CHAPTER THIRTEEN

CHAPTER THIRTEEN.

Training had gotten easier and easier to deal with the more days passed and it was drawing to the end of the week now. Elly had been thinking about the driver since her conversation with Anakin in the medcentre. She didn't know his room code, Obi-Wan did. So, she needed him to get into his room and the closer the week got to ending, the harder it was going to be to get the driver back without Anakin walking in.

Elly knew that Anakin's medical check-ups took at least an hour which gave them an hour window from when he left to get the driver from his room. Elly had been thinking about it all week and she just needed to ask Obi-Wan. She could have asked Ahsoka for the room code but she had a feeling that Ahsoka was in on it. So, Obi-Wan was her only choice.

As their training session came to a close, Elly decided that it was now or never. She was lying on the mats in the centre of the room. A cantina by her side and her chest rising and falling rapidly. She hadn't started a cooldown yet but she didn't really have the energy for it. She was so exhausted and yet solely focused.

"I need your help," Elly turned her face to look up at Obi-Wan. He was sat on the bench. His chest still rising and falling heavily with a cantina in one hand. The training lightsabers that they had used were discarded on the bench beside him. His fringe clung to his forehead and even in that sweaty, unflattering state, she still thought he was gorgeous.

And he certainly heard that thought. She watched as his face morphed until she turned her face away again.

"I need to get that driver back." Elly hoped that her words would serve as some sort of explanation. Obi-Wan furrowed his eyebrows before he realised what she was talking about.

"Why haven't you spoken to him about it?" He asked curiously. He knew that Anakin was stubborn and unrelenting but he would give it to her eventually. Obi-Wan had long learnt how to wear Anakin down until he gave in. Maybe Elly needed to learn that lesson too.

"He wants to blackmail me, Obi-Wan. I refuse to be blackmailed." It was a matter of pride for Elly at this point. She knew that people saw her as weak and she was out of practice as a Jedi. She would not let this make everything worse.

Obi-Wan chuckled softly at her words, "I would hardly call it blackmail." Elly turned her face to him again, the unimpressed look spreading.

"This is Anakin we're speaking about. It is blackmail," Elly responded. Her words were firm and they both knew Anakin's nature. He was a little rude, stubborn and absolutely would blackmail a superior for what he wanted. It was just how he was.

"Just speak to him," Obi-Wan said before he took a swig of water from the cantina. Elly frowned.

"I did try. It didn't work." Elly lifted her hands up, rubbing her face with her hands.

"So what do you need my help for exactly?" He asked. He stood up now and offered a hand out to Elly. She reluctantly took it and he helped her to her feet.

"I need his room code," She explained as she brushed herself down. They then began to do cooldown stretches. They both needed it.

"That is a massive invasion of pri-" Obi-Wan began but Elly was quick to cut him off. An unimpressed look on her face.

"You let me in before." There was a little tilt to her head that made Obi-Wan huff out. She was right but it didn't make him like it anymore.

"When are you planning this heist?" He asked. That meant that he was going to help. Obi-Wan never asked out of curiosity. A grin appeared on her lips as she stretched her arms above her head, feeling the familiar pleasant burn.

"He has a medical check-up every day, he's gone for an hour. We go in when he goes for his check-up. Get out before he even knows we were there." Elly already had it all planned out. She'd been thinking about it all week.

"And what if he finishes early?" Obi-Wan asked. Elly dropped her hands to her side.

"He doesn't. It's always at least an hour. They make him wait for blood work every single time," Elly retorted. There was a nonchalance to her tone, a little shrug at the end of her words. Obi-Wan couldn't help the smile that appeared on his face.

"How do you know this?" Elly grabbed the training lightsabers from the bench and discarded them back in place before she swivelled around to face him.

"I went with him once." It was as simple as that. Check-ups like that always followed a routine and Anakin hadn't deviated from it the entire time.

"You are certainly efficient," Obi-Wan said. He was almost teasing her and she couldn't help but smile back at him.

"I'm one of the best Jedi for a reason." There was only a hint of arrogance as she dropped herself back down on the bench. She grabbed the cantina from the side and took another drink.

"Why not ask Ahsoka for her help?" Obi-Wan asked curiously as he took a seat next to her. Elly chuckled and shook her head.

"They already know you helped me the first time and Ahsoka would tell him." Obi-Wan nodded in response. His whole body then seemed to grow rigid and Elly's eyebrows pulled together.

"You told them?" He asked. Elly scoffed and shook her head. It would have been stupid of her to tell them. They both knew what had happened and when Elly projected the thought to him, he seemed to understand. A soft "Ah" escaped his lips. Force signatures were a good thing at times but when you are trying to be sneaky, they're a nightmare.

"He obviously knew," Elly retorted. Obi-Wan hummed in response. He took a swig of water before he leant back against the wall. His eyes fell closed for a moment.

"We should have been more careful," He muttered. Elly shrugged and pulled a knee up to her chest.

"It's not a crime to stand in a closet with me. He's suspected much worse." There was a hint of teasing to her tone but she knew that Obi-Wan would not find it amusing. After his less-than-ideal reaction earlier that week, Elly was trying to avoid implying anything. But Obi-Wan didn't seem to take it badly.

"We were not just in a c-" Obi-Wan cut himself off and instead said, "You're right." If he had finished his sentence, he would have shown his hand. He couldn't do that. He couldn't admit that he had wanted to kiss her in that closet. It was a dangerous precedent to set. To admit to something like that would be catastrophic.

"So, will you help me?" Elly asked, a smile appearing on her face. Obi-Wan nodded. Her face broke out into a grin and just seeing her happy made it all worth it for Obi-Wa, "Thank you." There was genuine joy in her tone and he would do anything to hear that again. He smiled a little wider and nodded.

After Anakin had gone to the med-centre, Elly made her way with Obi-Wan to his room. They had both been watching Anakin as he went through his day. He had been training with Ahsoka for a few hours before he disappeared to the centre. Which meant they had their time to strike and so, the pair of Jedi Masters walked to his room.

Obi-Wan seemed almost hesitant before he put in the room code, placing his morals to one side for a moment. Elly grinned and stepped through the door. She looked around the room. It was cleaner than last time. Some of the droid parts seemed to have been put to one side and when she pointed it out to Obi-Wan, he didn't seem all that surprised. Elly knew that she had to ask Anakin about that. There was a look on Obi-Wan's face that suggested it was more than Anakin just deciding to do a clean-up.

But she couldn't focus on that. Instead, Elly went straight to the drawers. She searched through them for the driver but when she found nothing. She rounded on the boxes of parts. He must have put them in there and she knew it would take a little while to rifle through.

Though the driver had a distinct look which should make it easy to see. She could tell Obi-Wan was getting antsy. He had been hovering by the door as she rifled through piles and piles of parts. It would be impossible to find.

After a good few minutes of searching, Obi-Wan gave in. He had a suspicion on where Anakin had hid it so went straight for the bedside table. He opened the top drawer - where he always used to hide anything he didn't want Obi-Wan to see - and there it was. The driver sat among other junk that he didn't want anybody to see.

"Is this it?" Obi-Wan asked, circling around to face the blonde. Elly lifted her head and her face lit up at the appearance of the driver.

"Where was it?" Elly asked as she practically bounced over. Obi-Wan placed it in her hand and she tucked it away safely in her cloak as Obi-Wan gestured to the drawer.

"He always thought he could hide things from me in here. Like my lightsaber or glasses or holocrons that he didn't want to study anymore," Obi-Wan explained. Elly chuckled and nodded her head. She had forgotten that Obi-Wan wore glasses. It had been so long since she had studied with him that it had completely slipped her mind.

"And now it was his downfall," Elly smirked. And Obi-Wan nodded but before she could celebrate anymore, she felt a presence. At first, she thought it was Anakin but she quickly realised it was Ahsoka. Ahsoka was standing in the doorway.

Her hands were crossed over her chest as she looked between the two Jedi Masters, clearly unimpressed by it all. Elly glanced at Obi-Wan and then back to Ahsoka, the grin dropping from her face.

"What are you doing in Master Skywalker's room?" Ahsoka asked. Elly narrowed her eyes. Ahsoka had never been so formal about it. Obi-Wan didn't say anything, leaving Elly to explain.

"I was taking back the driver Anakin took from me," Elly responded. Ahsoka then pouted and the blonde shook her head lightly. She knew that Ahsoka would be in on it. Anakin wouldn't ask for her to train Ahsoka if the Togruta girl hadn't asked for it. She huffed out, "You put him up to this?" Elly asked. Ahsoka shrugged. "Ahsoka." Elly's tone was now almost scolding.

"You refused to train me even once! What did you expect me to do?" Ahsoka responded, suddenly defensive. Elly was completely baffled by the situation but somehow not surprised by it at all. Ahsoka was crafty, she should have seen it.

"If you agree to keep this," Elly gestured to her and Obi-Wan in the room, "a secret, then I'll train you as many times as you want. How's that?" Elly asked. Ahsoka mulled over it for a moment before she nodded. A smile on her face.

"If you don't keep your promise, I'll tell Anakin," Ahsoka responded. Elly nodded. That was exactly what she would expect from her. But for now, they were safe and Elly fully intended to help Ahsoka with her training. She felt stable enough to do it so there was no reason not to.

The trio then promptly left Anakin's room, Elly returning to the Meditation Gardens to put the driver back into the droids. She could finally stop with all her work in the Gardens and the droids could hopefully fully takeover when she was sent away. She liked doing Gardening by hand but it was tiring and her schedule was getting fuller and fuller by the day. It was for the better. She knew that even if it made her a little sad.
