We got to the vacation venue at 8:57 P.M. "Kabiyosi Suites" was boldly hanging on the black gate of the suites, and also tiled at the top of the building. Side talks began as we all began to talk to one another, or rather murmur about the place. "Oh my gawd! Did our stingy school really pay for this?" I asked the girls as our bus drove closer and closer to the building, giving us a clear view.

Esse chuckled. "I actually heard that, they call schools."

Her words made Amarachi and me look at her in a funny way, as Amarachi replied, "You heard?"

Esse smiled. "What? Can you stop giving me that look?" She chuckled, referring to how Amamrachi had her hand on her chest as she bent backwards, like she was trying to get a better look at Esse.

My smile grew wider as Amarachi shook her head. "I can't believe my ears biko," she said with a smile as she sat back normally.

"But seriously though, from..." I was cut off mid-sentence by Mr. Demeji's clearing of throat.

"Make sure you do not drag the school's name into and through the mud," he said in an audible and authoritative way. "Anyone who does, would face a lot of penalties." He paused and looked around for a while, making quick eye contacts with some of us. "It is not a threat, it is a warning." With that, he stepped out of the way, letting the students who were trying to pass the front door go out, while the rare door opened.

The girls and I passed the rare door, as we waited by the bus to grab our luggage. "This way please," a lady in a short turquoise gown and a white apron around her waist said.

We all looked at her with a confused expression as she smiled and said, "Your luggage would be handled. All students are to converge in the hall for the welcome meeting." With that, she began to walk into the building, causing us to follow her.

For the first time in a very long time – I think since primary 5, when I had gone to Tasha's House, my primary school bestie, my jaw dropped. I couldn't shut it for a couple of minutes after we stepped into the suites. It was like in the movies. The entire place was golden. It had a chandelier hanging in the middle, a stairs towards the right side of the suites, which led upstairs. It then had doors here and there, leading to different places. Everything was premium and top notch. It was so surreal, I couldn't let myself believe it. My heart was filled with an unexplainable joy that left a wide smile on my face. She led us to the middle door, which when she opened for us to enter was filled with students, a little bit of noise and murmuring. There were about six schools already seated in the hall when we arrived, making it seven schools in general. We were allocated a spot, as we all sat down and tried to catch on, on what the person on the podium was saying. The hall was also golden, the podium was in the middle, as the schools were seated around it. The chairs were so comfy, and cover with original black leather, having golden arms. I almost had orgasm from barely sitting on them. The place was driving me in sane. Ugh.

"Let's welcome 'Rare Gems High School'," the young looking guy on the podium said, stretching his right hand to where we were seating. Most students were already looking at us, so they simply put their hands together for us. I couldn't help smiling, as my eyes ran through the hall. I had a wide smile on my face as my eyes roamed the hall, when my eyes unconsciously jammed another. He smiled a bit, displaying his neatly arranged clean teeth and perfect smile. He winked, after holding my gaze for a while, making my forehead wrinkle as I shook my head and looked away with a smile.

"He's the son of the king who owns this place," a monotonic voice said behind me, causing myself, Amarachi and Esse to turn back. I frowned a bit, when I saw it was Tosin – a science class student who hardly spoke and mostly said only straight forwarded and mean things when she did. She nodded. "He's a prince, and is what most girls call charming. I also heard no one has been able to beat him in the annual challenges conducted during these their 'Annual Students Vacation', since he was mature enough to attend."

"Who is she talking about?" Amarachi, who had probably not seen when I had jammed eyes with him asked, making me nod a bit to his direction. While, Tosin had gone quiet again and was paying attention to what the guy on the podium was saying. "He's cute'" Amarachi whispered in my ears, making me smile.

"I don't care," I whispered back, making her smile also.

"Hmm."

Esse smiled, as she had been watching our drama.

I shook my head and tried to listen to what the guy on the podium was saying, but couldn't help stealing small glances at the 'Prince'. He was alright. Really dark, really cute, and he looked tall from how he was on the chair. He had a glass skin, I almost cried in pimpled face. I couldn't help smiling to myself as I kept on stealing glances and looking away.

"That would be all for the welcome meeting," the guy on the podium voice finally said aloud, finally having my attention. "The meeting is dismissed." With that, he got down from the podium.

I didn't hear what the guy said at all, but simply followed the crowd, walking with Amarachi and Esse. "I hope, I get someone from our school as my roommate," Amarachi said with a smiled.

I didn't really know what she was talking about, but I commented anyways. "I know right? Me too."

"I want someone I don't know," Esse added with a shrug.

Amarachi scoffed. "Nah you sabi."

I smiled.

We joined the long queue that had formed from the top floor, almost reaching the hall. I later figured out from all the talks that it was the room we were allocated to, that we were checking and what Amarachi had been talking about.

After minutes of talking and waiting, it finally got to our turns. I was allocated room 306 B. Amarachi was allocated room 402 A. Esse, room 202 A. We waved each other bye as we separated and went to search for our rooms. I couldn't stop looking around like a tourist as I made my way to my room. The building was rather long, than tall. So, I had to enter the lift by 100. There was a lift after every 100th room. I enter the lift, which was almost crowded, and pressed the 300 button.

I couldn't help opening my mouth when I walked into my room. The room was super spacious and neat. I wanted to seat and lie on the sparking white tiles. The room was really chilled, I couldn't help running my palm up and down my arms, trying to warm myself up. There were beds at both end of the room, small bedside tables or lampstand bedside the bed, and the cupboard not far from the bed. I smiled to myself as I walked towards the bed that had my luggage close to it. It was the bed close to the wall, while the other was close to the window. The bed had 'B' carved on it. It was neatly laid with everything white. I sat down on it, with a little bit of force, smiling to myself as it bounced me back up. I could feel I was going to like it there already. I fell on the bed with my back and was about to curl up, when there was a gentle knock on my bed, and the door was gently opened. I quickly sat up to see who it was. I was slightly surprised to see it was Tosin. She had no expression on her face.

"Is this your room?" she asked in a calm monotonic voice, as she began to make her way towards the bed by the window.

I nodded as I replied. "Yes, you?"

She simply nodded, then stood for a while by her bed before she asked, "Do you want the window bed?"

"Yes!" I replied slightly too excited. I was a serious fan of window locations. I really liked simply staring into the emptiness at times, at times catching glimpse of fun and interesting things. She nodded as she pulled her trolley behind her, making her way to the wardrobe closer to bed 'B'. I smiled to myself as I stood up and did same.

We both arranged our wardrobes in silence. The wardrobe was made with solid mahogany wood, that smelt of sweet freshness within. It was wide, and could contain two people cloth, so I had lot of space left. Tosin simply went to have her bath. After she was done, she went straight to bed without a word.

I spoke to the girls for a while on a video call on WhatsApp. They made me realize there was Wi-Fi, and they also gave me the password. It was apparently one of the things spoken about during the welcome meeting I paid zero attention to. After talking to them for a while, I also went to have my bath too. Not being able to sleep without music, I played Fireboy's 'Laughter, Tears & Goosebumps' on my audiomack, closing my eyes as began to create scenes in my head.
