Chapter 9
Natsu pov
He last two weeks had been hectic. Zeref had made me train non stop. I had told him that I could defeat any human. He just laughed and made me train harder. That bastard better give me what I want or I'll kill him.
I sighed and looked down at the claws sticking out of my hands. Zeref had been called away for some strange reason leaving me alone. God, this "taking over the world" stuff was taking to long. If Zeref doesn't give it to me soon there will be hell to pay.
I hopped off of he stone I had been sitting on and decided to move around. The place Zeref had taken me too today was a bright meadow. It had been covered in little pink flowers. Now the whole ground was singed. Everything had burned down from my fire.
I looked around and saw a small village off in the distance. It was just far enough away to not notice my burning hill. I grinned to myself. Going down there wouldn't hurt.
Zeref had told me that I had to keep a low profile. He said that he didn't want anyone to know what I was. I have no idea why I'm listening to him. I just have a feeling that I should.
I smiled and put my cloak over my horns. It covered my body completely. No one would know I'm not human.
I shot dawn the hill running as fast as I could. The trees zipped by me. I was going so fast all I could see was a blur.
After one minute I reached the town. It was small and it looked run down. Stupid humans. They aren't worthy to live in a place any better then this. They deserve the lowest of the low.
I walked down the street looking at the little shops. Even though they lived in such a small place everyone was smiling and laughing. I looked down and saw a little girl with blonde hair and big eyes looking up at me. She held a small teddy bear in her arms.
"Hello sir I don't think I've seen you her before. Are you visiting?" She asked. She reminded me of someone. Oh that's right. That Lucy girl. Apparently Natsu had been her best friend.
I grinned to myself. Maybe I should terrify this little girl. I had done everything Zeref had said and it made me mad. I wasn't his dog.
"Yes little girl. I was wondering if you could show me where you get your food. I've been traveling for so long and I'll pass out if I don't get any food." I said grabbing my stomach. The little girl looked concerned. She nodded.
"Of course." She said. I grinned. No one would no if this little town was attacked by a monster. This was my chance.
I tore off my cloak. My scales glittered when the sun hit them. I grinned baring my long fangs. The little girls face changed in an instant. She screamed and ran from me.
"HahaahHah time to have some fun." I said lunging forward.
-Lucy pov-
I closed my book about ancient magic and looked up into the sun. I had spent all of my time the last couple days reading through old books that could tell us about Natsu's Magic at and old caffe. So far nothing.
"Dammit." I muttered to myself. I glanced over and saw the paper on an empty table. Maybe I needed to take a break from spells. I walked over and grabbed it. The headline instantly caught my attention.
Small town is attacked by demon!
Demon. I know it was a long shot but it may be Natsu. No one had actually seen a demon so no one really knew if they existed or not.
I grabbed the paper, threw some money on the table and ran back to the guild. I was met by Wendy, Carla and Happy. They were headed to the library.
"Guys come look at this!" I yelled waving the paper in front of me.
"What is it Lucy?" Wendy said. She grabbed the paper from my hands and read it.
"Half off on all shoes??" Wendy said.
"Lucy we can't go shopping. We have more important matters to deal with. I think all the stress has gotten to you." Carla said putting her paws on her hips.
"No turn it over." I said. Wendy turned it over and her eyes widened.
"What is it?" Happy said.
"That could be Natsu." I said. "Cmon." I said running into the guild to find Gray and Erza.
I found them sitting at a table with Juvia. Gray had fallen asleep and was being held by Juvia who seemed to be in heaven. Erza was reading a book.
"Guys get up. I think I may have found where Natsu was last." I shouted. Gray quickly sat up and runners his eyes. Erza looked up as well.
"Wahh? Are you sure?" Gray said yawning.
"Gray-sama is up!" Juvia said holding Grays arm.
"How do you know it's Natsu?" Erza said taking the paper.
"I don't but isn't it worth a shot to check it out?" I asked. Everyone nodded.
"I'll tell master. Maybe we can catch the next train." Erza said running up to master.
"Guys what if it was Natsu. What do we do then?" Gray said scratching his head.
"We could see if he's still close to the town. Or maybe he left a trail." Juvia said.
"I guess that's all we can do." I said. Erza ran up to us.
"Guys if we run we'll make the next train. Move it!" She shouted. We all sprinted out the guild and down the street. Happy and Carla flew ahead of us.
My heart beat loudly in my chest as we ran to the station.
