"Caitlin..." I stand still as I hear the man I met today come up behind me in my kitchen. 

"Sugar?" I ask. Caitlin! You just invited some strange man into your home and your make him coffee? What if he is a killer! "Yes" he whispers but his voice is laced in pain. That's why, that sound in his voice is the same etched in mine. I turn around nearly jumping out of my skin he is close, close enough that I could feel his breath on me. "Here" I hand him his coffee. I am trapped between the island and him but I'm not scared. "Who are you" I breathe. I take a sigh of relief as Barry takes two steps back.

He smiles at me, a smile for a friend or someone you love not a stranger. "I am from another Earth and I need to get back home and you are the only one who can help me Cait."

I wait for the flinch at his use of Ronnies nickname but it never comes. I sit down my coffee and contemplate his bluntness. "Your saying that you travelled between earths? How did you get here? How do you travel at that speed? The speed that, that would require..." It's impossible. I finish my spoken thoughts.

Barry takes my hand leading me to the couch where I sit with shaky knees and he sits next to me. "On my Earth there was a man named Harrison Wells, he created a particle accelerator that" he takes a breathe looking at me with his hazel eyes. "That wasn't contained. It affected hundreds of people and I was one of them. It gave me speed." Barry smiles not looking at me "it gave me something to fight the evil in the world. Something to save my dad.

"My dad was arrested for my moms murder and with my new speed I could catch her real murderer." Caitlin grabs Barry's hand. "I caught him and it turned out he was Dr. Wells, the man who gave me my speed, the man who made me faster. We caught him, got a confession and freed my dad, but then Zoom came along" Barry's hand that wasn't in mine was clenched in a fist.

"He sent metas, that's what we called people that were affected by the particle accelerator, to kill me. He succeeded in pulling the same trick as Wells and murdering my father before we took him down. Thats why I ran here. To this world, to this timeline. I was so angry. Angry that my dad was taken from me. I felt that I had nothing left so I went back in time and rescued my mom."

He looks at me waiting for me to tell him he is crazy, or scream, or tell him I won't help him. "Barry" I whisper "I am so sorry." I reach across and give him a hug. "Caitlin I ran from the people I love thinking I was running to something better" he hugs me tighter as if holding on to something. "Caitlin I knew your doppelgänger on my Earth." I pull back a little looking in his eyes knowing he has more to say. "She is family. She is one of my best friends, without her the Flash would have died many times. When I left she had just lost Ronnie for the second time." He ducks his head covering his eyes.

"I just lost Ronnie here." I say his name for the first time without flinching. "I know" he looks up at me with tears in his eyes "I have been to several other Earths and it seems that I am always a day to late" I read what he doesn't want to say. Ronnie always dies no matter what, no matter where.
