Chapter.02

Small Talk.

Ryan sighed deeply as he sat in the chair and listened to the small talk that was going on between almost everyone inside. The sound of cars flying by echoed and gravels spitting into his yard from kids throwing them in the road fro across the street. Their cheerful laughs and conversations made him look down at his empty hands as he thought about his boyfriend inside then remembered the face he was making when he seen Bryce. It held happiness and forgiveness. Something Ryan could never give the blonde..

His broken heart still aches from the day he lost him his lover and best friend. Though he would never give in and let the man know that for it was too much of a bargain.

Ryan pulled himself from the wooden chair and made his way out into the driveway, the sound of gravels groaning under his weight echoed. It was as if they ached by his weight and begged to be freed yet he didn't care. Instead, he twisted his foot with a low mumble. As he gazed up at the sky he felt a sense of disappointment wash over him for not talking to Bryce. It killed him to know the man was marrying someone he didn't want to be with.

When he pulled out his phone from his pocket he checked his draft to see the message he was going to send Bryce before the one he received from him. The one that ended it all. He glared at the words that read, "I love you" his stomach turning with anger and hurt. He pressed the delete button and watched as a warning popped up, right when his finger was about to press the button...

The sound of the door opening caught his attention and caused him to look back to where he seen Bryce. The males long sleeved sweeter was first to catch his attention but then the males blue eyes locked with his, causing a wildlife to spread through his body.

"Hey." Bryce smiled gently, walking out to him. The other one listened as each step caused aching cries from the gravel underneath his weight. "Hey Bryce.." The response was flat and held no emotion, not sadness nor comfort, just tune. "It's been a while. How are you?"

"Why are you here Bryce?"

The question made the blonde fall silent but he didn't care. He wanted an answer and that's exactly what he aimed to get out of him, no matter the cost. Hazel eyes dazed as the blonde sighed deeply, "I'm here for you Ryan." The response made his chest tighten and this sensation run down his spine, he tried to not to look at the blonde in this moment. "Why? I thought you didn't want to see me.." Bryce was now facing him with a look of shock and somewhat pain. "Ryan I want to see you everyday! Do you know how bad my fingers itch to pick up that phone and text you?? You know how many days Jon and I have fought over this whole thing because he knew you'd be here? Ryan, I would never do anything to get away from you..and now I'm here.."

Bryce looked away as he crossed his arms over his chest firmly, gaze digging to the ground as he puffed out his cheeks. "I literally can't stop thinking of you..and it hurts. You came into my life and were the greatest thing I could've gotten but then he found out and now it's all gone. I can't. I just can't." His words trembled as his bottom lip quivered, Ryan knew it wasn't the wind. It was him about to cry. "And I can't just say something in front of him because he's crazy!" The taller male sighed as his fingertips brushed over his shoulder and pulled him into a warm embrace. That was all it took. Ryan held onto the blonde and listened to the silent sobs he released.

The night was silent on response. It was as if the blonde was an Angel asking for respect in his form of distress, his golden locks simmer like the sunrise and his blue eyes deep like the sea. Even in times like this does he dare to cry. Ryan pulled away and gently cupped his cheek, rubbing the soft skin with his thumb. He watched as the man's pale hand grasped his own and a faint smile plastered itself onto his beautiful feature.

Before he could realize his actions they both was leaning forward trying to seal the moment with what they both wanted but the sound of the door creaking open made the blonde tear away from him and Ryan immediately shoved his hands into his pockets. They looked to see Brock standing in the doorframe with a confused look on his face. "Foods ready?"
