Act V Dark Side of the Moon
"We're here."
Lefty blinked, her eyes adjusting to the lack of light.
The endless expanse of space stretched out above them, starless and terrifying. Below them was frigid rock, still and waiting for the night to swallow them whole.
"What is this place?" Molten gasped.
"Yeah, where did you take us?" Scraptrap hissed.
"The dark side of the moon, of course." He replied. "I'm Sammy, by the way. It's awfully nice to meet you, Mr. Great Value Easter Bunny."
"You son of a-" Lefty shot him a glare, to which Scraptrap backed down.
"May I remind you all we need to work together?" Lefty spat.
"Absolutely! Now our goal is to defeat the Nightmare Kingdom." Molten grinned. They thought for a moment, then asked, "But how?"
"Well," Sammy replied, "what we need to do is take out the Emperor himself, but he's insanely powerful. What we need is to use our strongest attacks on him at once." Without warning, he yanked on Scraptrap's hand. "So we're going THIS WAY!"
"Like hell I'll follow you!" Scraptrap argued, tugging back.
"You're hurting me!" Sammy pulled, hard, on their hands, knocking the old rabbit over.
Molten whimpered, curling all their wires in.
"Both of you!" Lefty snapped, stepping protectively in front of Molten. "I've told you time and time again, get along. If this Nightmare Kingdom doesn't kill you, I will."
"Please don't." Molten pleaded, wrapping some of their wires around Lefty's leg. "I really missed Rei."
"This fucker started it." Sammy shot a glare at the rotting corpse.
"I sure as hell did not!"
"Molten..." Lefty said, glancing down at the bear. "Molten, who's Rei?"
"You don't remember?" Molten rested their head on her ankle. "We were best friends, Makoto."
There that name was again, Makoto. Truthfully, Lefty didn't remember any of these lovely names Molten was dredging up. But they felt so familiar. Deja vu, it was called. Maybe it fit, once upon a time. But not now.
"Maybe we were," she smiled, picking the wiry bear up. "Alright, you clowns, let's go."
"Excuuuuuuse you!" Sammy spat. "I may be a clown, but at least I'm the ringmaster!"
"Some ringmaster you are." Scraptrap grumbled.
"Look, bud, they have something in common." She nudged Molten, pointing at the bickering pair. "They despise me."
"That's not a good thing." They lifted their head up, nervously looking around. "Shouldn't we be transformed?"
That's right. She had been so busy with the others she had forgotten she was on the moon! "Jupiter power, make up!"
"Mercury power, make up!"
Instead of wanting to be let down like Jupiter had expected, Mercury nestled further in her arms.
"Jupiter, you do realize that these things are going to be stronger than on Earth." Sammy struggled for his pen, fighting to keep Scraptrap from stabbing him at the same time. "Hold your ugly horses, I'm getting yours too!"
"Why did you take mine?" Scraptrap protested.
"Quit your bitching, I'll hold yours for you." He retrieved both pens from his pocket, holding them up. Scraptrap reached up on his tippy toes, touching the red pen with his shiv. "Mars power, make up!"
"Venus power, make up!"
Jupiter didn't have to wait long for the two to finish. "If they're stronger, will our attacks not work?"
"Our normal attacks." Venus corrected. "We've got two attacks; element based and planet based. Venus Love-Me Chain is based on metal, but Venus Love and Beauty Shock is based on the planet itself. My Love and Beauty Shock is much more powerful, so don't worry" he winked at Mars, "I won't kill you with it."
For once, Mars didn't argue. "I've used a planet-based attack before," he admitted quietly. "I was trying to save myself back then."
"You're telling me I could have used a planet-based attack instead of dragging Mercury in this mess?" Jupiter narrowed her eyes.
"Then we wouldn't have Mercury." Venus replied coolly.
"I wanna be involved!" Mercury said. "You guys are my friends, and I'll do what it takes to fight for you!"
"Charming." Mars rolled his eyes.
If Jupiter had her way, he wouldn't have those damn eyes for much longer.
Venus twitched, punching Mars's arm and pointing above Jupiter's head. The eyes of the mask widened in horror.
"What the..." Mars breathed.
A low growl, just behind Jupiter. She turned around, breath catching in her throat.
A hoard of monsters lay in wait for them.
