"She's stable. But with a critical attack like that, this can be considered a miracle," the doctor said to Jin. "We'll need to observe her for the next few days. And even if she wakes up, there a high chance that she wouldn't be able to talk nor walk."

"I understand. Thank you, Dr. Lee," he replied as the doctor bowed before leaving. He too returned the gesture with a bow. Then he sighed.

"Yeobo..." Jisoo said as she approached her husband. "At least she's far from harm."

Jin nodded but nonetheless gave her a tight hug. He was devastated. If had just called for the staff to call over his brother and Jisoo, he would've been there to help his grandma. Whatever caused her distress would've been prevented.

"Don't be so harsh on yourself, hyung," Taehyung said as he lightly patted his older brother's shoulder. "We had no idea she's been suffering an illness. I always thought grandma was a vampire, to be honest."

Jin shot him a glare which made the younger raise both his arms up. Jennie elbowed her fiance.

"Not the right time, Tae," she reprimanded before turning towards the older guy. "Lisa called a while ago. She said they only managed to get the first flight at 6 AM. For a rich family why don't you guys own your own jet? Dear God. She should've been here by now.  Anyway, since the doctor said grandma's away from harm, they don't necessarily need to hurry. I can take Junghyun and Jisoo back to the mansion to rest. I'll also take some change of clothes for you two."

Jin nodded. As much as he'd want his wife to be near him at all times, Jisoo's pregnant and he didn't want her to be uncomfortable 'coz it might stress the baby. And Junghyun can't stay either. So there's no sense in arguing with Park Jennie.

"Do you want me to come with you?" Taehyung asked to which Jennie declined.

"Jin needs company," she said giving him a quick glance. As much as he'd like to say things weren't awkward between them, it wasn't true. Jennie was still aloof around him and so was he. But she did get along with Jisoo well. "Be here for your brother, arasso? I'll text Lisa to head straight to the mansion first. I'm sure Jungkook's dying to meet his son."

"Okay. But take the driver with you," Taehyung replied and gave her a quick peck on the lip. "I'm not too confident with your driving skills yet. You have a kid and a pregnant lady with you."

"Ya--"

"I have to agree on Taehyung just this time, Jen," Jisoo teased a little. "I love you but I prefer not flying back to the mansion just yet."

She rolled her eyes at the two.

"You guys are unbelievable," she muttered before going out.

"Ma'am," a man in a black suit welcomed them as they went out. "Are you two going home?"

"Who are you?" Jennie asked with an eyebrow raised. "I don't seem to know you."

"I'm the new driver, ma'am," he introduced himself. "I'm Noh Dongman's replacement as he recuperates from his fractured leg."

Jennie turned to Jisoo. "Unnie?"

"Yes, Wooreum informed us earlier that the new driver were to arrive this week," she said. "You're from the agency?"

The guy nodded and showed them the Audi's key.

"Shall we go, Madam Kim? Miss Park?"

This made Jennie's brows furrow. But seeing as how Junghyun was already acting up, she just shrugged it off and proceeded to walk with the man, bodyguards walking from behind them. But did the Kim's change all of their employees?

"Unnie--"

"We didn't hire new guards," Jisoo said softly, not losing her composure. Jennie turned to her confused. Her eyes spoke volumes but one thing was prominent, she was scared. Her hand on her swollen belly careful not to be obvious. "When I say run, run as fast as you can, okay?"

She was about to say something but as the reached the end of the hallway, Jisoo yelled.

"Run!"

"When will you stop, Lucas?" Yuqi pleaded as she struggle to break free from her chains. "Your mom wouldn't want this. The reason she only told you was that you'd find a new family after she passed. This has gone too far."

"Shut up!" Lucas yelled as he shielded his ears in annoyance. "You don't know what my mom wanted! You weren't there when she struggled to feed me! All because that fucking family threw us away!"

"Lucas--"

"Enough!" He aimed his gun at her. Her small face bruised from her cheek to her left eye. Her lip had a small cut but it was nothing she wasn't used to. Just because she fell in love with the wrong person.

Lucas' mom was her patient before at a hospital she worked at. He was just starting his residency. At first she didn't believe he was a doctor since he was fairly young but it turns out he's been accelerated a couple times.

Aside from being smart, Lucas had a big heart. He was kind, charming and a good son. It wasn't hard to fall for him especially when she sees him every single day.

But when his mother was on her deathbed, she told him the entire truth. That he, was a Kim.

"Go ahead, Lucas," she dared him. "Kill me. It's better than you hiding and torturing me. You're not the man I used to love."

Lucas' expression softened as he dropped on his knees. Yuqi's heart clenched as she recognized him again. The Lucas Wong she fell in love with. The compassionate boy who loved his mother dearly. She loved him too much. Too much that when he shows her the old Lucas she knows, her heart manages to convince her to stay.

"Luke..."

"It's just... I don't want you meddling again, baby," he said softly. "You let him escape. If you just waited and trusted me... this wouldn't have happened."

"But Lucas, what you did was wrong," she insisted. "You kidnapped him. Took him away from his own family. A kid was without a father because of what you did—"

"I grew up without a father too, baby," he said cutting her off. His hand cupping her face. "Can't you see what I'm doing baby? I just want them to feel the pain my mom and I suffered all these years when they took my father away from us. That family... they were the reason why I got bullied at school for not having a father. They're the reason why I got called a mama's boy since she's all I got. While they lived a ravish lifestyle, mom and I couldn't even have a decent meal on the table."

His eyes started to water as he clenched his fists.

"And mom died because we didn't have enough money for her treatments," he continued. His expression changed from sad to angry. Scratch that--he was furious. "They're filthy rich but they couldn't even spare us a single dime. They didn't even bother looking. They deserve to suffer too like I did. I will take one precious thing from my brothers and sister. I started with Jungkook. But since you let him go, I might get something even more valuable from the Kim's."

Lucas signaled someone outside the door to enter. Yuqi's eyes grew wide as she saw a pregnant woman being forced to go inside the room. She was then followed by a brunette caging a little boy in her arms protectively. Their mouth were taped and their hands were cuffed as well. She felt a huge lump on her throat.

"No..."

Was it necessary? The woman is pregnant! And judging by how big her belly is, she's near the end of her last trimester. And the kid... Her tears came rolling down her cheek. If things go bad... the baby might not make it. The little boy might get traumatized as well. Such young and innocent souls, forced into a mess they shouldn't be in. Unconsciously, her hand went to her belly.

Lucas... his mind isn't in the right state of mind.
She turned towards her boyfriend, eyes begging him to listen.

"Luke... please stop this. Please... this had gone too far. Please. She's pregnant... The boy... Lucas please don't do this to them—"

"And you think I care?" Lucas just smirked. "This will end only if I die."

Lucas stood up and laughed. He was insane.

Someone's phone suddenly rang.

"Won't you look at that," he said showing the phone's screen towards them. "Looks like someone's on the right track."

Jennie's eyes grew wide and began mumbling something incomprehensible since her mouth was taped. He laughed diabolically.

As soon as he stepped out of the room, Yuqi broke down crying.

"I'm sorry," she said towards Jisoo--her mouth was still covered with tape. "I'm so sorry. I really am. I... I couldn't stop him. I thought if Jungkook was set free he'd stop. I thought--- I didn't think he'd--"

Jisoo suddenly took the tape off her mouth shocking Yuqi. Her hands were cuffed. How'd she--

"He may be a Kim too but I was a Jeon."

Taehyung stretched his arm as he suddenly woke up after falling asleep on the couch. Jin however was on the other side of the room busy swiping on his tablet.

"Hyung, has Jennie came back yet?" he asked scratching his neck.

"Not yet," his brother answered without even sparing him a glance. "Maybe she fell asleep in the mansion. She's been here all day."

"What time is it?"

"Around a little around four am."

"Ah, okay," Taehyung just nodded. "Did Jisoo text you?"

"Nope," he answered calmly. "Her phone's dead. She always drains it after playing games. She's been obsessed with racing these days."

"You look so calm now, hyung," Tae commented. "You're usually frantic at situations like this--"

"Junghyunie!"

Both heads turn towards the hospital room's door as it bursted open.

"Lis? I thought you'll be here in the morning?"

"We managed to take off earlier," she explained. "Yoongi, Bam and DK will arrive a bit later. Where's unnie? Did you guys get them a separate room?"

Jin's forehead creased. "They're back at the mansion. Didn't Jennie text you?"

Panic rose in Lisa's entire system.

"Li?" Taehyung walked towards her. "Are you okay?"

"You're joking, right? I mean, you're clearly pulling a prank on me," she said with her voice tensed a bit tensed.

"Why would we?"

Lisa looked mortified.

"I came from the mansion before going here, Tae," she stated. "Where are they, Tae? Where the heck is our son?!"

"They went back to the mansion, Li. They took the Audi—"

"The Audi's in the parking lot, Taehyung!" Lisa was panicking. Jungkook tried calm his wife down as she started to hyperventilate.

Yes they went straight to the mansion thinking that their son was there since kids aren't allowed in the intensive care wing of every hospital he knows. But no one was there. So they thought maybe they paid for an adjacent room or something.

"Tae, can you contact Jen? You said she went home with Jisoo and Junghyun, right?"

He scrambled as he fished his phone out of his pocket contacting Jennie.

Lisa was stressed enough as it is and she can't handle another one. Jungkook was about to meet their child for the first time. Why does fate seem to hate them so much?

"Ya Park Jennie why didn't you call—" Taehyung spoke making everyone turn to him. "Wait, you're not Jennie. Who are you?"

"I picked up this phone on my way out from the hospital," the voice explained. "The phone was drained when I found it so thank God I plugged it in."

"Found?" Taehyung turned to his siblings who both walked closer to him. "What do you mean by found?"

"Well, it was on the ground and the screen's actually damaged. I have no idea how it got there."

Lisa yanked the device off her twin hand.

"Where exactly did you find the phone?"

"Uh... it was near the plant box going to the basement parking. Will you meet me for the phone?"

Lisa turned to Taehyung.

"Yes. We'll send you the details and have someone pick the phone up from you. Thank you."

Then she ended the call.

"Don't do anything stupid 'til I get back," she said towards her confused brothers. "Also, don't contact Jen's phone again."

Then she sprinted out of the hospital suite's door straight towards the nurse's station.

"Where's the security room?"
