Just because you survive The Hunger Games doesn't mean you're free from The Capitol's control. That's something that Luella- Anne Finley quickly learned as she still does everything in her power to survive while under the watchful eye of President Snow. Born and bred for The Hunger Games like other children in District 2, Luella has been property of The Capital since the age of 16 and has watched as children she has mentored are slaughtered in the arena. Freedom was what she was promised when she won, her death is what the people that claimed to love her now desire as she is once again thrown in the arena.

Author's Note: Recently rewatched/ reread The Hunger Games and couldn't help myself from being inspired. So here we are because I just immediately started to write. Also wanted to add that anyone who knows my writing knows that I only write slow burns, and this is no exception. This will be a very slow burn even for my standards. Please keep in mind that this is Luella's story more than it being heavily romance centric. This is also tied to my other Hunger Games book that is set during a Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The order that they are read doesn't really matter though things that happened in the other book will be mentioned here.
