Part 2 : Storm brewing
Adrien's P.O.V.
Terrified. That word would be an understatement on what I'm feeling right now. Marinette sat beside me while I drove us three to school. Jemima felt the tension and didn't say anything through out the drive. I, on the other hand felt anger, fury, and other feelings radiating of Marinette. I may not be the subject of this, but I do know who.
"How dare he?", Mari said through her teeth.
"I mean just because his daughter had been expel doesn't mean that he can expel the rest of the student body for not protecting his 'princess'. "
I nodded.
"How did the brawl start again Adrien?"
My eyes never left the road." The mayor slapped a student when she said that he was abusing his power. Her boyfriend defended her but the mayor punched him across the face and that's when hell broke loose."
"This is worse than I thought", Jemima said under her breath but I was still able to hear it.
"I-I thought that once he got what he wanted, he'll be satisfied enough and let things lie as it is."
Mari said softly to her, "you are close to him and Chloe, you should know by now that, that will never happen."
I stopped the car.
"This is as far as we can get with a vehicle, the police cut off access here so we have to walk."
Marinette jumped out of the car before I could finish my sentence. Jemima and I followed beside her. Or at least I did. You could literally see the negative emotions coming out of Marinette. I think it was my reading of comics that made my mind wonder that if there were a villain who could magically enslave people just by their negative emotions, Marinette would've been an easy target for once.
We were nearing the school gates when Marinette broke out into a sprint. I looked over to what she saw and ran quickly behind her. A few police tried to stop us but they were quickly bombarded with other people and news reporters about the fight.
Rather than the fight stopping, it was only getting worse. The police were thrown into it and there were 3 ambulances with students and some police bleeding and were taken to the hospital. I knew that when I left, it was bad but this is madness!
BANG
I pushed my way to the place where I heard the gunshot. There, in the middle of the now formed circle was Chloe with a gun in hand and a cop on the ground. Dead.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Marinette! Where is she? I was pushed a few times from people fleeing far away from Chloe as possible. But they could only go as far since the cops had well barricaded and locked the gates. No one was going out. I guess only some of them tried to stop the fight while the others block out people from getting in or out.
I tried to pushed my way through but it was no use. With everyone going at the same place at once, it would be difficult. This was a huge traffic. I stood up in my toes to try and see where Mari was. So far all I see where heads with only a few faces I could recognize.
A hand was placed on my shoulder. At first, I thought it was Marinette. But it was just Jemima.
"Marinette's inside the school. It's less wild there. We have to go!"
I nodded and we rushed to the direction of the school. There she was. But she wasn't alone.
"-.....all your fault!"
"MY FAULT?!" Marinette bellowed.
A few heads turned to see what was happening.
"Chloe Bourgeois!", Jemima yelled.
Chloe's eyes turned to her. Her mouth parted in shock and her eyes showed disbelief and anger.
"You!"
Jemima placed her hands on her hips, "yes, me. What do you think you're doing?!"
Chloe rolled her eyes. "You have no right to lecture me. Daddy was upset when you turned your back against him!"
"I had to let him see what he was doing was wrong!"
"I don't care! I hate you!"
"I don't care! Hate me all you want! But don't take it out on these people!"
Tears were pooling out of Jemima'a eyes. "I left because of your father! Can't you see you're turning into him?!"
"So what?! I don't care! Power gives me control and control is what I can use to rid of you and Mari-"
SLAP
Chloe held her left cheek as she looked down on the floor. Jemima stood in front of her. Her right hand still held up. I looked over to Marinette and her eyes locked to mine. I made my way over to her.
"Was this your plan?"
She shook her head. "I was hoping Jemima could help Chloe see what she was doing was wrong and correct it. But it's all going to waste as Chloe is fighting back."
Jemima lowered her hand. "Chloe, listen to me. I know you. Even if I was away for most part of your life . I know you. So snap out of the world of fantasy you drove yourself into. This isn't right."
Chloe didn't respond.
"Please Chloe. I'm begging you. Don't hurt innocent people. I may not be your mother, but I am still your aunt. I helped your father raise you after your mother died giving birth to you. Please Chloe. Change and change for the better."
