~Chapter 12~

The bus drove through a set of gates into a facility that was heavily guarded by both strigoi and armed humans. When it rolled to a stop the strigoi occupying the bus yanked up the humans they had collected including Dutch. They forced them off the bus and into a sorting line. Pulling them in different directions depending on the department they were to be taken to. When Dutch was finally brought to the front of the line a strigoi sniffed her and began to act crazy. Screeching and banging on her chest. Dutch was quickly pulled away.

They dragged her into a large room with water spouts mounted to the walls. They forced Dutch to strip and then forced her into a shower. She was given a rag to wash with. She bit back the tears as she stood there exposed for the men to see. When she finished they inspected her before allowing her to put on the new clothes that were provided to her. A set of guards then led her into a room that was a key card access. One of the guards un-cuffed her and said , "welcome to your new home", as he shoved her in and left. Dutch scanned the room all she saw was a women, some were even pregnant. She then noticed a large glass room that overlooked everything where a dark haired man sat at an office desk scanning through papers.

Dutch did not want to draw attention to herself so she quickly found a spot off to the side. She knew if she was to get out of here she would need to be patient and play their games until she had a solid escape plan. About an hour passed before a woman dressed in doctor attire approached her, "you follow me." Dutch did as she was told. When they entered a room set up like a doctors office the woman spoke again, "climb on up, I'm sure you'd like to know what you're doing here", Dutch refused to answer, "well this facility is ran my the Partnership. Here our goal is to help provide a better life to both humans and strigoi. And in order for that to happen we all need to play our part. This is yours."

Dutch furrowed her brow, "my what? You think I want to live in perfect harmony with those things?!"

"I know it seems odd, they are unusual to us and most fear that. And yes your part as a B blood type is to help create more. Blood donations are what keep them full and keep us alive. So in this facility we create life, more specifically B blood types. Please tell me when's the last time you had a pap done?"

"Excuse me?" Dutch knew she just needed to play their game, but listening to this woman was making her blood boil over. Keep it together...just until you can escape! Dutch pulled herself together and did as she was told without question.

Gus searched day and night now for Lianna and Dutch. He ran on very little sleep, weeks passed and he found no sign of either one. He knew their trails had run cold but he refused to give up hope. He traded and bartered for information regarding the buses and finally got some information that would do him good. He now knew the location of the facility that Dutch was at. The only problem was that the facility was heavily guarded throughout the day. And next to impossible to break into. Gus heard that it was much easier to sneak out of then to get into. He knew Dutch was smart and held hope that she would either find her own way out and if she did not that when the others returned they would go in after her. He had no idea when they would return but what he did know was that it could not be soon enough.

Lianna awoke in darkness weakened from the round the clock torture she endured. She had no idea how much time had passed she only knew that she wanted it to end. As she stood there strung up by her arms she thought of Quinlan. She wondered if he had returned and learned of her absence. She hoped that he would come for her, she could not take anymore. The only thing that had kept her holding on this long was faith in his love for her. She was not sure if he truly did love her but she knew if she told herself he did not she would fade away....that Eichorst would have what he wanted.

The lights were turned on and again she was left in a blinded state waiting for her eyes to adjust. When her vision became clear it was not Eichorst that stood before her but the Master. "My child do you wish for this pain to stop?" Lianna refused to answer, "you can end all of this my child, all you must do is help me kill the born. That's it and I will let you go." Lianna looked up, her eyes were like daggers she would never help him. The Master grinned with hatred in his eyes, "I see Eichorst has yet to extinguish that fire within you. Please tell me my child why have you not given up hope?"

Lianna looked at him, "love." The Master looked at her but said nothing, "love is more powerful than you will ever know, his image gives me hope and for that I will never give up. I will hold on until the end of my days. I will never let you win."

Although the Master's voice was calm Lianna knew this filled him with anger. "Invictus? You truly believe he is capable of love, if you do you are a fool." He paused, she knew he was only trying to plant a seed that would cause her to lose faith. "I have taken ones he has come to care for but I believe taking you will bring me the most joy. We shall test this love that you believe he holds in his heart for you." The Master turned and left, the door slamming behind him, and the room returned to darkness.

Lianna hung her head, "Quintus...I am so sorry...I'm trying to keep myself together...I'm trying to keep faith...but as my body becomes weaker so does my mind."
