THE COMMON Room was bustling when Jade entered after dinner. It was usually like this on a Friday night, after the first week of classes ended and the first years began to feel more comfortable in the school. Mandy was sprawled out on the blue couch in front of the fire, staring at the star covered ceiling.

"Mandy, what are you doing?" Jade asked, leaning over the back of the couch to stare at her.

"I am having a crisis." She replied, turning on to her side and staring into the fire.

"What kind of crisis?"

"Anthony hasn't picked up on it yet."

Jade sighed. Mandy had loved Anthony since third year when he helped her with the Shrinking Solution in Potions. She had always struggled in that subject, but after she became infatuated with Anthony she "struggled" even more.

"Just tell him!" Jade yelled, throwing her arms up in exasperation.

A few concerned sixth years looked in their direction, so Jade waved at them like nothing was going on.

"Then you have to tell Luna."

"That's not how it works Mandy."

She groaned, tumbling off of the couch and slamming on to the floor. The sixth years looked over again, and Marietta Edgecombe dashed to Mandy's side. She helped her up and sat her back on the couch.

"Are you okay? Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry you fell!" Marietta had a tendency to overreact.

"I'm perfectly okay Marietta." Mandy said, but she wouldn't stop touching her head and looking all over her for bruises.

Cho Chang came over and pulled her away, mouthing a "sorry" to the girls. The two rolled their eyes after they walked away, giggling together.

"Let's go to our room."

They trudged up the stairs, and opened their door to find Padma, Su, and Lisa sitting in a circle with a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans. Lisa picked up a burnt orange colored bean and threw it into her mouth, chewing slowly as she tried to figure out the flavor. Suddenly, her pale face turned beet red and she began to sweat profusely.

"Curry flavored!" She exclaimed, running over to the bin in the corner of the room and spitting it out.

Jade and Mandy sat next to Su, laughing at Lisa's struggle and her attempts to cool down.

"You have to do a dare now." Padma said to her once she sat back down, now slightly less hot than before. "I dare you to play the rest of the game pants-less.

Lisa pulled her plaid sleeping pants off and sat there, shaking her head at the group.

"We're playing a twisted version of truth or dare," Padma explained. "if you get a bad flavor, you have to do a dare. If you get a good flavor, you have to answer a truth. You in?"

Jade and Mandy both nodded, and then Mandy went for a bean. It was blue colored, so Jade assumed it would be something mild like blueberry.

She was wrong, very wrong.

The second Mandy bit down on the bean, she began to cough and a fishy aroma filled the room. Su plugged her nose, cringing away from Mandy, who looked repulsed with herself. She spit the bean out on the floor, gagging, and went to grab the glass of water sitting on her night stand.

"Sardines." She stated, picking up the gross blue bean and throwing it into the bin.

Jade looked at Padma and grinned, an evil little grin that Mandy caught on to quickly.

"No, I am not going to confess my feelings for Anthony."

"It's a dare, Mandy."

"Besides, I-I don't even know where he is right now." She stuttered.

Jade knew she was lying, she had walked by Anthony and Terry when she entered the Common Room, and they were sitting within eyesight of Mandy.

"He's downstairs with Terry and Michael playing chess. Michael is their referee, the matches get very intense sometimes." Lisa said, grinning along with the other girls.

Mandy groaned angrily and stomped down the stairs, the other four following her and watching from the steps. She glanced at them over her shoulder and bit down on her lip, she was trying her hardest to not explode on them. As she approached Anthony, who had just won the game of chess, the girls got more excited.

"We've been waiting for this for three damn years." Jade whispered to the other three.

Anthony stood up and followed Mandy to a more private area, or, as private as they could get in the crowded Common Room. The girls couldn't hear much, but they did hear Mandy say "I like you". Lisa began to squeal, and Su began to quietly clap for the two. Anthony began to blush, and he smiled at Mandy.

She smiled back, and they embraced each other in a hug that felt like it took forever. Jade led Su and Padma down the stairs clapping, while Lisa stayed behind due to being pants-less, and Mandy whipped her head around furiously.

"You guys are lucky this ended well!" She yelled, making her seem angry, but she had a smile on her face.

As they grabbed her and pulled her upstairs to continue the game, Jade watched her blow a kiss to Anthony, who blew one back. They sat in a circle and Jade picked up a bean, a green and yellow colored one, and put it in her mouth. She chewed on it for a few minutes, not recognizing the taste at first, and then it hit. She was eating a vomit flavored jelly bean.

She tried to hide the disgust by smiling and continuing to chew it, but Padma caught on. Jade stood, and then she made for the bin, spitting all of the remnants into the can and nearly vomiting herself. The smell was so pungent, just like the sardine bean, that the other girls began to hack and cough.

"I can get my revenge now." Mandy laughed, standing up and walking towards Jade.

"No way Mandy, I am not going to find Luna and tell her my feelings." Jade said, putting her hands up in defense.

"Too late Jade, it's a truth or dare game."

"Can I chicken out?"

"No."

"Let me at least have a mint flavored bean."

She picked up a white bean that had a green undertone and popped it into her mouth. Sure enough, it was mint. She slowly walked down the stairs, her hands shaking more with each step she took. This wasn't how she planned on asking Luna out, though the idea she originally had planned was far too elaborate and romantic.

Jade pulled out her wand at the bottom of the staircase and looked out into the sea of Ravenclaws.

"Orchideous." She muttered, producing a bouquet of tulips. Red tulips, specifically.

It wasn't hard to find Luna, she was relaxing in a chair by the fireplace, petting Orla Quirke's tabby cat. Orla sat nearby, playing Exploding Snap with Felicity Eastchurch and Grant Page. Jade tried to hide the flowers behind her back, knowing that Luna could probably see them, but it was a good effort nonetheless.

"Hi Luna, could we go somewhere together?" She stammered. Jade could feel her hands trembling and her foot began tapping on the stone floor.

"Sure thing Jade." She said whimsically, and gently set the cat on the ground. It ran off to find a new person to pet it, which, based on the scream from the corner, happened to be Anthony.

The two stepped outside the Common Room, sitting on the steps a few flights down. It was getting late, about nine o'clock when Jade last looked, and the moon was shining through a window behind Luna. It made her platinum blonde hair shine, it made her look even more angelic than she already was. Jade could barely speak, all she wanted to do in that moment was stare at the living, breathing angel in front of her and get lost in her gray eyes.

Luna pulled her turquoise sweater sleeves down farther on her arms, shivering. It was quite cold in the stairwell, especially after being surrounded by all those people, so Jade finally decided to talk.

"I have something I've wanted to tell you for a long time, Luna."

"I know, Jade, and I've had something I've wanted to tell you for a long time."

Jade's eyes widened and she nearly dropped the flowers, making Luna laugh. Her lips formed a dainty smile, and all Jade wanted in that moment was to kiss her.

That would be too forward though.

"I really like you Luna."

All the other girl did was smile, and grab the flowers from behind Jade's back. Everyone said she was oblivious, said she was an airhead. She was far from it.

"I really like you too."
