"There they come!" Eliza exclaims getting all excited. I look over to see them coming to the house. Eliza takes of running into Alexander's arms then says something I can't hear. Then I see Lafayette and instantly break out into a smile. He walks faster towards me giving me a bone crushing hug.

"I've missed you so much." he sighs still hugging me.

"Me too." I say,"Are you okay? Did anything bad happen?"

"I'm the same way I was before." Laf smiles pulling out of the hug.

"Thank God. We have lunch in the dining room if you're hungry." I tell him.

"As long as you'll accompany me." he says.

"Of course." He grabs my hand as we walk to the dining room. I tell him about what I've been doing in the last 7 months. He smiled the whole way to the dining room as did I. Then I remember he said he had a surprise.

"Hey Laf?" I ask as we reach the dining room.

"Yes Y/N?"

"What is that surprise that you mentioned in your letter?"

"It wouldn't be a surprise if I told you what it is." he says and I give him a puppy dog face and he laughs,"In time Y/N." He gives me another hug then we sit down as the others join us. We eat mainly in the quiet. You can tell that the boys haven't a decent for awhile. We all finished up and decided to go out side to enjoy the fresh air.

"Man I have missed not seeing a red coat no matter where I look." Hercules says.

"You got that right." John adds,"Maybe we'll finally get to sleep peacefully tonight."

"Depends on what those two couples over there are doing." Hercules says looking towards Alex, Eliza, Laf, and me. All of us roll our eyes at John and Hercules.

"I think we should be more worried about Laf and Y/N. I mean Laf has been talking about her non stop since we left." John says.

Lafayette blushes and I laugh at him. He walks over to me.

"Can I um... do you want to go on a walk?" he asks seeming a bit nervous.

"Yeah." I reply and we start walking around the yard. It's silent until he stops. I sit down next to him in the grass.

"Do I get my surprise now?" I ask and he smiles while sighing standing up,"What's going on?"

"Y/N. Being in this war has made me realize that I don't have a lot of time in this world. I may not be here tomorrow. This surprise may well be shocking but I don't want to wait for it. Y/N I uh." Laf pauses nervously,"I want to be with you forever. Will you marry me?"

"Yes. Oh my god a million times yes."

"Really? I thought you would think it was too fast. I'm so happy!" he picks me up out of the grass then kisses me while I laugh.

"I love you." Lafayette says putting me down.

"I've never heard you say that in English before."I laugh,"I love you too."
