A week later, Moira found herself walking out of the bus at National City Station, walking past a newspaper stand, stopping and buying a newspaper.

"'Supergirl'?" Moira read out loud, eyebrows raised.

"Our own local hero" A woman walking past her smiled.

Moira nodded awkwardly, "Who uh, caused an ecological disaster a few days ago"

The woman looked awkward for a moment, "Uh, she's still learning. And she's making it up"

The woman walked away.

"Hero Superman" Moira mumbled to herself, shaking her head. "She's not one yet"

After settling on her new apartment she had rented, Moira found herself in a coffee shop named Noonan's where suddenly she heard a familiar voice. Moira turned around seeing James Olsen talking over his phone, standing up, walking closer.

"If it isn't Jimmy Olsen in person" Moira told him.

"It's James" James replied immediately, turning around, seeing Moira "And there's one other person besides Clark who keeps calling me Jimmy even if I told them several times no" Moira smiled. James chuckled, "I heard I was going to be seeing you soon in National City too"

"I can't resist doing favors to the one who has saved my life countless of times" Moira admitted. She tilted her head. "And speaking of saving lives. National City has it's own superhero. Do you know her identity as well?"

James looked around, grabbing her arm and leading her to a secluded table "Keep your voice down. What are you doing?"

Moira shrugged innocently, "It's just a curious and innocent question. Anyway, do you know Clark's cousin, Kara?"

James frowned, "I do"

Moira smiled a small smile, "Good. Could you introduce us?" James hesitated. Moira rolled her eyes, "Clark wants us to meet. I'm not gonna do anything to her"

"I'm not worried about her" James replied quickly.

Moira looked at him weirdly for a moment, before realizing in surprise that Clark had never told him about her true origins as a Kryptonian. Her admiration for Clark suddenly grew. "Don't worry about me either. So, where can I meet this Kara girl?"

~8~

To say Moira didn't expect an awkward blonde girl to be Clark's cousin was an understatement. She seemed nervous all the time, perky and overly excited when James told her who Moira was.

"Oh, my God. Clark never really said he had an adoptive sister!" Kara Danvers shook Moira's hand happily. If she were to be a normal human, her arm would have been hurting, which made Kara realize this, frowning in slight confusion when there was no flinch nor expression of pain, sensing the same strength she had from Moira.

Moira smiled slightly, "There was a lot of stuff Clark didn't mention about you. Just last week I was told your name" Her eyes glanced to her hand in Kara, dropping it. Kara withdrew her hand back, awkwardly, smiling. "He thought it was time we got to know each other"

Kara looked at James who was looking between the two girls with a small, tense smile. "Oh, that's great!" She looked back at Tara, apologetically. "Uh, but... I have work right now. I have to deliver this files to Ms Grant, my boss"

Moira waved a hand, "Nah, don't worry. I can entertain myself for a while" She held up her camera. Moira always had her camera hanging around her neck (Who knew when she'll need it?) "And after you finish we can try to accomplish what Clark wants us to do?"

"You're a photographer" Kara told her, looking between James and Moira, "Like James"

Moira fought back a grimace, shrugging slightly.

"We uh, we are focused in different angles" James replied, "Always have"

Moira nodded in agreement.

Kara nodded "Oh, right. Well, I'll just get this to Ms Grant and I'll be there with you, Moira"

Kara smiled, walking away.

Moira watched her go. "She's not really what I expected"

James chuckled, "Let me guess, you were expecting her to be more like Clark"

"Thought they'll be similiar, yes" Moira admitted. "I had this idea of what Kara would be like... She totally destroyed that image"

"Is that good?" James asked.

Moira hummed, "Not sure yet. Gotta wait and see"

Moira turned around, walking away.

After Kara was no longer busy, she and Moira sat in a booth at Noon's, sipping a coffee, looking slightly awkward, neither of them knowing how to start a conversation. So far, what they thought they could have in common and have the conversation started was Clark but out of that, Kara didn't know how to get to know her adoptive cousin.

Moira lowered the mug, sighing "Alright, I've been told I can't really keep things for myself, so I'm just gonna go out with it"

Kara nodded slightly, confused "Okay. Sure..."

Moira licked her lips for a moment, "I don't like your family. Specially your mother. And when I was told you were here in earth too, I wanted to hate you so much"

Kara was startled, eyes slightly wide "M-my mother? She, uh is-"

"Alura Zor-El" Moira told her. "You're Kara Zor-El from Krypton"

Kara stared at Moira shocked.

Moira looked at Kara blankly.

~8~

Kara and Moira were still at Noon's, staring at each other.

Kara shook her head, "I don't know what you're talking about"

"Pretending to be ignorant is stupid, Kara" Moira told her in slight amusement. "And I think I see you're nothing like her. Clark was right, I can't hate you"

"Why would you hate me?" Kara asked, hurt.

Moira sighed, "Your mother sent me to Fort Rozz, Kara"

Kara suddenly realized something, "Wait. You're one of the prisoners who escaped Fort Rozz"

"I had a rough welcoming to earth, okay?" Moira told her, "Clark saved me and gave me a good life. His parents even adopted me so I could have a normal, life. I don't want any trouble, that's why I'm telling you all this"

Kara seemed hesitant but not for what Moira told her but that she knew she had to tell her sister Alex and the Director Hank Henshaw from the DEO about her. But Moira didn't seem like a bad person. 'We may not always know who our enemies are, so we need to be prepared to face anyone' Alex's words from a few days ago came to mind and she felt guilty from thinking Moira could be an enemy. She lived with Clark, her cousin. How bad could she be?

"Thank you for telling me" Kara told her honestly. Kara's phone rang, pulling it out, "Sorry, it's my friend. Could you give me a second?"

"Yeah" Moira told her. "Go ahead"

Kara smiled slightly, standing, putting the phone to her ear. Moira couldn't help the curiosity, wanting to get to know Kara more, brushing a strand of her hair behind her ear, focusing her hearing on Kara's phone call.

"...So, I got you an armed robbery at a pizza place on 5th and Siegel" A man's voice came through Kara's phone.

Kara glanced at Moira, "I'll be there"

Kara hung up, walking closer to Moira.

Moira stood, "I'm going"

Kara stopped, shaking her head, "What? No. I have to do this myself. I'm screwing things up. I need to fix them myself"

"That's the learning process" Moira replied, "I've seen it with Clark whenever a new villain used to appear. You start with small steps. And I know you probably don't believe me when I say I mean no harm, but I'm here to help you, okay? So, let's go"

Kara didn't want to admit it but maybe... Maybe Moira helping her wasn't a really bad idea.

~8~

Dressed up as Supergirl and after a teasing smirk from Moira - who held her camera - they headed to the pizza place being robbed.

"Remember, 'bulletproof' means bullets bounce off of you" The girls heard James' voice as soon as they got to the place "So, if you don't want anyone to get hurt, don't let the bad guys even get a shot off"

Moira nodded in agreement.

"Oh, yeah, and also try not to damage the suit" The man's voice Moira had heard first, Winn spoke up.

Moira chuckled, "He's funny"

Kara gave her a grin of agreement before she flew inside, stepping in front of the criminal, raising her hand, putting it in front of his gun when he aimed it at her, shooting, getting thrown backwards.

Kara smiled. "Next?"

"Ambulance caught in traffic on Donner Avenue carrying a heart attack victim" James informed "They're not gonna make it to National City General in time"

"Oh, and a fully-loaded ambulance is about 9,200 pounds, which would mean that you'd need to use a maximum of 44,498 newtons of force-" Winn rambled.

James interrupted "Kara, what he means is, gently this time"

Moira watched Supergirl rescuing the stuck ambulance, raising her camera, each time she saved someone, the photographer was there to evidence it, selling the photos to the news and newspapers so the hero had her name fixed...Oh, and it also helped for her rent and food.

~8~

"Another super save for Supergirl"

"Looks like National City's hero is starting to live up to her name"

Moira shook hands with the latest reporter she sold her last photo. She turned to Kara, who smiled brightly.

"I'm doing it" Kara told her, passing an arm around her shoulders, "We're doing it!"

Moira smiled. So far, being in the company of the hero the last few hours were good and she wasn't regretting coming to National City... Yet.

"Oh! This one's the Fire Department" Winn spoke, starting to chuckle "Ha! Kara, you're gonna love this one, it's a classic"

Kara and Moira exchanged a look, smiling.

Kara took off her glasses, walking away.

"Kitten up a tree"

~8~

Moira raised her eyebrows seeing te kitten was actually a snake.

"Here you go" Kara told the little girl, looking up to see an amused Moira leaning against an ice cream car, eating a cone "I thought you said it was a cat"

"Who names her snake Fluffy?" Winn retorted in defense.

Kara smiled awkwardly before flying off and away.

~8~

"A dazzling display of heroics by the Girl of Steel now has a grateful National City asking, 'What oil spill?'." The news was at the TV. Kata was watching with a grin "Watch out, Metropolis. Looks like we're about to give you a run for your superhero money!"

Kara laughed in excitement, turning to face James and Winn, walking past them "I can't believe it. It's working" James and Winn looked at her, smiling. Kara turned to face them "People are really starting to believe in her"

James chuckled "In you"

Kara looked at them smiling softly, gratefully "I couldn't have done it without you.... Thank you. Both of you"

"And me!" Kara heard from just outside her apartment. Her grin widened when she realized it was Moira.

Moira knocked on the door.

"Come in" Kara called out.

The door was opened and then Moira entered, holding up a newspaper with a photo of the snake safe, closing the door "This was just printed. I mean, it already came out on the TV but see this baby? I was even given the first copy!"

"Moira!" James exclaimed, surprised.

Winn looked shocked and worried a random girl he didn't know had just entered Kara's apartment with her dressed as Supergirl... Hero 101! Protect your identity!

"Oh!" Moira tried to look surprised to see James and Winn there. "Hi"

Kara raised her eyebrows, realizing that James didn't know about her true origins. "Hey, Moira. You know James. This is my friend Winn. Winn, this is my cousin's adoptive sister, Moira"

Moira waved slightly, "Nice to meet you, Winn. James, always good to see you"

Winn sputtered, looking between the other two who didn't look as shock as he did by her presence. "Am I the only sane one here? You told more people about you?"

Kara smiled apologetically, "Moira is family. Besides she helped me all this time with the public image" Moira raised the newspaper, shaking it slightly. "Whenever she could, she took a picture of my deeds that you guys helped me with and sold them to either reporters to write the article or to the TV"

Moira nodded, smiling "I'm actually a photographer for hiring. That's my oficial tittle. So... Isn't my cousin a great hero now?"

James nodded slightly, smiling.

Winn relaxed, "Oh, well. We can all agree on that"

Moira smiled.

There was another knock on the door.

"God, what, did you order more pizza?" Winn asked "You're a beast"

The Kryptonian hero looked at the door while the other held back te impulse to lower her lead-lined glasses to see through the door like Kara was doing.

Once Kara realized it was her sister, she sighed silently, walking toward the door, ignoring James and Winn's protests to not open it because she was dressed as Supergirl.

Kara opened the door, revealing her sister Alex Danvers outside.

"Can we talk?" Alex asked.

Kara hesitated, looking over her shoulder at her friends.

Alex followed her gaze, giving Kara a 'Seriously?' look.

Kara looked at Alex innocently, determined on not to say anything about Moira. No matter what she did, Moira didn't seem to be a bad person.

~8~

"So James has a deadline to get your boss an interview with you?"

"With Supergirl, not me"

Moira and Kara had met up on the park after the latter had her lunch break. They were sitting on a bench, eating a sandwich.

"Then why you don't do it?" Moira asked. "I mean, it's not that complicated"

"When my boss is an intelligent woman who won't be easily fooled by a pair of glasses, then I'll say it isn't complicated" Kara replied.

Moira grimaced, "Okay. You have a point. Cat Grant is smart"

Kara chuckled, staying silent for a moment. "Thank you for what you're doing for me. I know you said my family put you in jail and you have all the right to hate me-"

Moira held up a hand, "Like I said before. You're not your mom. I mean, there's that resemblance but that's it. You're different and I don't blame you for what she did"

Kara smiled slightly, nodding, looking down "You'd be the first" Moira tilted her head aside, confused. "You're not the first Fort Rozz prisoner I've met. And he told me all of them may hate me"

Moira cringed, "Yeah, when I was in there, there were a few conversations I was able to listen to. None of them portrayed your mom very nicely. I'm sorry"

Kara shook her head, pushing up slightly her glasses. "I get it" She hesitated for a moment, "Moira. Have you heard or been in contact with any other prisoner?"

Moira blinked in surprised "Not since I escaped. Why?"

"They've been acting up" Kara explained. "Coming out from where they were hiding, you know? And they've hurt people"

"How do you know all this?" Moira asked.

Kara sighed, "There's this organization that's been looking for them to bring them back and stop them"

"Bring them back" Moira repeated. "You mean like arresting them again. Have you told them about me?"

Kara shook her head, "No. And I don't think I will" Moira frowned. Kara smiled, grabbing her hand. "You're not like them, are you? You've helped me when you've had the opportunity to kill me. I'm not gonna tell them about you so they can lock you up"

Moira stayed silent for a moment, "You'd really hide me?"

Kara nodded, seriously "Of course! I trust you. He does too if he looked after you all this time and didn't tell James you were Kryptonian too"

Moira smiled slightly, "I asked him not to. I wanted to be normal. Him and his family knowing was enough for me to try. His best friend knowing wouldn't make me feel normal"

"See?" Kara asked, smiling. "You have nothing to fear"

Moira sighed in relief. Kara was indeed different from her mother. She was compassionate and nice and had a good heart.
