Infinity II Count the Ways
Counter nestled under a pink blanket, cradling the hot cup in his wires.
He sat across from a black bear with a broken eye, who stared at him like she was inspecting a bug.
A wiry mess of a white and bronze bear curled up in his lap, peacefully sleeping.
"Uhm..." Counter set her mug of hot chocolate down. "Hi?"
The bear frowned, wrinkling her nose.
"What are the five values of the Titan?" Samalyn called from the kitchen.
"Blood, mud, bones, uh, rot, and, uh..." Scraps responded.
"Breath!" Followed by a loud exhale and a scream of disgust. "You got most of it wrong!"
"I'll fuck your mom, swear on my father's grave!"
"I'll fuck your mom!" A loud smack, and then crying.
The bear groaned, pinching the bridge of her muzzle. "Why did I let Sammy stay here?"
"Uhm..." Counter looked around nervously, trying to avoid the bear's eyes. "Nice place?"
"Could be a lot better, considering we don't have much time left." She got up from her seat, taking her mug of coffee with her. "Sammy, you better not put Scraptrap in the dishwasher again!"
Which left Counter sitting alone at the table, cradling this strange bear in his lap.
He tapped his fingers on his mug, feeling a little out of place here. What now? What should he do now?
The wire on his hand slithered against the bear's nose, disturbing its sleep. It blinked awake, its yellow eye glowing.
"Hi buddy!" It chirped, enveloping him in its wires.
Counter stifled a scream, freezing up. "H-hi."
"Lefty, come here!" it squealed. "We have a new friend!"
"I know, Molten, I met him already." The bear called from the kitchen. "Scraptrap's stuck in the dishwasher."
"She said he wanted in!" Samalyn protested.
"No I didn't!" Scraps yelled back.
"Your mom is gay!"
"No you!"
"They do this all the time, no worries!" The bear, Molten, smiled, showing off its needle-like teeth. "I'm Molten Freddy, the cuddliest noodle bear in the world!"
More of its wires enveloped Counter in what seemed like a hug.
He cringed, shrinking back. Did this bear not have any sense of personal space?
"Molten, down." Lefty barked, coming back out of the kitchen. "He's still adjusting."
"Sorry, Lefties." Molten whined, slinking off his lap and climbing on her back.
"Molten's very clingy." She explained. "Sammy and Scrap are like brother and, uh..." Lefty thought for a moment, then yelled, "Sammy, what gender is Scrap?"
Silence. Then, "I think she's genderfluid."
"Transfemme!" Scraps snapped.
"Sister." Lefty concluded. "So they're not gonna hurt you unless you mess with one of them."
Pleasant. Counter remembered having cousins that were as close as those two were, how they banded together to destroy him if he even dared to say one nasty thing about them.
This place reminded Counter a little too much of home.
