Lucy pov
After a long night of tossing and turning and absolutely no sleep, I finally got ready to go to the guild. I had given happy some fish and had taken a hot bath to try and think better. My mind was racing. How could Zeref have known I would find the book? I just couldn't find any explanation for it.

Me and Happy headed out the door and made our way through the busy street. The sun was out and it was a perfect day. If it were a normal situation Natsu and I would probably have picked a job and would have been heading out of magnolia. Too bad it wasn't.

When we reached the guild Happy ran off and talked to Carla. He looked so happy to see her. I smiled softly to myself.

"Lucy. Something is off about you. Are you feeling ok?" A voice scared me. I turned around and saw Mavis looking up at me with big eyes. She assayed back and forth. It was still hard for me to remember that she was actually older than everyone in the guild.

"Actually there is something I'd like to talk to you about." I said. Immediately I thought of zerefs letter. Tell Mavis my offer still stands and she should consider it.

"Not to pry or anything but did Zeref by chance make you an offer of some sorts?" I asked quietly. Her smile faded. She quickly pulled me into the infirmary and sat on the bed.

"Yes he did. Around a month ago he found me wandering around the forest. He told me that he had big plans and that I should join him. When he refused to tell me what they were I told him no. I know he must have some awful plan that will ruin everything." Mavis said. She looked so sad and beaten down almost.

"Weren't you two in love?" I asked. Then I realized what I had said. "I'm so sorry I didn't mean to say that. It just slipped out. You don't have to answer anything. I'm so sorry!" I said everything really fast while bowing multiple times. I couldn't believe I had just said that.

"Oh no it's ok you don't have to apologize!" Mavis said quickly. She smiled to her self a little. "And yes we were." She said quietly. I saw a tint of red on her cheeks before her eyes lit up.

"I have something to talk to you about as well. It's a spell. It never crossed my mind until now but I may have something that could help Natsu. " Mavis said.

"What? What is it?" I said frantically.

"Ok there are a group of spells called the fairy magic. I believe you saw one of the spells in action on tenro island and then again at the grand magic game. Fairy glitter. There is also one called fairy law. The third is a spell that I think may help. It is called fairy light. By casting it, it has the power to take away darkness from an object. I believe that if you cast it on Natsu it may have the power to take away E.N.D." Mavis said. I smiled. For the first time in days I had found hope that we could save him.

"How does it work?" I said eagerly.

"You must close your eyes and picture exactly what you want to happen. Don't let your mind wander. If it does the spell may back fire. Then with that clear picture in your mind you must say the words Fairy Light. After that you must direct your energy into an object. By doing this you will take the power from Natsu and transport it into that object. Be careful with what you choose." Mavis explained. I was so relieved. It didn't sound too hard. I was confident I could do it. All I needed to do was picture what I wanted to happen and direct my magic energy toward and object.

"There is a catch though." Mavis said. Of course there was. How could I think it would be so easy. "You can only do the spell once, because it will take all your magic energy. You will feel empty and you will be vulnerable. It will be like nothing you've ever felt before. If you mess up there is no do over. Do you understand?" Mavis asked. I nodded. I was going to try anything to get my best friend back.

"Thank you for telling me this." I said thanking her. She nodded then went over to talk to master.

I quickly ran up to where Grey and Erza were sitting.

"Guys I think Ive found a way to save Natsu." I said quickly. There heads snapped in my direction.

"What did you say Lucy?" Erza said.

"I've found a way that might help him." I said. I told them what Mavis had told me. I decided not to tell them that I only had one chance. I wanted them to be happy for once.

"That's great news. Don't tell him but it gets a little boring when I have no one to fight with." Grey said looking away. I laughed. Finally we had a chance.

Grey and Erza quickly started to think of strategies on how we would get Natsu in one place. They seemed excited. Happy and Wendy were told and we all started thinking together. I smiled. It was good to not feel so hopeless.
