i was currently walking down a ton of concrete steps followed by a trail of black roses. i don't know what barry has up his sleeve for today. i woke up to him not being next to me.

a note was placed on the dresser that said his driver would be taking me to belhaven beach which is an hour away from his place. now hear i am.

it's a foggy yet beautiful day. my feet met with the sand. i began looking around noticing nobody was here on the beach but me. it was a little chilly out making me immediately regret not grabbing a jacket.

goosebumps began to form on my arms. i started rubbing my arms trying to get warm while continuing to follow the trail. i quickly squinted then smiled upon seeing barry.

i scoffed out of shockness. there he was standing in front of me with a rose in his mouth while holding up a huge sign with black led lights. i began walking faster to face up close

i laughed, "you did this for me?" i asked happily. he smiled despite still having the rose in his mouth. i couldn't help but to chuckle before taking it.

i then quickly read the sign which said, "sarai la mia ragazza?" my smile grew even bigger as i looked up at him.

"yes." i stated before getting on my tippy toes to kiss him. his lips felt like electricity against mines. i felt happy knowing that we are now officially dating

three days later

"that is so cute that he is learning italian just for you." meadow cooed before taking a sip of her iced matcha tea.

i blushed and nodded. she quickly swallowed her drink before speaking again, "so did he have anything planned after that?"

"he did. we had a picnic on the beach. and then it rained so we took the opportunity to dance in the rain." i admitted

meadow quickly clinched her heart and smiled. she grabbed my hands, "i'm so happy for you guys."

"thank you meadow. i'm glad someone is." i playfully scoffed, she frowned

she quickly furrowed her eyebrows, "what do you mean?" i sighed before letting her know

"my other friends aren't happy about this relationship. same goes for my agent and team."

meadow shrugged, "why aren't they happy for you?" she asked sincerely. i could tell she was ready to defend me

she quickly laughed, "let me guess...."

"the age gap." we both said at the exact same time which caused us both to burst out into laughter.

meadow quickly rubbed her face frustratingly then scoffed, "if you weren't as mature as you are for your age i would definitely not agree with the age gap but you literally have a maturer mindset than most girls your age."

i just looked at her carefully listening and examining the words she was saying. "it's no big deal. they should be happy for you. plus you guys have gotten to know each other for months before he asked you to be his girlfriend." she assured me

i started fiddling, "yeah..." i nervously spoke up, "they also don't like the fact that i'm dating him knowing he has a child."

meadow almost spit her drink out. she quickly adjusted getting herself together. "he has a child?!!" she asked

i nodded, "a little boy." meadow sighed, "alice this is a step up from your last boyfriend. how do you feel about it?"

i shrugged, "i accept that he has a child. i have no problem with it." i answered honestly

some people probably wouldn't believe it but i had no idea who barry was until after we started talking and that is only due to him telling me. i have never cared about him being a famous actor.

i see him as a normal human being with a job like anyone else. i like him for who he is. he was very surprised when i told him i don't know him.

i'm not too fond of keeping up with celebrities. it just doesn't seem healthy to keep up with them. it can't be.

plus me being from italy, i don't know much about famous actors other than italian ones such as monica belluci, sophia loren, and marcello mastroianni.

i know of some of the a-list in hollywood and a few in british. growing up, i mainly watched italian movies and tv shows. i have most recently gotten into american and british movies and tv shows thanks to barry. and irish ones of course

"have you met his son?" i quickly shook my head no, "barry wants me him and the mother of their child, alyson to have a dinner together ." i explained

"that will be... interesting?" meadow said in a questioning tone making me scratch my head.

"yeah it will considering she probably doesn't like me." meadow frowned placing her palm onto her cheek, "why wouldn't she like you?"

i breathed heavily, "it seems as soon as the news broke about barry and i dating, she served him with papers for child support."

meadow raised her eyebrows, "you're kidding me right now." i shrugged, "i wish i were."

barry was absolutely livid when he got served. he takes good care of his son. him and alyson had an agreement that they will both handle expenses and maintenance for their son without bringing to courts into it.

plus she currently has full custody of their son. she has been making his life a living hell ever since finding out about me. i never knew someone could change something so vastly in three days.

she has refused to let barry see his son which has angered him more than ever. he is fighting hard to get joint custody. she said even after they broke up that due to his acting career, she'll just keep him full time.

barry regrets coming to that agreement with her but it was best due to how much he has to travel for filming along with press and ceremonies . plus he will be super busy next year which means limited time with his baby boy which breaks his heart

hopefully he can get joint custody because he deserves it. i can tell that he loves that little boy with everything in him and that he is a good father.

"that is so messed up. i hate that for him i really do. are you going to go to the court hearings with him?"

"no. he wants to keep me out of it. plus i don't want to give her any reasons to tell the judge why he shouldn't have joint custody of their son."

"smart girl." i chuckled, "i try to be."

"so this dinner... when is it supposed to be?"

"in a few days." meadow nodded, "what are you going to wear?"

"something casual." meadow laugh, "no ma'am."
i gave her a stare.

"you need to make a statement. that you are going to be in their lives whether she likes you or not." she stated

"this isn't a game meadow." i reminded her

"but it clearly is to her and you're going to have to play."
