"you too, bye bye." after sofia hung up alice quickly stood up on her bed and began jumping up and down out of joy. she just landed a starring role in sofia coppala's next movie

they will be meeting for dinner in a couple days as alice is going out to new york and los angeles for billie's listening party for her upcoming third studio album: hit me hard and soft. after that, she is immediately heading to the cannes film festival. she is a surprise cast member in the movie: kinds of kindness

she is only in the movie for five minutes along with her girl hunter schafer but she is just happy to be in a yorgos lanthimos movie. plus they both are onboard to star in his next film that he is currently writing

she continued with packing for her upcoming destinations while happily dancing to one of billie's unreleased songs

CANNES FILM FESTIVAL

alice and emma stone were gradually dancing her heart out to brand new bitch by COBRAH as they were getting ready for a photo. all the cast members looked over at the two women and smiled gradually with willem dafoe and yorgos lanthimos looking at them with admiration

they couldn't believe they got to stand amongst such an amazing cast especially with these two women. they began to get serious and got ready to pose. alice noticed willem looking at her with a smile which caused her to crack a smile

"do i look silly?" she asked with a laugh

willem smiled even brighter, "not at all, you are a star alice." he said wrapping his arm around her waist as everybody did the same. she smiled as they both looked forward at the same time and smiled for the cameras

after their pictures hong, hunter and margaret walked over to the girls. all five women walked hand in hand over to the screening where 'kinds of kindness' would be showing.

"i'm starting to think i should have worn blue!!" emma said looking at hunter and alice. all women laughed

"great way to make us feel left out." margaret sarcastically said with laughter

emma playfully rolled her eyes, "yeah i feel like a black sheep right now." she huffed playfully

"it was not planned. we really didn't find out we were both wearing blue dresses until this morning when i went to her room." hunter swore

"you guys look like cinderella princesses. i mean seriously." hong complimented with grace

they smiled at her, "thank you!!"

"you guys look gorgeous as well." alice added on

as emma was about to speak, she decided to turn around considering she heard the paparazzi calling out a familiar name. her furrowed red brows instantly dropped amongst seeing who was posing. hunter and margaret decided to turn around too

"oh c'mon!!" margaret said with frustration. alice turned around and suddenly...

the excitement for this entire day suddenly went away. she felt nothing in that moment as barry posed peace signs. the flashes were ridiculous, anytime he made a sudden movement they'd immediately take his picture

barry then started walking with his team up the red silk stairs looking around hoping his eyes would find her.. when they did. he stopped dead in his tracks. he flashed a small smile which sickened all the cast

mamodou lent a hand out to alice who was still looking at barry who seemed to making his way up to the cast. "let's go alice." emma whispered in her ear

alice turned around with her eyes meeting with mamodou's. "i got you." he smiled kindly. she happily took him hand as he escorted inside the building. the rest of the women gave barry a glance as he still made his way over to them despite the clear tension

everyone was calling out to alice trying to ask questions but joe, yorgos, jesse, willem, and mamodou protected her getting her inside without her having to say a word. barry stood in front of all the women who were giving him death glares but they played it off considering how many cameras were on them. but even a flying bird could feel the tension

"hello ladies. you all look amazing." barry said with happiness greeting them all with hugs and kisses on their cheek. they all said thank you even though they wanted to cuss him out. he knew exactly what he was doing being here for the screening

after thanking them, they headed inside to their seats. yorgos was sandwiched in between emma and alice who looked deflated. emma leaned over to say, "alice don't let him ruin this day for you."

yorgos nodded, "exactly. you have worked so hard plus you love this festival. enjoy it. you deserve too after everything." he said

"life is too short to be worried about a butt wipe like him." emma said in seriousness but yorgos and alice snickered at her wording

alice nodded, "you're right. i'm happy to—-"

"you look absolutely gorgeous." she heard that thick irish accent. alice turned around to see barry standing behind her seat with EVERYONE looking at them waiting to see what her next move would be. she knew to play it cool and not seem like a bitter ex.

alice stood up properly. barry immediately went for a hug with alice hugging him back. she whispered in his ear, "why the fuck are you here?" she made sure to say quietly

barry chuckle as his hands caressed her bare skin, "couldn't miss a chance to support you and yorgos." he said

when they broke away, yorgos was standing up. barry shook hands with yorgos who had a tight grip. he wanted to break barry's hand but kept it simple and sweet. he clearly was not feeling him.

"maybe you should head to your seat now." emma said nicely with a fake smile

barry smiled, "this is my seat darlin'."

all their smiles dropped as barry sat down. alice looked at emma with a frown. she and yorgos sat back down. "they knew exactly what they were doing sitting him behind you." yorgos whispered with irritation

they sat him right beside all the men who starred in the movie. they all gave barry death glares not even giving him a chance to speak.

luckily the movie started soon after that. it was a three hour rollercoaster. the movie got a fifteen minute standing ovation with everyone clapping loud for alice and hunter's role that will surely be remembered. the impact the two ladies had in the movie was felt

barry was clapping loudly watching as alice stayed humble as ever while blowing kisses in every direction to all who clapped. her sense of humanity and kindness was felt throughout the room. the entire cast was lost in the moment admiring the young actress.

it was safe to say, kinds of kindness had a good day at the festival and will be one of the top contenders before the festival even ends. after the press seating and a million questions, everyone dispersed.

alice and her social battery were extremely low after answering all of those questions some which sadly had nothing to do with the movie but her team has media trained her extremely well. she knew how to weave her way out of an overbearing question

she just got out of the shower. her damp hair was perfectly brushed out. a white cotton robe latched onto her perfect body. her phone started to ring, it was billie.

she didn't have time to answer it because her door was knocked on. she ran over to it thinking it was emma or hunter but instead it was barry, sadly... she opened the door widely but quickly closed it amongst seeing his face.

alice was now peeking out of the doorway making sure he couldn't see her in her robe. he smiled, "alice c'mon let's not pretend i haven't seen you undressed before." he laughed trying to break the ice but alice didn't find anything about today funny

"barry what was that today? seriously." she asked with disappointment. barry didn't understand

he shrugged, "i don't know what you mean." alice chuckled then turned back into serious mode. she made sure her eyes burned into his.

"you knew exactly what you were doing showing up to yorgos premiere today." she called him out on his shit. barry didn't even have any words to say, because he knew alice was right

she nodded, "exactly." she spat. barry crossed his arms, "i mean c'mon many other people showed up to support—-"

she put her hand up in motion, "barry please stop." she breathed heavily then laughed, "that was embarrassing for you to come up to me and greet me knowing it would bring attention."

"that is not a bad—-"

"you almost took away from our movie. from yorgos and the rest of the cast and crew's hard work. that all could have been swiped away in an instant due to you being there and trying to associate with me. they all deserve to have their day without some commotions and drama." she reminded him

during this conversation, all barry could think about was how alice has not changed. she still had a good heart that just kept getting better with time. the way she sounded protective over yorgos and the cast was attractive to barry. not too many people are like alice and he knew that

"look i'm sorry, okay?" alice rolled her eyes as her phone started to ring again, she looked back to see a picture of billie which concluded it was her calling again

barry kept his eyesight onto her reading her body language. she seemed happy about something. "is that billie?" he asked sounding quite jealous

"none of your business." just as she shut the door, he made sure his foot was in the way which took her by surprise. alice clenched her jaw growing irritated with her ex

"what do you want?!" she asked raising her voice. barry ignored her tone, "so you and billie have slept together?" barry asked with dryness

she shrugged which made him angry but he kept his composure, "don't act shy about it. the whole world knows now that billie revealed it."

alice chuckled, "i'm not acting shy about anything. why ask a question you already know the answer too?" she retorted

"did this happen when we were together?" barry asked making alice slam the door but he quickly pushed his way into her suite shutting the door locking it

she scoffed just wanting him to go away already. the longer he stayed the more irritated alice got, "no this didn't happen when we were together, now get the hell out."

"not until you talk to me."

alice groaned, "that is what i'm doing right now!" she stormed off into the walk in closet with barry standing in the doorway

"why'd you sleep with her? to try to get over me quicker?" barry asked sounding sincere

alice didn't even look at him while she continued choosing out random clothes to wear for the rest of the day. "please don't flatter yourself." she laughed hardly

"then tell me why you did it? this doesn't seem like you alice." he sounded worried. never once out of there whole relationship has alice every implied she is attracted to women. for her to be sexual with billie, it was completely out of the ordinary

"my sex life along with my sexual orientation genuinely should just not concern you. worry about your life, barry. now get out." alice said with harshness

"i still love you." barry cried out but alice wasn't even really processing what he was saying. everything coming out of his mouth was a lie at this point to her

"you don't love anyone." alice stated with her clothes gripped into her hand. she aggressively moved past him back into the bedroom throwing the clothes onto the bed

"i do love you." barry repeated, alice was refusing to look at him. barry sighed as she fastly was moving around the suite. her fast paced seemed like she was trying to keep herself busy, almost pretending as if barry wasn't there which hurt

"can you look at me alice?" barry asked softly, without even thinking alice quickly grabbed an empty glass cup throwing it towards him screaming out in pure full rage. barry ducked hearing the glass hit against the wooden floor shattering everywhere

he stood fully looking at alice with shock and fear. "you. do. not. love. me." she worded slowly looking at him by this point

she slapped her hands against her thighs frustratingly, "you don't cheat on someone you love. you don't betray someone you love. you don't let somebody that you LOVE get jumped."

barry stayed absolutely mute, "you don't love me barry. stop saying it. i just want you away from me. go live your life but just keep away from me. being around you makes me sick." alice shuddered feeling like she was about to throw up. breathing the same air as this man just made her want to vomit and scream

"alice don't say things you don't mean." alice broke out into laughter, "i mean it. you are a man child. you need to grow up and you need to seek therapy. you just... you make me want to scream." she admitted with a deep sigh

barry began to walk over to her, she sharply pointed at him, "don't come near me barry." she warned but he walked over to her regardless

alice then pushed him away with such force. she wasn't about to cry in front of this man nor was she about to let the same man who cheated on her comfort her during this dark time. whatever tear that was about to fall immediately reversed. she mentally took a deep breath.

"please get away from me, go. don't bother me ever again." alice finalized. barry slipped his hands into his pockets letting it remain silent for awhile

he spoke, "my room is right next to yours if you want to talk." he said quietly. barry quickly walked over to her planting a soft kiss onto her forehead then immediately exiting the room. as soon as he shut her door... alice started to silently cry. all of this was too much for her

a few hours went by with barry knocking onto her door again. he wanted to check on her after earlier, alice has never showed anger like that before. he began to grow even more worried about her

when the door opened barry fixed his mouth to talk but got tongue twisted amongst seeing the great emma stone who continued sipping onto her cup of tea. "what do you want barry?" she asked in a dry tone

"i just wanted to check on alice." he answered. emma nodded, "won't be able to do that."

"why not?" he asked with confusion. "because this is my room now." she answered simply

as soon as barry left, alice asked for a room change all the way on the other side of the five star hotel. barry mentally cursed. "fuckin' hell." he mumbled

emma stared at him with ease, "barry i don't know what exactly you are trying to latch onto... but let alice go. she wants no parts of you anymore and you don't deserve her." emma simply let him know

"i love her. i just want to be there for her." emma quickly stopped him and his pity speech, "please stop it. you don't love alice. you just want to have her around in your pocket. you want to see what she is doing in life and who her next partner will be. you and sabrina made your beds, lie in them. you don't deserve any parts of alice and this new journey she is on."

"emma look—-"

"you are starting to feel guilty about what you did to alice. so now you want to wiggle your way back into her life and try your best to be friends with her. sorry to bear you the bad news, but that won't happen. you are a chump who needs to grow up. there is no reason for you a thirty-one year old man to be acting like a bachelor."

"what room is she in—-"

"this one." emma said give him a face full of the door making sure to lock it in the process. barry yelled out in anger throwing a punch to the wall
