Chapter.09
Leveled Out.
Bryce opened the door to his home and seen the dog laying on the couch with his head on one of the pillows. The blonde didn't expect his boyfriend to be home so he didn't even bother to yell something. Even if Jonathan wasn't home he wouldn't do that.
Jonathan and him had a very bad relationship and it was nothing like the movies when it came to them. There was no one grabbing someone from behind as they fixed food, no yelling "I'm home!" And getting a reply, and not even the slightest show of affection.
The first thing he did was go to the kitchen to prepare his boyfriend dinner. It was something he tended to do almost everyday but today it wouldn't be much. He knew Jonathan liked to pig out but he also told his boyfriend he wasn't feeling well at all to which Jon said some things he never said before. It almost made him feel like they'd change.
Almost.
"Did Jon ever hit you?"
"No.."
"Ever done anything to make you afraid?"
"No."
"Bryce..."
Blue eyes stared into the pot of stew as he remembered his friends gaze. He knew he had lied and he shouldn't have but how could you ever tell someone the reason you were so afraid and worried was because your boyfriend slipped up twice and hit you? It was embarrassing to Bryce for even letting him get away with it. Even he was disgusted in himself. But he wouldn't do anything, he loved Jonathan. More than anything in the world.
A sigh escaped his lips as he pulled himself away from the pot and leaned onto the counter behind him. He wasn't feeling right all of a sudden. His heart had dropped and he felt like he had been broken into a million pieces. Tears threatened to leave his eyes as he tried to fight the feeling in his chest.
Bryce had finally accepted the fact that he had been used for the whole years the two had been together. Yet he stayed. Even after all the lies he had even told he still stayed. He knew this man was the only man he was a fool for.
He took a shaky breath as tears fell from his chin and onto the floor, staining the wood for only a moment. Swallowing the lump in his throat felt like swallowing a thing of bees, it stung. Bryce turned his attention back to the food as he gave a sniff and told himself to suck it up.
This was how his day always went. Slow and filled with nothing but sorrow and shame. Honestly he didn't know why his heart still fluttered whenever his partner said something nice or even a dumb joke; it was ridiculous.
The blonde finished up his cooking and froze when he heard the door slam shut, his stomach dropped. Usually his boyfriend was drunk or really angry whenever the front door was slammed and as those stomps neared him his heart twisted. "Baby guess what!" He heard his boyfriend yell from the living room. The sound of bags hitting the floor echoed.
Bryce raised a brow at his boyfriend who founded the corner with a wild grin on his lips. "I got promoted!!" He said happily as he tackled the blonde in a hug because of this he let out a yelp in surprise as his hands fell on his boyfriends shoulders. One he was back on his feet he pulled himself away from Jonathan, "That's great! How'd it happen??" His boyfriend held up a paper which caused him to snatch it and turn his back to look over it.
It was his essay over something very important to their company. The one that he threw away when he got mad at Bryce. Why'd he throw it away? Because Bryce had helped him out a lot.
"So really," Jonathan wrapped his arms around his boyfriends waist. "We dis it."
Bryce felt his heart flutter then give a twist like a a knife as he thought of someone. Ryan. How could he have forgotten? The blonde pulled away from him in a hurry and forced a smile, "That's great! It really is! Um, I have to go check something okay? Uh, I'm not feeling too well so.." He watched as Jonathan gave him a confused look but not once did he stop, he just kept walking to their office.
Once he was inside he shut the door slowly before breaking out in an almost leap to the computer. His hands sliding over the keyboard as he entered their password and logged on to their account. As Bryce opened Skype he seen all the missed calls he had from his friend which made him frown, he prayed Ohm wasn't gonna be mad.
•Wrecker's House...
Ryan scratched his dog behind the ear as he stared at the screen. After leaving the Diner he had managed to get ahold of the blonde through their friend but that wasn't all. The blonde was supposed to call about an hour ago now and he was getting very worried.
Judging by the way he looked something was up. Suddenly he was snapped from his daze by his Skype going off, him being the clumsy man he is, split his coffee on the floor. "Shit!" He cursed loudly as he threw his labtop beside him in order to take care of the mess he had just made.
After cleaning it up he called Bryce again. Listening to the ringer go off before it was finally answered. "Hey! Um, sorry I didn't answer when you first called I uh, I spilt my coffee." Ryan chuckled out as he stared at the screen. The photo had managed to make him jealous in many ways.
It was a photo of the blonde and his boyfriend hugging in Dan's Diner.
"It's okay, I forgot to call you until Jon came home so."
"Yeah Bryce can we talk..?"
"What's up?"
Ryan felt awful but he took a deep breath. Tonight he was going to have a serious talk with his friend that just so happened to involve his boyfriend..
