LUNA LEFT Jade in the dark, having walked away after Jade stood there silently following the kiss. Slowly, Jade's eyes adjusted to the darkness and she stumbled her way out of the room, trying to find her way around the unknown corridors.

Why was she losing her mind over a kiss on the forehead? She had been kissed before, multiple times, in fact, on the lips, the forehead, the cheeks, almost everywhere. But Luna's kiss set her mind on fire, set her soul ablaze, and she couldn't stop burning. The world was spinning so fast and she couldn't walk straight.

Jade paused in the middle of the corridor, staring up at the big, white candles on the wall. She wasn't alone, a girl about her height stood a few feet away, her bushy hair covering most of her face and her arms wrapped tightly around her books.

"Jade? Is that you?" The girl asked, pushing her hair from her face.

Still in a stupor, Jade stared at her, unable to form a proper answer to the question. She knew it was Hermione, and she knew how to answer the question, but she couldn't make words.

"Did someone stun you?" Hermione came closer, tapping Jade on the shoulder repeatedly.

"N-no, I'm fine." Jade answered quietly, almost too quietly. Hermione paused for a moment, looking her up and down, and nodded.

"If you say so Jade." She smiled at her and turned down the corridor.

Jade sat down, closing her eyes and trying to steady her breathing. She still couldn't figure out why she was so dizzy over such a small gesture. Luna was the only person who had ever made her feel this way. She had felt this way since she met her that rainy day on the Knight Bus, but it had never made her collapse or lose control of her actions.

"I have to ask her out." Jade muttered to herself, opening her eyes and staring up at the ceiling.

Slowly, after minutes of trying, she stood and made her way down the corridor, her feet carrying her up towards the dormitory. The knocker had a new riddle today, she had forgotten, so she couldn't get in as easily as she wanted to.

A crowd of first and second years stood outside of the Common Room door, trying to solve the new riddle.

"What's the question?" Jade asked a lanky blond boy to her right.

"What room can you eat?"

"The riddles were never this easy when I was a first year." She groaned, walking up towards the door. "The answer is a mushroom."

The door swung open, and all of the first and second years dashed into the Common Room, bringing Jade with them. She wiggled her way out of the mob and climbed the stairs to her dorm. It wasn't exactly late, but she didn't want to be around anyone and figured her best bet was to go lay down.

She opened the door to find Lisa laying on her bed, staring up at the ceiling and sighing. Assuming nothing was wrong, Jade pulled her trunk out from under her bed and threw striped bottoms on with a matching striped shirt.

"Going to bed so soon?" Lisa asked, turning her body to the left to face Jade.

"I'm tired."

She climbed into bed and turned her back towards Lisa. She was the last person she wanted to deal with right now, since Lisa had a big mouth and couldn't keep anything secret. Soon enough, sleep came over her, and she was out cold until the next morning.

Jade was the second person to wake up that morning, following behind Mandy, who was reading a book in her bed. Jade didn't say a word, just sat up and looked over at her. Mandy glanced up and smiled, waving her over to the bed. Slowly, she pushed her blanket aside and swung her legs to the floor, picking herself up and carrying herself to the edge of Mandy's bed. They had to stay quiet, so they didn't wake the other girls up, but Mandy was awful at keeping quiet.

"Where'd you and Luna go yesterday?" Mandy inquired, marking her page in the book and setting it aside.

"She took me to this corridor I had no idea even existed," Jade started. "there were a bunch of old classrooms that weren't in use anymore and we sat and talked about Terry. She didn't know why he was lashing out."

"Not many people outside of our friend group and Cedric's friend group knew he and Cedric were so close."

"After I told her everything, including everything about his ex-girlfriend, we talked a bit more and..." Jade trailed off, her face burning as she remembered what happened afterwards.

Mandy seemed to pick up on this and began to squeal.

"Mandy! Shh, we don't want to wake everyone else up."

"Did she kiss you? Oh my god she kissed you!" Mandy exclaimed, clapping her hands together.

"We didn't actually kiss, she just kissed me on the forehead, that's all."

"That's all? Jade, you're losing your mind over this, I can tell. I've known you for how long?"

Jade almost answered, but then she realized it was a rhetorical question. She knew Mandy was going to freak out over this, she liked to do that when anything romantic happened to one of her friends. She drew a lot of attention to herself, but if anyone ever asked and it was meant to be secret, she kept her mouth shut.

"You're moving on up in the world Jade Evers."

"Whatever you say Mandy, whatever you say."

Mandy continued to squeal quietly and freak out over the new developments, but all Jade could think about was how badly she wanted Luna to kiss her again. Preferably on the lips this time around.
