sin nine

HOSEOK WAS NOT ENTIRELY SURE what was going on at work. First his boss died, then a weird crazy angel looking demon strolled in, claimed his former boss's job (because he's dead), and took over. He was certain that the love of his life, Min Yoongi, was creeped out by the woman, thinking that she was someone who needed to just go ahead and jump off a cliff, but Hoseok was sure that maybe there was some good left in her.

Hoseok hoped so. After all, he was a big spark of hope to some people, and he hoped that the woman had a little human left in her. Everyone did, after all. Especially his best friend, Kim Taehyung.

Speaking of which, Hoseok was going to see him today. But of course, he got pulled into a top secret meeting that not even the woman, E, the commander, the new General, whatever she is called, is allowed in. Personally, Hoseok thought it was a bad idea. A horrible one. E would find out eventually, one way or another.

After everyone filed there way in, Hoseok was still left confused. He had no idea why he was even here. Why half the people at work were all cowering around one big, round table, talking in hushed tones, eyes lowered, occasionally looking at the door as if they could be caught any second.

The second Hoseok entered the door, the only name that chanted in his mind was Yoongi. Yoongi, Yoongi, Yoongi. Hoseok immediately found him, talking to another co-worker as they pointed to some things on a sheet of paper.

What is this? Another plan? Another way to stop the Devil? Because it wouldn't work. It never works. Even their ancestors agreed.

"Why am I here?" Hoseok voiced out, which came out in a soft whisper, unlike him. All at once, the murmuring stopped, like a conductor pausing an orchestra. It was silent, and Hoseok wished for that one moment that he wasn't the center of the spotlight.

Someone cleared there throat. Everyone's eyes went to the person, and it turned out to be Min Yoongi.

"We're here to discuss on how to take her down and put her back in Hell." Yoongi looked at Hoseok, waiting for Hoseok to say something, to betray them, so he can walk out of here unscathed-

But Hoseok said nothing. What could he say?

Yoongi cleared his throat awkwardly once he figured out that he wasn't going to say anything.

"Well how are we going to do it?" Someone spoke up, a girl, who Hoseok remembers the name as Jisoo.

"We have to cooperate with Jeon Industries. It's the only way that we can beat that hag. And plus, even though we're rivals, we just have to bargain with them over something." Yoongi said, laying out a list of products that are in their own company. Hoseok slowly took a step forward, inching his way closer to where the electronic list was on the screen.

"What if this doesn't work?" An intern, going by the name of Beomgyu, asked.

"As in, what will happen if we don't take her down? We will. We have to." Yoongi sharply said, his fists clenching.

"I heard that they have some sort of torturer that goes by 'Swan.'" Someone from the back whispered.

"Swan? What kind of name is that?" Jisoo retaliated, narrowing her eyes.

"Someone who is deadly but beautiful?" Hoseok mumbled, staring down at the list of products before them. Everyone's voices turned louder, and soon, they were in a frenzy, some panicking, as others looked the 'Swan' up, wondering what he or she was like.

"Quiet down! She might hear you!" Yoongi almost shouted, and the room fell instantly quiet, as everyone held there breath in hopes of her not hearing them.

"There will be more to the plan later, but the least we can do is offer up something good to them is a dead demon, yeah?" Yoongi said, a smug smirk tugging on his lips as his eyes darkened with rage.

Hoseok almost forgot who the General was to Yoongi.

The General was Yoongi's father.

Although this place isn't exactly a military place, Yoongi's father was at the top of the ranks and ran his own squad when he was in the army.

"All in favor of this, say I. Anyone who says no, will have to keep their mouths shut." Yoongi had an aura that was similar to his father's around him. Authority, unfriendliness. Hoseok didn't want Yoongi to be unfriendly.

But still, he swallowed and said, "I," knowing how bad this will turn out.

HEADING DOWN THE WHITE WALLS of the hospital was never an easy feat for Hoseok. A plastic bag was in his hand, with hot chocolate packets in there, and his friend's favorite mug. He tried not to swing the bag so much, tried to force the happy smile on his face, while his stomach churned with guilt and fear.

Reaching a door, he heard voices inside. Hoseok perked up, and narrowed his eyes at the door, as if it could burn open if he stared open long enough.

Kim Taehyung didn't have much friends, or any at all, having been in the hospital for most of his life. Hoseok had met him when he was placed in the hospital, when he had tripped and fell down the stairs, breaking his ankle.

Taehyung was a sweet, kind boy, who cared about everyone in the world and saw no problem with it, even though there were plenty problems. Hoseok admired Taehyung for his innocence, even if sometimes it was a bad thing.

Hoseok didn't know why he felt so nervous. It could be a nurse, or a doctor, or some patient. Hoseok placed his hand on the doorknob, but froze in place when he heard a voice.

"I can take you anywhere you want, as long as you keep on smiling."

Although the words where nice, and calming, the smooth words that fell from the voice's mouth made a chill run up and down Hoseok's back.

E. Ma'am, miss, sir, whatever she was, she was here.

Hoseok's first instinct was to run. To get the hell out of there. Then he realized.

She was in a room with Taehyung.

Taehyung.

Someone who is like his brother. His best friend. Someone he could talk to whenever he needed someone to talk with. Taehyung might be in trouble.

Reaching into the pocket of his jacket that he had on, he pulled out a Glock. If he could shoot her just enough to slow her down, so that Taehyung could escape.

Hoseok saw a nurse coming down the hall, and he knew it was now or never.

He opened the door, and shut it behind him. Taking the safety off the gun, he realized his hand was shaking.

He also realized that she was staring at him.

Taehyung was too, and Hoseok noticed that his smile was gone, replaced with confusion.

"Hobi? Why is there a gun in your hand?" Taehyung started to scoot closer to E, and E slowly rose from her chair.

"I didn't expect to see you here, Jung Hoseok." She finally said, and her lips turned upward, not in an amused smirk, like the look she had when she watched the General wither in pain before her a couple weeks back, but it seemed reassuring. That she wasn't gonna hurt anyone in this room.

"Why are you here?" Hoseok said, anger starting to seep into his skin, a laugh escaping his mouth that seemed rushed.

"She's my friend!" Taehyung wailed, and reached out to grab E by the sleeve, pulling her a bit to him, as if he could protect her from any danger. Hoseok narrowed his eyes, glaring at the demon in front of him. His finger went down slowly to the trigger.

"Put the gun down, Hoseok. I'm not gonna harm him." E eyed the way he was shaking, and Hoseok noticed it as well. He didn't want to kill someone in front of his best friend, so he dropped the gun to the floor, making a clattering sound.

"Good job, you completed the first task of not getting blood all over the walls. You deserve a medal." E mocked him, flailing her arms in the air in a very humane way.

"Why are you here?" Hoseok asked, scooping his Glock from the floor, and shoving it in his pocket, after turning the safety on.

"I'm Taehyung's friend. Why are you here?" E asked, raising her eyebrow as she slowly sat down again. Hoseok looked at her, before walking over to Taehyung and placing the bag in front of him. Taehyung happily dug through it, and hugged his favorite mug in delight when he found it.

"I'm Taehyung's best friend." Hoseok snickered, letting out a smile that he was so easy to give. He didn't realize that he was giving it to the wrong person, so his face fell.

"Then I guess I'll let you guys have your 'bro' time, or whatever." E asked, standing up again. When she walked past Hoseok he thought she'd hit him in the face, but she walked straight past him, getting her coat that was thrown on a chair. Yet, he still shivered, as if it was cold, which it wasn't cold at all.

"When will you come back?" Taehyung asked, looking up at her with puppy eyes that Hoseok knew all too well. But now, they were directed at a different person, someone who was not him. It made him scowl to himself, and he clutched the blankets in dismay.

"Soon, bub." Flinging her coat on, she waved goodbye to them. She came over and gave Taehyung a hug and a kiss on the forehead.

Hoseok watched her as if she grew two heads.

Is this really the woman we're all scared of?

He didn't realize that when she left the room, he could breathe properly again.

"How do you know E?" Taehyung asked, pouring some chocolate powder into his mug, starting to get up from his bed to go grab milk from the cafeteria.

Hoseok looked at the door, where E used to be. What could Hoseok say that wouldn't scare Taehyung?

A crazy woman who killed my boss a few weeks back and was able to take over all of us in exaclty 20 minutes?

"Just a friend from work."
