sleep.

AN: Sorry for it being short, IF I can I will make it longer but the chapter hopefully will be long! So a sad day for Cave:3 allegiances soon!!! This will also be published on WA aka Warrior cat Animo!!  💦💦
