Thanksgiving.
It'd be the first time in twelve years since she came to earth to spend it without Clark.
Moira had been a little upset but she couldn't be going to Metropolis if she wanted to keep her job. Clark understood and said he'd fly for a few minutes to her apartment on thanksgiving night so she wouldn't feel lonely.
It was also the fourteenth thanksgiving - If she didn't count the twelve years spent in the phantom zone inside Fort Rozz - that she was away from her biological brother, Gai.
If she missed something from Krypton, it was her little brother.
And there was nothing that day that could really distract her from her brooding, not even Leslie Willis' radio show, 'Live and wired' where she was speaking bad things about Supergirl, how she despised her.
She could tell the people around her were uncomfortable and most didn't agree with Leslie as she glanced at them, playing with her earphones wire as she listened to the radio show. It was a radio section from CatCo.
Moira shook her head in disgust by the way Leslie critizied everything about the superhero and it wasn't helping her mood at all. She took her earphones out and slammed them on the desk harshly, surprised she didn't punch a whole through the table.
"Woah" James murmured where he was standing at the other side of the art department office "I know the subject about insulting Supergirl is big but I didn't know it affected you that much"
Moira took a deep breath, uncurling her fingers from the... oh, wow surprise! broken earphones.
"It's not that" Moira told him, quickly shoving the remains of her earphones under a photo as James walked closer. "Thanksgiving"
James suddenly understood, sympathetic "Ah. You miss your brother"
Moira nodded slightly. As James was Clark's best friend, when Moira came to the picture and Clark introduced them both, James knew she was 'adopted' by his parents. Moira didn't talk a lot about her familiy but one day she told him and Clark about her little brother her fourth thanksgiving in earth.
"Another thanksgiving I don't know where he is" Moira replied lowly, writing on a piece of paper.
"There are PI's, you know?" Not for the first time, James had offered the same. But Moira knew no matter how many people she hired to find Gai, they'd never find someone who had never been in earth before.
"I correct myself, another thanksgiving my dead brother isn't with me" Moira murmured with a soft sigh.
James sighed guiltily, "I'm sorry. I didn't know that"
"It's okay" Moira reassured, "I just thought if I pretended I didn't know where he was I could forget he was dead"
James placed a hand in her shoulder, squeezing comfortingly. "What about your adoptive family?"
Moira brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, "I can't leave if I want to keep my job" She sighed, "Clark promised to fly by for a few minutes to make me feel better but, I wouldn't want him to leave Martha and Jonathan"
"They're your parents too" James reminded softly, "And they'd be okay for Clark to leave them for a few hours to spend time with their younger child" Moira smiled slightly, shaking her head, "And I didn't mean the Kents. I meant Kara. She's your cousin too. Sure, adoptive but she's still family"
"Oh, no, no" Moira immediately refused, wide eyed. "I don't even know Kara or Alex that well to impose with their mom's visit"
James chuckled, "You're totally nervous"
Moira widened her eyes, shaking her head "What? No. No"
In fact she was. But it wasn't for what he was thinking. She was more nervous about the fact that Alex was a DEO agent. An agency that was after Fort Rozz's escaped prisioners. And what was she? A freaking Fort Rozz escaped prisoner. What if she grew nervous and blurted she was a criminal alien? Alex was going to arrest her right at that moment without waiting for an explanation.
James shook his head, amused "Come on. Kara's your family. Do you really think she hasn't put up already a chair with your name?"
That was what she was afraid of.
"She won't" Moira told him, unsure of herself. What if she did? Oh, Ra. What if she already told her mom about her? "Oh, my God James. You just put that thought in my head and... There's no way you can say no to Kara. Her pouty look makes you do whatever she wants you. She'd look like a kicked puppy if I say no"
James smirked, "I guess you can't tell her no then. I mean, who wants to spend Thanksgiving alone?"
James stood and returned to his side of the office.
Moira looked down, thoughtfully.

Smallville, Kansas
It was her third month on earth after Fort Rozz crashed in the foreign planet and a man named Clark Kent took her in.
Moira was slowly getting used to the new planet's yellow sun and the abilities it gave her but she was nowhere close to actually leave the small farm to society. She couldn't control her strenght yet.
A pair of lead linned glasses sat on her face. Clark's old glasses. It had been a surprise to know Clark was also kryptonian as herself and she had a lot of questions. Questions Clark had no answers too. He still didn't know how this girl had arrived to earth just a day after he had found his cousin Kara. That was a coincidence he had told himself and wanted to know more but the young kryptonian was closed off whenever he asked. Clark knew it was the shock of a new planet and had to be patient if he wanted answers.
He really couldn't leave the girl in an orphanage due to her powers and there was no one else capacitated to take care of a kryptonian. The Danvers were out of the question, he had taken Kara already to them and they had enough with one kryptonian. He didn't know anyone else to help him so he had taken upon himself to help her adjust and live in earth.
Moira was glad that she had someone to understand her powers and the struggles but she still missed Krypton, specially Gai. And that day was a reminder of what she lost.
Earth had a tradition. It was called thanksgiving. It meant to celebrate the harvest and blessing of the year. People said things they were grateful for.
Moira couldn't think of a reason to join the earthling celebration. She was alone in a new world and no one understood what she had done to keep her brother safe. No one understood how she felt.
Her knees were hugged closed to her chest as she sat on the steps of the Kent house facing the golden corn field as a light breeze blew softly her hair back. Her chin was resting atop of her knees and her arms loosely hugged her legs. She still couldn't control her hearing either so she was aware of the nice woman inside the house named Martha, Clark's mom preparing the turkey for the night's dinner and Jonathan, Clark's dad behind the house on the barn doing some last touches on what he was working on before he could join in the preparations.
They both were nice to her and had been acepting once Clark told them about her and did everything possible to make her feel welcome in their home. If anything, that made Moira uncomfortable as it was the first time ever she felt a house this warm and felt safe. It couldn't compare to her house in Krypton. That was cold and unwelcoming house.
Clark was inside with his mother, helping her. It made Moira feel even more lonely. If she hadn't been listening, torturing herself for what she never had, she wouldn't have heard Clark opening the door and joining her, sitting at her side.
"Sure you won't want to join us?" Clark asked softly, glancing at the quiet girl. "I promise being inside helping is even better than being out here, listening"
He gave her a knowing look under his glasses.
"No" Moira murmured, aware the whisper was clear to his ears as if she spoke normally. "I can't. That's for humans. I'm not human"
"Neither am I and look at me" Clark countered softly. "Come on, Moira. I know you want to know more about earth's customs. This is one celebrated every year"
Moira bit her lip; He wasn't wrong on that. She did want to know "I have nothing to say"
"You don't have to" Clark reassured. "This day, no one should be alone. I know this is a different world for you and you were alone before but you're not anymore. You have me, you have the Kent family to be there for you"
"Am I to be grateful for that?" Moira asked curiously.
Clark smiled gently, "You learn quickly, don't you?" Moira looked down with a blush. He chuckled, "You can say that if you're grateful. But no one will pressure you. You're new and no one would blame you if you decide to lock yourself up in your room"
Her room. The Kents had really made it everything possible for her to be comfortable. She didn't deserve their kindness.
Clark stood, patting slowly her shoulder, starting to walk inside.
"Clark?" Moira called timidly. Clark turned to face her at the doorway. Moira glanced at her hands, "Thank you"
Clark smiled, "You're welcome. We'll be inside if you want to join us. Like I said, this day no one should be alone"

Present Day
Moira smiled a little as she remembered her first thanksgiving with Clark and his, their family. She had been hard that day on everyone and yet, they never held a grudge for that. Clark had been right. No one should be alone that day.
So that's why when Kara walked inside the art department office with a nervous, excited smile, walking to Moira's desk she found herself bracing for it.
"You and I, are practically family" Kara began, giving her a grin. "Adoptive cousins technically but family nonetheless"
"Your point Kara" Moira edged her on, raising her eyebrows.
Kara grabbed a chair and sat in front of her desk, leaning her elbows on it, smiling "My point is, you, Alex, Eliza, my adoptive mom and Winn for thanksgiving"
"Winn?" Moira repeated, raising her eyebrows.
"Friendsgiving" Kara told her. "He was going to spend it alone. No one-"
"Should be alone in this day" Moira finished for Kara softly. Kara looked surprised. "Clark used to say that to me for five thanksgiving in a row since I first came here to earth"
"Well..." Kara gave her a hopeful smile, practically daring her to say no "Eliza knows about you and she wants to meet you"
Moira blinked, "Really?"
Kara nodded, "Yeah. And so does Alex"
"Kara, Alex works for the DEO" Moira told her, nervously.
Kara shrugged, "So? I didn't tell her. And if it happens, I won't let anything happen to you. I promise"
Moira sighed, smiling slightly "You won't leave until I say yes, right?"
Kara smiled, "Nope"
"Fine" Moira gave in.
"Yes!" Kara cheered, standing, surrounding the desk, hugging Moira tightly. Moira groaned slightly, not out of pain for the hug but for being startled. Kara pulled away, wide eyed. "Sorry, I didn't hurt you, did I?"
Moira gave her a playful look, "Honestly Kara, we both have the same strength"
Kara smiled in remembrance "Yeah. You're right. It's weird, though"
Moira nodded slightly, "Yeah"
Kara shook her head smiling, "Okay, then. I'll see you at my place then. Don't be late"
Kara walked away, waving, leaving the art department.
Moira couldn't help but smile, "Not alone, Gai. Not alone"

Leslie had gotten into an accident while reporting the traffic as some sort of punishment from Cat. The weather had been horrible and it distabilized the helicopter she had been reporting from, almost crashing. Supergirl had saved the pilot in time but by trying to save Leslie, lighting had hit them both and somehow the superhero conducted the electricity to Leslie's body leaving her in a coma.
It had been awful and all of Leslie's fans left gifts and flowers just outside of CatCo's that morning that it had been awkward for Moira as she walked inside the building.
The kryptonian tried to ignore everything as she focused on that night's festivities, trying to shake off the nerves.
It wasn't really working but at least she didn't feel like she'd explode of anxiety anymore.
~8~
The atmoshpere that night at Kara's apartment was warm that reminded her of the Kent's familiy nights.
Eliza had been lovely when she arrived, holding a pudding bowl, not wanting to seem rude by showing up empty handed and immediately ushered her to the sisters.
Winn had arrived not too long after and he really wasn't surprised to see Moira there.
Then, the five of them proceded to sit down at the table. Moira found herself sitting in the middle of Winn and Alex.
So far, things were going great as Kara placed the turkey at the table, sitting down oppositte her friend and cousin.
"Kara, your oven's not the best" Eliza told her. "Would you mind giving it a quick five seconds or so?"
Kara nodded, "Hmm"
Kara used her heat vision on the turkey making Winn smile and Moira fidget with her glasses, pushing them up the bridge of her nose, smiling slightly.
"She comes in handy" Winn told them.
Kara smiled, chuckling.
Alex didn't seem to be in the festivities yet, drinking what it seemed to be her third glass of wine.
"I have to admit, the first time she did it I was a little worried" Eliza admitted, chuckling. "What if we were all eating radioactive turkey?"
Eliza, Winn, Moira and Kara chuckled in amusement
Alex didn't laugh, slightly buzzed "It's no worse than the microwave" She downed the rest of the glass. Kara looked awkward, biting her lip. "We'll all live"
Eliza gave her a scolding look, "You're having a lot of fun, Alex. Let's get some food in you"
"Yeah" Moira clasped her hands together, trying to disipate the tension, smiling slightly "Everything looks great"
Winn figured out what she was doing, easily helping her out, giving Eliza a charming smile, " Especially the pie"
Kara gave them grateful looks.
"Oh, yes" Alex piped in slightly sarcastic. Winn, Kara and Moira looked at each other as if knowing this dinner wasn't going in the right direction "That is the best pie in the galaxy" She glanced at Kara "Or so I'm told"
"So, before we eat, I thought it would be nice if we went around and shared what we were grateful for" Kara told them, glancing at Alex meaningfully. Alex stared at her, eyebrow raised "Or any other feelings that we might want to share with family and friends, so let's share" Winn and Moira exchanged silent awkward looks. So there was something the sisters had to deal with. They forced smiles at Kara as if supporting her as Kara looked at Alex but the older sister was being stubborn. Kara smiled, giving them a bright, soft smile "Okay, I'll go first, um... I'm grateful for everyone here. My best friend in the entire world, my sister who's always had my back, my cousin I just recently reunited with and has been very spportive and nice to me and the woman who always treated me like a daughter."
Winn and Moira smiled at Kara.
Eliza smiled softly "Thank you, sweetie"
Kara turned to her sister, pointedly "Alex, do you wanna go next?"
Alex drank from her glass, answering bluntly "Nope"
Kara looked at her friends, "Winn, Moira? Either of you wants to go?"
Moira gestured at Winn, "Please"
Winn gave her a smile, nodding, starting to stand up. "Okay. Well, that's easy"
Kara's phone started ringing.
Winn slowed down his movements as Kara turned her attention to her phone, chuckling in embarrasment "Oh, sorry guys, I'll turn it off" She straed at the phone. Winn's smile slowly fell, straining it as he had a feeling who grabbed her attention that fast "Oh, it's James. Um, sorry, sorry. I'll make it quick"
Moira gave Winn a sympathetic, knowing look.
"Thanksgiving call?" Winn asked, forcing a smile, sitting back down again, looking saddened. "That's nice. That's really very thoughtful"
Moira patted his shoulder.
Eliza and Alex were staring at each other tensely every once in a while before Eliza turned to face Moira, "Kara told me you're her cousin's adoptive sister"
Moira nodded slightly, "Yeah, his family adopted me when I was little after my father and brother died when I was around 13"
Eliza gave her a soft, sympathetic smile. "I'm sorry about your loss but also, I welcome you to our little family for when you need it"
Moira nodded slightly awkward "Thank you"
Noticing she looked uncomfortable, Winn leaned forward to look at Eliza, curiously "So, uh, Eliza, you are a scientist? That's cool"
Both Alex and Moira gave him a grateful look for trying to keep the talk going instead of Eliza looking at them like that.
"A scientist is a general term, dear" Eliza told him "I am a bio-engineer. Alex is in the same field. You know, I guess being a lab rat, it runs in the family-"
Alex couldn't handle anymore, looking at her mother. "There's something I have to tell you"
"Okay" Eliza told her "Is everything all right?"
"When I was at Stanford, I was doing research in genetic engineering" Alex began explaining. Winn and Moira took a sip of their wine, listening. "And my work and connection to Kara, it came under scrutiny. And I was recruited by the government" Eliza's face fell, looking down, starting to shake her head in denial. Alex began speaking a little more fast seeing this, not wanting to see her mother upset "I'm not just a doctor. I'm an operative for an organization called the DEO" Moira grew uncomfortable about the name. The organization sending a shiver down her back as she imagined what they could do to her. Winn also looked awkward but for getting in the middle of the older Danvers women. "We monitor alien life here on Earth. I work in the field with Kara" Kara walked closer, sensing the tension, realizing Alex was actually talking to her mom, surprised and worried at Eliza's negative expression as she stood, unable to look at either girl or the other two in the eyes "I mean, that is my job, Mom, I look out for her"
Winn again tried to cut the tension, pointing to a dish. "I would be happy to carve this, Eliza"
Eliza finally explosed, looking at Alex "Are you out of your mind?"
Alex smiled sarcastically, leaning against her chair "Oh, here we go"
"Who wants green beans?" Winn asked but no one paid attention to him.
"Uh... How could you do this, Alexandra?" Eliza contined, looking disappointed.
Kara looked away, turning to her friends, whispering uncomfortably "She called her 'Alexandra'. This is gonna get ugly"
Looking at the other Danvers women, Moira agreeed silently on that, not even wanting to breath to attract their attention.
"How could I do what?" Alex asked increduluosly, standing up slowly "Devote my entire life to watching over Kara? Well, I don't know, maybe it's because it's what you've told me to do since I was 14 years old"
The other three watched the women discuss as if a tenis game, staying silent.
Eliza narrowed her eyes, accusingly "You lied to me for years"
"Is that what you got from all of that?" Alex asked skeptically. She gestured at Kara "So, Kara risks her life to protect other people, and she is a hero" Kara looked down uncomfortable "And yet, I do the same, and I'm in trouble?" Alex smiled sarcastically "That... is perfect"
"You think your father would be proud of this?" Eliza asked.
"I will never win with you" Alex told her quietly, walking away to the door. leaving.
Eliza walked away, further to the room.
Kara couldn't look at her friends.
Winn tapped Moira's arm, tilting his head. Moira widened slightly her eyes, nodding. Winn turned to Kara quietly "Oh. Yeah, we should go" Kara nodded in understanding, sadly. "Hey, thanks"
"Sorry" Moira murmured.
Kara smiled weakly "That's okay"
Winn and Moira walked away, leaving.
Once outside, they could get rid of the tension.
"That was..." Winn trailed, hesitantly.
"Intense" Moira breathed, rubbing her hands to her forearms. She wasn't cold or anything, just the action was soothing.
"So, are you going home?" Winn asked.
"Yeah" Moira answered. "Clark said he'd pay me a visit"
Winn nodded in understanding, "You should go then. I'll see you tomorrow"
With a small smile, they both parted ways.

Moira entered her apartment, taking off her shoes. She paused, straining her hearing.
After a moment, she flew to the kitchen, pinning the intruder against the fridge.
"Woah, Mo" A small familiar chuckle made her step back, incredulous.
"Clark?" Moira asked, stepping back, turning on the lights.
Clark had been eating some pudding she had left for a midnight snack.
"Missed me?" Clark gave her a small smile, "Happy thanksgiving day"
Moira sighed, walking closer, wrapping her arms around him.
~8~
Clark and moira now sat on her couch, eating her pudding.
"I didn't know you'd be here so early" Moira told him, a small bowl of pudding in her hands.
"I was meant to surprise you" Clark replied, "Clearly, I did" They both glanced at the dent in the frigde. Moira pursed her lips, sheepishly. Clark chuckled, "I'm sorry about that. How did it go with Eliza and Alex?"
Moira fidgeted with her spoon, "Ah, it was awkward" Clark gave her a concerned look "Not for me anyway. Between them. I didn't want to get in the middle"
Clark nodded in understanding "Yeah, I get it" His smile grew "And with Kara? How things are between you two?"
A small smile flickered on her lips, "Surprisingly, nice"
Clark was glad for that. He knew he wasn't making a mistake by having them know each other.
Suddenly, the lights flickered off.
Clark and Moira could still see each other well in the dark but they were still confused about the blackout.
"Electricity problems lately?" Clark asked.
"None" Moira answered, frowning. Her phone beeped. She pulled it out, "That's Kara"
Clark gave a small smile, "You calling each other now?"
Moira didn't see the amusement, "Cat Grant was attacked by Leslie Willis. Wait..."
"Wasn't she in a coma?" Clark frowned.
"Not anymore, apparently" Moira replied, reading the text. "Oh... And she goes by the name of Livewire now because she has powers. Classy"
"That can't be good" Clark remarked though he seemed worried, "Is there anything I can do to help?"
"We love you, dear brother" Moira began, "But this is National City's Supergirl problem to handle. Not Superman's. Kara can handle it"
"Look at you, supporting the family" Clark gave her a small grin. "Question is, when are you gonna join us?"
"Are you insane?" Moira sputtered, "The moment I expose myself as a Kryptonian, I'll end up in a holding cell at the DEO"
Clark frowned, "I wouldn't allow that to happen. Kara wouldn't either"
"Because you know the truth and Kara is too naive" Moira countered. Clark gave her a look. "And she trusts me"
"Trust is not bad, Mo" Clark told her, sighing.
"Maybe" Moira agreed, bitting her lip "But that's because she doesn't really know the reason why I was in Fort Rozz"
"Tell her, then" Clark suggested, shruggging. "Kara has a good heart. She'd understand"
Moira looked down, "Maybe you're right. But not now. Not when she has to worry about her family"
Clark gave her a small, understanding smile. "You can take your time, Mo"
Moira nodded slightly.
At the same time, they both dipped their spoons to their pudding, taking a bite, humming in satisfaction.
~8~
Clark and Moira learned from Cat and Kara's plan to lure Livewire to them to stop her. They had sat at Moira's living room, Clark adamant on not leaving until he was certain his cousin was okay and so they both listened to Cat's broadcast.
That's when Moira really began to admire Ms. Grant. She was strong and determined, not letting someone to step on her and taking responsability of Livewire's actions, sacrificing the offered protection to make things right.
Cat Grant was stronger than what Moira could ever be. She had no power, yet she faced a big threat with her head held high, fearless. It made her think on how a coward she was by not using her own powers to help others, like Ms Grant was doing, risking their safety to save National City.
~8~
"Supergirl saved the day" Moira cheered, high fiving Clark as soon as Kara texted her they had done it.
"That's my cousin" Clark smiled in relief. Moira nudged his shoulder. "I know, I know. You're dying for saying I told you so, aren't you?"
Moira smiled mischeviously "Maybe"
Clark chuckled, passing an arm around her shoulders, "Happy thanksgiving, Moira"
"Happy thanksgiving" Moira repeated, placing her head on his shoulder, smiling softly.

Smallville
Kent Household - Dining room
Night
Clark and his parents were sitting together, there xwas thanksgiving food in the table with wine and candles.
Martha glanced toward the stairs as she served salad in her plate.
Clark followed her gaze, "She's fine. She needs some time"
"I know" Martha replied softly.
Jonathan sighed in understanding, "You're welcome to join us whenever you want to, dear"
Clark wanted to tell his parents to stop pushing. Moira wasn't still comfortable around them or being earth yet. She'd join them and talk to them when she was ready. He opened his mouth to remind them of this when he heard a door upstairs being opened, tilting his head aside, listening intently at hesitant footsteps hitting softly the floor. He held his breath in anticipation as Moira finally decided on taking the stairs. He didn't make it obvious that he was listening but looked up when Moira walked down the last step.
Martha was the first one to notice her, "Moira" Jonathan and Clark followed her gaze toward the awkward looking 14 year old. "Everything okay, darling?"
Moira took a deep breath, slowly walking forward "Um, hi. Yes, uh, everything is okay"
Jonathan cleared his throat and gestured at a chair between him and Clark, "Are you hungry?"
"Dad" Clark told him.
"It's alright, Clark" Martha reassured, "We understand. You could take some to your room if you wish so"
Moira fidgeted with her wavy, chin lenght hair, twirling a strand in her fingers, "I was actually wondering if I..." She looked at Clark nervously and then between his parents "If I could join you?"
Martha, Jonathan and Clark smiled softly.
"You know you can, sweetheart" Martha told her.
Moira slowly walked to Clark and Jonathan, sitting in the chair they assigned her. "Thank you"
Clark gave her a small nod, "I'm glad you joined us"
Jonathan placed a plate in front of her, "This will be your first thanksgiving. No pressure on saying anything"
"Actually" Moira spoke, this time her voice sounded a little more confident. Martha and Clark paused, turning to her. "I heard what you were thankful for. And I know what Clark said about using our powers but, I uh...Can't control that yet"
Clark chuckled, shaking his head "I don't blame you"
"You're not in trouble for that" Jonathan told her. Moira nodded, relieved "You were saying that you heard us?"
"That's what made me come down here" Moira admitted, shyly looking down at her plate, "It made me think. And I realize I do have something to be thankful for"
Clark leaned forward, smiling gently, "You're free to share it with us if you want to but if you don't, we understand"
"I want to say it" Moira told them, glancing at the three of them quietly. Martha nodded at her, encourangingly. Jonathan nodded at her. Moira placed her hands on her lap, starting to smile"I'm thankful for the three of you. Because since I crashed into earth, there has never been someone else to care for me like you do. To help me adapt, to help me understand my powers. To give me the love of a close family. Something I didn't know I was missing. I'm thankful for being included into this family when I know I'm intruding and being difficult. I'm just grateful for what you have done for me"
Martha had tears in her eyes, smiling gently. "Honey. You're not a bother. I always wanted a daughter. And here you are. You're new here and I know everything is new and complicated for you but that's why I'm here, to help you. You're part of this family, okay?"
"She's right, Moira" Jonathan gave her a small smile, "We wouldn't have taken you in if we didn't care for you" He placed a hand in her shoulder that made her chuckle softly. "Happy thanksgiving"
Moira looked at Clark, bitting her lip "I didn't want to be alone anymore"
Clark smiled, "And you're not. Not anymore. Happy Thanksgiving, Moira"
Moira smiled back, looking around the people who took her in. And she was grateful she won't be alone anymore.

Now
CatCo's was open again and work returned back to normalcy.
Winn and Moira were talking animatedly about Supergirl vs Livewire fight when Kara walked closer with some tuppers.
Kara placed the food in front of them, giving some to Winn and some for Moira, "Okay. Turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, sweet potato, and three slices of pie each" She gave them a small, apologetic smile "Payment in full for putting up with my crazy family"
Moira and Winn chuckled, picking up their food. "Thanks"
"I guess, I'll be part soon of that crazy family" Moira joked.
Kara smiled giddily, passing an arm around her shoulders, "Are you kidding? You're already part of it"
"I'm quite grateful for that" Moira told her teasingly.
That made the girls laugh as the three of them began walking across the office
"Speaking of being grateful..." Winn trailed, stammering slightly "I didn't get to tell you what I was thankful for"
"Well, you were in the middle of a war zone" Kara told him.
"My dad's in prison" Winn revealed.
Kara and Moira turned to face him in shock and worry.
"Oh, my God" Moira murmured softly.
"Winn, I'm so sorry" Kara told him softly.
Winn gave them a slight smile "Don't be sorry. He's a pretty bad person and he deserves to be there" Kara and Moira looked at each other momentarily, giving him a sympathetic look. Moira looked down. She understood prision. She was a bad person who deserves to be there too "Uh, anyways, so my family doesn't really do holidays. So, I mean, even with all the nuttiness of yours, I'm just grateful to have been included" He gave Kara a small smile, kissing her cheek "What I'm grateful for is you"
They all smiled, chuckling
"You too" Kara told him softly and slightly awkard, looking toward James and Lucy once they got in sight. "Oh. Hey, guys"
Kara walked away, leaving a slight disappointed but not suprised Winn.
Moira patted his arm, softly nudging his shoulder "You okay?"
Winn smiled, shaking his head, "I'm good" He tilted his head aside, chuckling "You know, I'm also grateful for our newfound friendship"
Moira passed an arm around his shoulders, smiling "I'm gtraeful too for my nerd friend"
"Hey!" Winn exclaimed playfyully, trying not to listen to Kara talking to the couple, grateful for Moira's attempts of trying to distarct him. "I inform you know I'm not a nerd at all"
They began to walk away.
"Oh?" Moira asked, grinning, "Enlight me then. What exactly are you?"
"A smart friend who is good with computers" Winn answered.
"Ha!" Moira exclaimed smiling, "Nerd"
Winn smiled, shaking his head.
Moira chuckled.
That was indeed a good thanksgiving.
