Freya sat in her room. She skilfully brushed and did her hair, while a book floated in front of her. Her green eyes read over the elegant words that were written on the old pages that were filled with the myths of folk tales, while she braided her milky hair into a simple style which consisted of four, four strand braids that met on the back of her head in a braided bun.
The serene scene was ruined as the door to Freya's bedroom was flung open with such a force that it made multiple banners fall of the stone walls. Freya turned away from her vanity and faced Volstagg, Hogun, Fandral and Sif, who stood in the doorway. Volstagg grinned widely at her, while the others looked slightly disturbed at his actions.
Freya raised an eyebrow in question. It was common that Volstagg would open doors with such force, that banners would fall of the wall and left everyone wondering how the doors didn't splinter. But, she wondered why they were in her room.
"We have a terrific plan." Fandral started "Well it is more exquisite." Volstagg argued. The two looked at each other, silently asking the other if they were going to have to start bickering like children.
Yet before the two could continue their bickering over how great the plan was, Hogun interfered "We are going to Earth." Another one of Freya's eyebrows shot up in question, wondering how going to Earth was a plan."Can you teleport?" Sif's question was simple and direct, the answer however was not.
"I...I am not sure. I could try, but we do not know where Thor is. And I can not locate him and teleport to him." There was a silence. They had not hoped or thought of that answer. The only other option was the Bifrost, and with Heimdall that was probably not an option either.
"Our chances of success are not that big. Let's do it." Hogun, Fandral, Freya and Sif looked at Volstagg with looks of unbelief and proudness. But still decided to go along with it, they did not have a choice."Should we not get lady Skadi." Hogun asked, his question was directed to Freya, her and Skadi being almost inseparable since. the war. Freya smiled "No, she is a little busy at the moment. Let us not interrupt her." And with that they all took a hold of Freya, before teleporting to the observatory.
Meanwhile, Skadi sat in her room. Most of her furniture was damaged in some way, it gave her room a creepy aspect. The stool in front of her vanity was the first thing she decided to fix. She conjured some ice to make one leg so the stool would be able to stand.
Skadi looked at one of the banners that she had hidden under her bed. The banner depicted a painted image of Odin, Frigga, Thor, Freya and Loki. The family was surrounded by entwined branches that moved slightly, the picture was painted just after the war that had destroyed her life.
The fire's soft crackling captured the woman's attention. She took the banner, the thick cloth weighting heavily in her arms, and walked over to the fire. Her brown eyes looked at the fire before she threw the banner into the hot flames. The flames slowly swallowing the picture, the face of her friend looking at Skadi didn't touch her in any way, it left her empty.
She shook her head, why was she doing this? She loved her Asgardian family, yet she had just done a simple act that felt like a first step to something big.
"Why do you wonder why you hate them?" A cold voice same from seemingly nowhere startling Skadi. An ice spear appeared in her hand as she looked around her room "Whoever you are. I demand you come out at once." The answer upon her threat was laughter, not hysterical or evil but an almost genuine laugh. "Oh, why do you threaten me? I mean I could hurt you, but I do not have a valid reason." Skadi narrowed her eyes "Do you know who I am?"
"No." Skadi's fist clenched around her spear as she was unsuccessful in locating the source of the voice.
"That's disappointing. You would think Odin would have told Asgard about it's rightful heir."
The group of Asgardians stood outside the observatory. "Let's go." Volstagg took long strides towards the observatory before being stopped by his friends. "We can not simply walk in there. We need a plan." Freya stood in front of the giant Asgardian, even with her heeled boots did she barely reach his shoulders. Fandral saw his chance and quickly supported her "Volstagg she is right. We can not simply walk in there and expect Heimdall's help." Volstagg reluctantly agreed.
"Let' s leave the talking to Freya and if anyone decides to speak do not be blunt." Sif said before walking towards the observatory and being quickly followed by the rest of the group.
Freya hiked her dress up and did her best to keep up with the long strides of her friends. She slightly regretted her decision in teleporting so har away from the observatory and in the middle of Rainbow Bridge.
"Are you alright my lady." Freya looked up into brown eyes. "Oh yes.....I am quite alright." Freya took the arm that Fandral had extended to her and together the two kept walking over the bridge and closer to the observatory. "You needn't be nervous about returning to Midgard." He looked down at her, she had confided in him about her trip to Earth all those years ago, about how she had fallen in love. He had felt honoured that she had trusted him with that information.
The five Asgardians walked side by side into the observatory where Heimdall stood, watching.
"Good Heimdall, let us-" Volstagg had decided to speak first but was quickly interrupted by Heimdall "You would defy the of Loki, your king, break every oath you have taken as warriors, and commit treason to bring back Thor?" While her friends exchanged worried glances with one another, Freya looked at Heimdall, she smiled at her friend.
"Yes but,-" Sif was interrupted as Heimdall walked towards them "Good." With that the man made his way out of the observatory. Good luck my friend. Freya silently thanked him before following her friends into the Bifrost.
Freya sat on a stool while her mother stood behind the young girl. Frigga brushed Freya's long blond locks and gently braided them into a simple hair style.
"Now Freya tell me what you have to do." The young girl took a breath "I have to behave and see that Thor and Loki behave as well."
"And what about Skadi?" Frigga felt sick in her stomach. She didn't want to take her children to the diplomatic dinner with the wandering giants, she didn't want them to get involved with anything that had to do with the stupid war. "I must address her properly and not like I am accustomed to."
Frigga nodded and quickly whispered that she had to make some last minute arrangements before leaving Freya alone.
Freya got up and ran out of her room and towards the room that was next to hers. "Loki!Loki!Loki! Open the door." The young girl stood there fidgeting until her younger brother opened the heavy door. "Come." Freya quickly took a hold of his smaller hand and dragged the younger boy with her.
"Thor, we are going to be late." The two younger siblings stood in Thor's room waiting for him to finish whatever it was that they were doing.
"We can just run, then we won't be to late." That would never work for the simple fact that Freya was very short for her age and Loki was a lot younger and short as well. Thor glanced at his younger siblings before taking a deep breath and proudly walking towards the door. "You two coming?"
A/N:
So who do you think Skadi is talking to? I think the last line was a bit of a give away.
Also what do you think about Freya and Fandral? Freya still belongs with Bucky, but anyone give Freya and Fandral a thought? I think they could be cute together.
Anyway I'm probably going to finish the first Thor film in a few chapters and after that we'll see.
Thank you for reading. Please vote and/or comment.
See you all later
