[C.48] Trust On A Traitor

• A U T H O R ' S  P. O. V •

The tension in the room, the three could feel how it's undeniably rising to great heights.

"They're what?!" King Peter belowed with a voice mixed with shock and anger.

His wife immediately came into action and placed a comforting hand on his shoulder to at least ease him a bit, she was starting to worry for their only companion inside the room for he looked like he'd rather be anywhere else but here due to the king's hard glare.

"S–Seulgi, Yerim, and the n–nine girls are all missing, your highness." The messenger sputtered despite his nervousness.

It was devastating really, considering how just a few minutes ago the entire kingdom was celebrating in happiness for the return of their beloved princesses. But it seems like the odds were being too cruel towards them that it didn't let even just a day pass before it lets anything destroy the joyful atmosphere.

"Tell the guards to search for them as soon as possible and replace them with the ones on standby," Peter stopped pacing inside the humongous room and looked at the nervous messenger seriously, "We can't afford to let our guards down because anytime, they can attack."

"Will do, your highness." The messenger gave the king a firm nod before dashing out of the room.

Seokjin eyed the group nervously, the last vision that he saw was the one that he dreamt of back in the other world and the things that will happen afterwards are still unknown to him.

But with what he knew so far, he knew it was enough to make him dread the news that was just delivered to them.

Did it already really happen?

The expression of worry on his face then morphed into anger and frustration. He hesitated, he knew that but because of it he was now too late.

No, no, no. Yerim can't be dead.

Seokjin was mad, no he was enraged. What was the use of the gift given to him if he didn't do anything with the useful information it kindly gave him? He was mad and disappointed with himself. He became very worried for Yerim ever since that day, but he also wanted to trust Seulgi so bad.

She was practically already a younger sister to him, and he was certain that she wasn't like that.

For the past few years that he's been alive in this world, he always took pride in the fact that he was one of the blessed ones that possessed more than one power, a power that can let him see the future at that even though it still had its limits.

So in all those years, he never would have thought that the day where he would desperately wish for the gift he took so much pride in to turn out to be wrong, would come. To him, that thought was very ridiculous and ignorant.

And on top of that, something even more ridiculous was starting to happen, and that was the act of slowly starting to hate Seulgi. All the happy memories made with her for the past years were being covered by the anger that he was starting to feel in just a matter of seconds.

Since that day, he wanted to be wrong, he wanted to trust Seulgi, but with every day that passed it was starting to get harder and harder, and now he just shut that small part of him inside, the one that held the image of the Seulgi he knew and focused on the fact that she betrayed them.

Seokjin would have never imagined these things happening, but today life slapped him in such a hard way, it proved all of those thoughts wrong, all at once.

The anger and guilt was slowly eating him up, which resulted to him clenching his fists tightly to the point he was sure his nails practically dug deep into his skin.

"Seokjin."

Seokjin's head snapped towards the soft voice that called him, only to have Jisoo on the receiving end of his questioning gaze.

"We know that this is a lot to take in, but remember that we're in this together." Jisoo gave him the same comforting smile that he slowly grew fond of for the past months.

But this time it strangely didn't have the same effect as it always did, because he knew, he knew something they didn't and it's still driving him mad and crazy that he wasn't able to do anything about it.

"You don't understand, Jisoo." He said through gritted teeth.

The smile on Jisoo's face suddenly fell, but it wasn't only her who noticed the dorthorian's behavior.

The tone of Seokjin's voice garnered the attention of everyone in the room, even Joohyun, Seungwan, and Sooyoung who were currently the most affected by the devastating news of their close friends missing, turned to look at him in surprise.

Seokjin rarely spoke like this, he was one of the oldest sure and had to do a lot of nagging, also especially as he was one of their most frequent target of teasing, but the group knew it was rare for him to look genuinely upset and irritated.

"Hyung, what's wrong?" Namjoon asked with furrowed brows as he started to approach Seokjin, but before he even had the chance to take his third step the latter's head suddenly shot up. Namjoon then noticed that the way the older male was staring at him was different, his eyes seemed different specifically, they were unusually full of rage and it alarmed all of them.

"What's wrong? You're asking me what's wrong?" Seokjin chuckled but it was apparent to everyone inside the room that it had no humor to it. Instead, it was almost like Seokjin was mocking the worried Namjoon.

"Seokjin-hyung, calm down." This time, it was Yoongi who addressed the stressed male while the others kept quietly listening to the conversation, not having the courage to add to the already thick tension in the air.

"I can't Yoongi, this is all too much for us at this point." Seokjin replied with a stern voice, his right eye twitching as a result of his restrained frustration.

"But hyung, you need to understand that you're not the only one who's losing it." Yoongi fired back, but much more firmer this time.

"But you don't understand, Yoongi!" Seokjin snapped in a hard and loud voice, causing everybody inside the room to flinch.

"What do you mean we don't understand?! We're all experiencing this at the same time! Hyung look, I know it's hard but you have to pull yourself together just like how everyone in this room is trying to right now, because if we all break down too then things will only get worse." Seokjin looked down upon hearing Yoongi's words, but it still didn't change the fact that his mind was still currently going haywire.

"No, you still don't understand it's my fault Yoongi, it's all my fault!" Seokjin yelled at him.

"Hyung, you're seriously confusing, just tell us what's wrong so we can talk it out!" Yoongi matched the older male's tone out of frustration.

They thought that Seokjin was just very upset about the problems that kept stacking on top of them, adding to their burden, and they thought that he was finally going to snap out of it this time around.

But they were wrong.

"Just tell—"

"You want to know it so badly?" Seokjin replied in a low tone as he slowly faced everybody, he knew that at this point he had no control of all the things that were coming or are about to come out of his mouth due to anger.

"Fine! I'm telling you all what's wrong."

This statement from Seokjin caused all of them to look at him in confusion.

"What's wrong is that I trusted Seulgi! I wanted to trust her so bad and I did but now it all backfired at me and I let her get away as a murderer and a traitor!"

Seokjin's angry response came to a pause, and so silence prevailed in the room. But his eyes eventually widened a few seconds later in realization of what he just did as his right hand clasped his mouth shut.

He scanned their faces and judging by the bewildered looks they were sporting, he knew he messed up.

"Seokjin."

The aforementioned male let his arm fall and rest back on his side before facing Seungwan, who was now staring at him looking very conflicted.

"Why are you calling my bestfriend a murderer and a traitor?"

Okay, before anything else, I'd like to put it out there that I'm going to continue to write about taennie in this book and in my other ones, and that's not because I disrespect Jennie and GD's relationship rumors if they really are true, because if they are true then I'm all for it because as a fan, I know that their happiness comes first. Just think of it as if Taehyung and Jennie are actors who play roles in my books, just because I write about them being romantically involved in my fictional world, it doesn't mean that they are in real life.

Also, I'm very very sorry for not being able to update much, it's just that school really knows how to keep me busy (severe writer's block doesn't help too).

To be very honest, I have most of the ending already planned out but for some reason I can't seem to put it into words, so let's just hope that I'll be able to update more frequently when my school year ends which is pretty soon.

But to the people who's still here with me, thank you so so much, don't worry because no matter what happens I will finish this book.

As always pardon errors if there are any. It's weird actually because I always find myself writing chapters at night where my mind is barely conscious thus the mistkaes :>

Anyways that's all, and continue to stay safe guys! See tou on the next update!

Luv y'all!
