Lucy pov
Ezra, Gray, Wendy, Happy and I took the train. The west forest was located just a 5 hour trip by train away. I had a problem staying still. I couldn't stop moving. I'm sure all my friends were annoyed with me but they were kind enough not to bother me about it. I was really nervous. What if we couldn't find Mavis? What if she had left the west forest? What if she didn't know anything about what was happening to Natsu? What if something happened to him now?

When I had asked these questions Erza had assured me that everything would turn out ok. I could tell she was just saying that so I would stop asking. Everyone seemed anxious.

The sun was starting to set and its golden rays struck my eyes. I squinted them shut and watched the landscape change from city to farm to empty lands. After 4 more hours we were the only people left on the train. It slowed to a stop. We got off the train and looked around.

All I could see was forest. It stretched so far that that if would take us weeks to look through it. I could tell the others were worried. It had been silent the entire trip.

I looked down at Happy who had fallen asleep in my arms. He looked so peaceful. I felt bad for him because of Natsu. I hope he's holding up ok.

"Alright guys. We need to find Mavis as soon as possible. I don't know what's wrong with Natsu but she might. Unfortunately this forest is huge and it will be hard to find her. Since we all are extremely familiar with each other's magic we'll be able to tell where all of us are. This means that we can split up but only as long as we have a designated place to meet back up." Erza said. We all nodded then started to walk into the huge forest.

-3 days later-
Natsu pov
I slowly opened my eyes and looked around. I was in the infirmary. It felt like midnight but there was one lamp turned on. I looked down at my hands. The red color from before was gone but I didn't feel right. I sat up.

Then I noticed a sleeping figure in a chair. Looking more closely I saw that it was Lissana. I was slightly disappointed. I wanted to see Lucy.

Quietly I got out of bed and walked to the bathroom. I didn't need to go I just felt like I should wash my hands.

I was almost there when pain unlike any I'd felt before surged through my head. I bent down and grabbed my head trying not to scream. I could feel myself sweating.

I ran to the bathroom and splashed cold water on my face. When I looked up into the mirror I was shocked. I looked horrible. My eyes were bright yellow and my pupils were smaller then normal. Little red scales were covering the outside of my face and going down to my shoulders. There were black lines across my body that looked like fire. I could feel my fangs in my mouth growing longer. And I could see horns peeking out of my messy hair.

I stepped back shocked. Pain kept surging through my body. It wouldn't stop. I looked in my reflection. Was I becoming a..... No I couldn't become a dragon. But I could feel my body changing.

In pain and confusion I punched the mirror and it cracked into thousands of small pieces and fell off the wall with a loud crash. I needed to get out of here.

I kicked the door open and it flew off its hinges and crashed down to the ground. I ran faster then I ever had to the infirmary. Outside it was a big brown clock and hood. I threw it on and it covered my awful self. I opened the door and found Lissana staring at me with big eyes. She looked scared.

"Who are you?!? Where's Natsu?!?!" She yelled at me. She didn't recognize me. Good.

Without saying anything I ran into the wall. Instead of falling and looking like an idiot I crashed straight through the brick wall and jumped into the night.

I didn't know where I was going but I knew I couldn't stay here. My last thought was of Lucy smiling and laughing. Then...... I lost control.
